This place is nice! Ambiance is great whether working, studying, chatting with friends while having your favorite drink. I like the design and layout of the place. Lots of tables. It's conveniently located between condos and close to the Central City Mall. Bright place, plenty of sunlight. There's seats outside to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having. It's across the street from the Surrey library, Civic Hotel, short walk to the Surrey Central Station. I noticed at the window it says voted best cheesecake in Vancouver! I will have to come back as I love cheesecake! Let's see if this gets my vote. They also close late, 10:00 pm!

Came here to have some dessert and coffee. Apparently their cheese cake was voted the best in Vancouver. We ordered mango cheese cake and a matcha drink. Both were delish. The staff were super friendly and gave us good recommendations.

Trees Organic Coffee - Surrey I used to be a regular at the Trees on West Broadway back when I was at UBC. I would get a coffee and a cheesecake slice at least once a week. So when I heard that there was a new location in Surrey, I had to check it out! I got the Tiramisu Cheesecake and a Cappuccino which went together perfectly! My only suggestion would be to have more mascarpone or Marsala wine flavour in the cake. Tiramisu Cheesecake - 9.5/10 Cappuccino - 8/10 (techniques wise it was perfect. I just prefer a darker roast) Taste - 8.75/10 Apperance - 10/10 Ambiance - 9/10 - good vibes overall. But still very new, and doesn't yet have a 'lived in' feel that adds a lot of character Overall - 9.5/10 Trees has been a staple for me for a reason. Go try their cheesecakes!

During my last trip to Surrey, I made sure to stop by and fill up on caffeine and pastries. This location looks like an Apple Store from the outside with a modern glass exterior and minimalistic interior. From what my friends have told me, this location is much larger than their Downtown Vancouver location. Upon entering, the first thing I saw was Nemesis' vibrant colored boxes nicely lined up on a table next to the window for purchase in addition to merch (shirts, mugs, etc.) featuring their simplistic upside down blue heart logo. They switch out the coffee varieties on a regular basis, and so make sure to check their site first if you are looking for a certain bean! After perusing the merch, I made my way to the line and was captivated by the fancy high-end pastries in the glass counter. The company that makes the pastries is called Dope and they had everything from cookies to croissants to cakes and crullers. Prices were reasonable and I paid under $20 USD for four pastries. They had unique flavors including: strawberry & pistachio danish, tiramisu croissant, churro cruller, iced cap cruller, apple hojicha fritter, ube donut, and more. Like the Nemesis packaging, the Dope pastry boxes were art pieces on their own and probably the prettiest to-go boxes I've ever seen; they are a bright vibrant blue with their signature smile and tongue character logo and metallic writing. They literally look like designer shoe boxes. Nemesis features two seasonal drinks at a time, but they don't offer any flavored drinks otherwise and so if you're looking for a basic vanilla latte, this is not the place. The two seasonal drinks they were featuring in February were the Beet Root Latte and the Black Sesame Corn Latte (no coffee in this one though). Personally, neither quite appealed to me and so I just ordered a basic OAT MILK LATTE sweetened with simple syrup (you could alternatively get it sweetened with honey). The espresso was smooth and the oat milk was nice and creamy. To share with my family, I also ordered the... - APPLE HOJICHA FRITTER ($4.75 CAN) - as someone who doesn't normally like donuts, this fritter was the best fritter I've ever had and definitely on the not-to-sweet side. It was crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and full of apple pieces, apple spiced compote, and cinnamon. The hojicha dusting was subtle but added a nice slight earthiness to the pastry. I liked this pastry so much, I ended up ordering another one later on! - The ICED CAP CRULLER ($4.75 CAN) - this cruller was also fantastic and full of espresso flavor. The espresso cream filling and the condensed milk glaze were delicious and tasted like I was eating a Vietnamese coffee. 10/10 would get this again! - BROWN BUTTER BANANA CAKE ($5.75 CAN) - this cake was super moist and had a beautiful piping of cinnamon espresso buttercream on top. I'd say this one was the least unique of the pastries I ordered, but was a solid slice of banana bread and the buttercream was smooth and light. - CHOCOLATE ORANGE SUISSE ($7.50 CAN) - this pastry was the most interesting texture-wise as it has a crispy exterior that reminded me of chowmein noodles, wrapped around a croissant. The candied orange was very distinct and could be tasted in both the chocolate orange filling and the outside. While the most expensive of the pastries (probably because of the extra labor it takes for this one), I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would order this one again too. The seating areas and bathrooms are clean. Service is excellent- we got our orders within 10 minutes after ordering and they come by to give you water and silverware as needed. TLDR, Nemesis is 1000% worth the stop and I can't wait to be back whenever I am in Surrey next. Overall, 5/5 for coffee and pastries, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

There were quite a few empty tables and the place felt pretty relaxed. I was doing a bit of work and ended up staying a little longer than the 90-minute table limit. One of the staff members came up to us and said, "Hey, you guys have been here longer than 90 minutes. You'll have to leave soon." I told him that was fine and asked if I could just finish my coffee. He said okay, but then about a minute later he came back with a to-go cup and said, "Here you go, you guys can leave now." Honestly, that caught me off guard. Especially since it wasn't busy and there were still plenty of open tables. During my first visit, Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure everything was great, and I don't think he would have handled it that way. The coffee is still great and I really like the space, but this experience definitely made me think twice about coming back.

The place is good, with nice and clean inside with lot of space over looking a busy road, perfect to sit back and let the world be busy while you sip your nice hot coffee and a bite of muffin(its friday ) 10 bucks for a coffee and muffin, and the coffee is just lukewarm, it wasnt hot, perhaps cz me, a non english speaker in an Indian accent told another non english speaker barista to give it to me in a cup and he served me in a paper cup and then he had to transfer it back to a ceramic one. But then we are human and its ok. He was polite, friendly and nice, no minus marking here. But the muffin, it should not be crumbling, as if it wanted to be a cookie, and someone forced it to be a muffin. Again the nice friendly barista offered another one and warmed it up, but he took it from a box that read "frozen". Oh there it is, its not human this time, its the system. You dint sell frozen bakery stuff in a cafe where one comes to have a fresh out of oven goodness. Too big review for a 10 dollar bill, well, I told tou before its friday!!

Today, being yet another "forgot to pack a lunch" days, I went ahead and ordered a Number 02 combo (Turkey). Order was delivered to my workplace via Uber Eats. Unwrapping the sandwich, I could tell that I was in for a treat. From the soft bun, to the fresh crisp veggies, and the portion size of their regular, I was already jonesing to take my first bite. On this particular sandwich, I opted for the extra additions of cucumber, onions, and Mack sauce. The veggies crunched beneath my teeth and I bit into the sandwich and the soft, textured bun ripped cleanly. This is a great combination of sensory experience in a tasty sandwich; the light flavours of the sauces mixing perfectly with the savoury/sweet Turkey meat? It was just on point. A hint of bacon flavour came through as this sandwich does include it, and the tomato shined just enough striking its perfect balance within. The guacamole was pleasant although not exactly flavourful, but added a nice creamy texture to compliment the sandwich overall, so no points lost. I'll always order to have avocado over not so I'm not complaining in the least. The overall combination of light and subtle, dare I say "clean" flavours, sat within a textural matinee of crunch, crisp, soft, squish, creamy, savoury, sweet, and salty? I'll definitely be ordering this one again. I also got a side of a water, and an Elmans Big Pickle. Not much to say about either besides they're what you'd expect them to be. Next time I order from Big Star, and there *will be a next time*, lll make sure to dine in, so I can get the whole package upfront. If their decor is anything like their dishes (clean, fresh, balanced, deliciously paired), they'll have a definite repeat customer as far as I'm concerned, not that they don't have me hooked already~! 10/10, will eat from again
