This restaurant at the Civic hotel is very good. Solid menu with a variety of unique meals as well as some standards. I've eaten here many times now and it's a solid 4+ stars consistently. I love the salt and pepper wings and the fries are just as good with it. Really like the Brussels sprouts too and the pizza and sandwiches are good. Great bar restaurant atmosphere with many TVs. I must compliment the service though which is always 5 stars. The main bartender is way cool and accommodating. A strong staple to the whole vibe of the place. Just in the civic plaza building and right next to surrey central sky train station. Parking is plenty in the nearby parking lot but they have their own parking underground. This is the restaurant inside the Civic Hotel in Surrey. Stopped by here with friends for drinks and appetizers. Ordered Truffle Fries, Calamari and Mandu (Korean Dumplings). The Mandu was decent and so was the Calamari. The fries weren't as crispy or crunchy as would have liked. The Sangria was one of the tastiest one have ever had in this part of the world. I had ordered the buddha bowl while having lunch with co-workers. I was excited about the gochujang sauce, as it's one of my favourite sauces. However, I was disappointed with my dish. Some of the flavours just didn't really work for me. Tahini kale, pickled red beets, and cherry tomatoes just didn't work with the gochujang. I ended up eating each element on its own. This is my 3rd time coming in (staying at the civic hotel this past week). This review includes 2 visits: Evening Drinks/Dessert Peach Bellini (3/10) - I was disappointed with this drink. I was expecting peach purée as described on the menu but instead it was a slushy. Similar to a frozen margarita. Was very sugar and honestly could taste any alcohol. Cheesecake dessert (6/10) - nothing special but some of the fruit was frozen so docked it down a bit more. Lunch French 75 drink (9/10) - Still one of the best I've had a restaurant/bar make. KALE, CAESAR! Salad with grilled chicken (5/10) - this was just ok, nothing special. ROASTED TOMATO BISQUE (4/10) - The bread was great! BUT this was not a bisque, this was an oily tomato soup. It was very watery and when served you could see a sheen of oil covering the soup. This recipe was definitely missing a cream base. Birthday brunch with my girlfriend. Started off with the flight of mimosas, orange, grapefruit and raspberry (flights are $13) We love our eggs Benny and unfortunately they do not have the Pork Belly so now it's smoky bacon. So I went with the BBQ Gochujang Pulled Pork which they serve their bennys on Buttermilk Crumpets. Hands down a win! I absolutely loved this dish. The BBQ sauce was not sweet and well balanced so it had you craving more. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked, crunch on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. OK they were scream hot when they came out. Lol. My girlfriend got the Smoked Salmon Benny and it was very good. Super fresh tasting and still had a briney tang of salt. Unfortunately we did not get dessert as we were so full. The patio is perfect but it was only 9° so heaters were on and they do give you fresh clean blankets. The chairs are metal so I would highly recommend wrapping the blanket around your lower body to keep warm. They have extended the patio around to the front side for more seating but these are shady and no heaters. Service was fantastic and everyone was pleasant and very helpful. After a long and tiring day hiking, I discovered this restaurant on Yelp and seemed fairly new but menu was attractive and wasn't too far from the Airbnb I was staying at either. First off - paid parking is available close by and the restaurant is located inside the Marriott hotel. Usually I stray away from restaurants inside hotels but I was pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent here and apologies for forgetting the name of our server but he was very accommodating and friendly. My sister has a dairy allergy so he was extremely helpful with suggestions and ensuring we had everything we needed. I ended up ordering the BC Cobb Salad and it was very fresh - I enjoyed the lemon vinaigrette which paired well with the ingredients in the salad. Overall - food was good and came out in a timely manner. Our server checked on us regularly, refilled our waters and asked us if our meals were good. I would comment that the pricing is slightly higher than other restaurants due to the restaurant being situated in a hotel but regardless it was a pleasant experience. read more

We stopped by for date night. We were seated right away. Water was dropped off shortly afterwards. There was a QR code for their menu. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. Food was pretty good. My favourite was the seafood chowder. There were fresh clams, a plump mussel, two prawns, pieces of salmon and lingcod. I would come back just for the chowder. The calamari was alright. I thought the capers were a bit too salty, but the onion slivers helped cut the heaviness and salt of the appetizer. I ordered mussels and frites for my entree. There was a slightly sweet and spicy Thai red curry sauce and six mussels. The fries were alright. I was too full for dessert. I washed down my meal with a berry lemonade. Service was efficient. As a new Surrey resident, It's super important that I find some good brunch places. Dominion Bar + Kitchen definitely delivered on this. I had the French toast tower and my partner had the gochujang pulled pork breakfast bowl, and both dishes certainly satisfied our cravings. The French toast tower was light, not overly sweet, and plenty filling. The brûlée'd banana slices were a nice touch, as was the sour cream glaze. The breakfast bowl was great too. Very nicely cooked potatoes, nice melty, but chewy cheese curds, and sweet, yet tender pulled pork. On the drinks front, I looked at the Purple Goddess on the drinks list and knew that I just had to have it with all the glorious floral flavours they added to it, from rose, to elderflower. It's definitely a pricey drink, but I didn't regret ordering it. My partner went for the dole whip mimosa, and that was pretty good too. The maraschino cherry that my partner made me have was a bonus. Overall, a solid brunch place. Might try other items, or their lunch/dinner menu.
