I have visited Doe coffee on Hastings street location several times. I really liked their matcha or Houjicha latte and their baking goods selection. Recently, I heard they just opened 2nd location on clark drive. 2nd location space is bigger than 1st one and nicely decorated. What I got: Mango Houjicha latte, Fruits danish, Ube croissant and Pistachio cream croissant eclair. Fruits danish was very good. Dough was crispy on outside with a lot of filling. Fruits were very fresh. Pistachio cream croissant was also good. A lot of pistachio cream, very delicious. Ube croissant was just ok. Ube filling was less than I expected. Dough was just fine. Mango Houjicha was a bit disapointing. At first, i could taste Houjicha flavor, however, milk temperature was a bit lower than usual. So, it did not bring out powder's flavor enough. Drink itself cooled down quickly, and I taste milk - daily flavor more than Houjicha or mango flavor. I think this require more refinement. I had good experience at first location, especially Matcha or Houjicha drinks. I will not judge by one Houjicha drink at 2nd location. I will visit again and will try different item for next visit.

had an early start to the day, two events back to back, and just enough time to squeeze in a caffeine break in between, so i stopped in at doe coffee roasters on east hastings. i'd planned to check out their new location on clark drive, and didn't even know there was a location on east hastings, but the gps routed me toward the closer one instead. after circling the area twice and making a quick u turn, i scored a one hour free parking spot a block away. inside, the café had that warm, industrial ease that instantly slows you down. tall metal bar stools lined a slim wooden counter along the big front windows, with more stools tucked up against the exposed brick wall on the right. three wide, white pendant lights hung overhead, giving everything a soft glow against the concrete floor. the holiday touches were subtle, little ornaments strung along the windows and brick wall, a tiny festive figurine on the counter, and a simple vase of dried flowers in the corner. the pastry counter looked incredible: rows of perfectly laminated croissants, strawberry, mango passion fruit, cannoli ricotta with pistachios, plus the classics, all neatly labeled and lit to golden perfection. but i was tight on time, so no croissant today. instead, i took a quick moment with a warm matcha latte made with oat milk, not sweet, simple, earthy, and exactly what i needed before heading out again. a brief but cozy stop, and totally worth the detour.

Excellent croissants and coffee. This place offers fairly innovative savory and sweet croissants as well as a wide selection of coffee and tea drinks. We got the croque monsieur croissant and ube croissant, as well as the hojicha tea latte and matcha ube drinks. The croissants were made fresh - the croque monsieur croissant was toasted up to be ready to eat, and there is a good amount of cheese and ham inside. The ube croissant is room temperature but also still offered the nice crunch from the croissant outside but there is a generous amount of filling inside that did not affect the integrity of the croissant. We intended to takeout but the croissants were too delicious that we devoured them on the spot! Drinks were excellent too - the hojicha latte was pretty flavorful and the matcha ube was pretty aesthetic and still good.

An iced latte at their cute amenities counter. Love their cups and lids.

Was early for my facial across the street and thought I'd grab a coffee. Really nice cafe with several seats to hang out. The dessert offerings looked great so grabbed a croissant too. Was flaky and yummy. My iced latte was very good and the to-go cup and lid were really nice, they stood out. Wish all places used such effective and aesthetic lids. Afterwards I saw their cookies and wish I'd gotten a PB chocolate chip one too. Service was lovely.

One of my favourite coffee shops. I love a good matcha or hojicha and they definitely have some of the best in town. If you're looking for a lunch item, the avocado green goddess sandwich is always my go to (vegetarian!) Although a small cafe, I've always found a spot to get some work done. Outlets are available and free wifi!

This place is conveniently located near the bridge between North and mainland Vancouver Island. The coffee and baked goods here are excellent, but there can be a wait in the morning due to its popularity. I got the mango hojicha latte and it was delicious - not too sweet, tea flavor wasn't super strong, and mango flavor was subtle and good. I also got a toasted sausage croissant to go, it was crispy and savory, just what I needed in the mornings.

Cute little coffee shop in this East Vancouver neighbourhood. It looks small but there is a decent amount of seating inside although it maybe be difficult for big groups to get together here. I got a croissant and a hojicha latte to go and both were quite good. The latte had a good amount of hojicha tea flavour which I liked. Croissant was a good compliment. Highly recommended for a place to catch up on some work and I will definitely be back!

Cute little coffee shop in Vancouver! Tons of croissant flavours, but opted for the matcha. Matcha is not sweet, and very strong. The quality is definitely there. However, my only complaint is that the croissant was not flaky enough - the extra crunch would have made it 10/10. Tried their mocha and matcha latte for drinks. Both were good, and really appreciate that nothing is overly sweet here. The employee was also extremely nice!

Their croissants are really not up to the standard! Too too dense. I don't get why the owner claimed they made the best in town!

The taste of the fillings was very well balanced with nothing being overpowering. I could taste every single ingredient yet they went together very well! I particularly liked the stracciatella cheese. It added a fluffy and soft texture to the sandwich. The shop was small, cozy and well decorated. There were some available seats when I was there at around 1:30pm. There was no line as the peak lunch hour had passed. They made my sandwich immediately so I didn't have to wait at all.

Italiana was so good. Double Prosciutto!! Truffle flavor was strong and paired with stracciatella cheese. What a great combination! And Arugula was very fresh. Foccacia was very crispy outside and soft inside. One of the best sandwich. I will order again. Monte cristo was also good. Grilled bread was very crispy and nicely pressed. Provolone and prosciutto cotto combination was great, too. Sundried totamto provided great accent. I will order this one again, too. Overall, it was a great sandwich shop. Highly recommend.

Good for someone that likes more simple flavored sandwiches. I enjoyed it hut probably wouldn't get again as I prefer a more Italian vibe. Formaggio = grilled cheese with 4 cheese and onion. When we arrived, it was busy! No tables free and a lineup to order, it went super fast though which was great. They have their service on lock! The decor is really cute too with a Vespa scooter out front that looks V Italian. We each got our own sando but could have shared based on the sheer size of these sandos. My husband and got the vegetarian sando (il Veg) and I got the Italiana. We couldn't wait till we got home so we started devouring them in the car. The meat was stacked on the Italiana and while I appreciate the stack for the $18-20 you're paying for sando it was a touch too thick for me, and I ended up taking some out and eating it solo sans bread like a little car charcuterie. The bread was fresh but didn't quite hold in all the contents inside. It's a messy sando and that's okay! I couldn't finish the sandwich and kept going back to it throughout the day like Homer Simpson and the infamous sub. I finally said goodbye to the sandwich at 8pm that evening. We had a good run. I'd love to go back and try more sandwiches. I heard the grilled cheese is killer. There's quite abit of competition on commercial for great sandwiches and I have enjoyed my sandwiches at other spots a bit more than this joint however will need to come back and assess more!

We live in the Seattle area and often drive up to Vancouver to eat yummy food! This past weekend we discovered To Live For and went twice during our short stay in BC. In Paris, we had vegan pastries many of our days there and afterwards, my hands were so oily....not at To Live For. After the delicious and crunchy croissant was devoured, my hands were dry. Seating is limited inside, but there are plenty of exterior seats and benches on the outside (W and N facing). The inside has a high ceilings with all the white ductwork visible. This venue also has quite a large bakery production area. Staff are friendly and professional. I must say I was skeptical as the place was vegan. Tried their flat white, as well as their Nanaimo bar. Both were absolutely delicious. I guess the only downside to the place is that it bakes in the afternoon sun because of all the large W facing windows. Talk about a pleasant surprise. I'd gladly come by again for more coffee and bakery goodness. Highly recommended.
