It appeared we had neighbors in the adjacent site because they had left trash and forks in the fire pit, but no one ever came. Thankfully so as the fire pit was way too close to our tent entrance. We used the larger community fire pit as the evening waned. No one came to any of the other 4 tents. I feel this place has potential but seems to be in its infancy. It was very peaceful here. Wished there was a doable path to the Sycamore Saloon so you didn't have to drive even though it was a short distance down the road. With no bathhouse or bathrooms but a port a John, it is hardly glamping. Just don't have to pitch a tent. No direction about lighting but the "extra" battery pack was enough to light us up for our short trip. There was not one at the site. There was a geo dome being built on site. I think in time this could be a nice experience but for now, completely rustic and basic. We did not receive any pre arrival information and had to call to ask about linens, toilet and lighting so as to know what to pack. It seemed as the occupied tent next door was someone long term.

The rooms are huge, but are severe need of an update! The bathroom had cracked tiles and the vent was hanging from the ceiling. The closet had minimal places to hang clothes and were attached to the rod as if the owners are afraid of people stealing hangers. The kitchenette area was filthy! The fridge had thus rusted, the dishwasher was dirty, and the had minimal utensils, plates, and cups (which I would not use). The utility room had the door missing and the light in this room was bare (which I believe is a violation). Lights in the bathroom were brunt out. The kitchen had no paper towels or cleaning cloths. The linens in the bathroom were bare threads. NO housekeeping services. I had to walk down to the front desk to obtain clean linens; then bag my old lines and place outside the door. The pool should be condemned! Mold, ceiling falling in, and just filthy. This place could be a very nice Mom and Pop Hotel in Brown County if the owner fixed the place up a bit.

If serenity, peace and nature are what you seek, this is a good place to start. We arrived near dusk and while the directions to the address were clear and straightforward, once you arrive at the property, it isn't extremely clear where each of the cabins are located. One sign said "Anglers Serenity something" and I recognized that Anglers was the name of our cabin, but I didn't know the names of the other cabins, so it was a bit confusing. I saw the "road" (and I use that term loosely) leading down towards a wooded area and I became afraid. It was steep and narrow and my Lincoln MKZ is not exactly what one would consider and all-terrain vehicle, so I told my husband to take the wheel (along with Jesus)! In my opinion, that road is dangerous and if there were ice or snow present, I might have decided to abort mission. While booking, I did note that one location mentioned that you had to have 4-wheel drive for that particular cabin, but not the Anglers where we were staying. After making it to our cabin safely, we decided that we wouldn't be leaving until sun-up the next day, so we got settled in. The cabin was lovely and cozy and clean (for the most part). I did notice a few cobwebs on the multitude of antlers and when I unrolled one of the towels left in the basket by the fireplace (meant to be used while utilizing the hot tub) there were long, straight, light-colored hairs entangled in them. My hair is short, curly and dark and my husband has a very low haircut. The only other complaint that we had was that the window over the kitchen sink had no window covering. I could not help but to feel like someone was standing there peering at us from the darkness each night. The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub. I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to soak in an outdoor hot tub on a chilly Autumn or Winter day. I can finally tick that off of my bucket list! The hot tub was set to a delightful 102 degrees Fahrenheit and that was perfect for the 40 degree weather. When we first stepped in, it felt too hot, but once fully submerged it proved to be perfect! We will definitely return once it is warmer so that we can go fishing in the pond and use the paddle boat! This place is ideal for people who want tranquility, but don't like being "out in the boonies"! We popped into a Target location just about 12 minutes away for provisions and there were lots of options for food located in nearby Bloomington.

The ease in renting and getting access was extremely easy. When we stayed here we also made reservations to rent a boat with Fourwinds Marina on Lake Monroe. The 21 mile drive from the cabin to the marina takes only 37 minutes. Add this to their list of options of things to do and see in the Bloomington area. I grilled steaks outside on their grill while she cooked the rest of the meal in the kitchen. We had a great meal, because the owners had prepped us very well. They tell you exactly everything you need to bring and what they already provide. There were no last minute stops or hunting down a grocery. As you can see from their photos, their cabin is beautiful. I'm sure all the others are just as nice. We will definitely be returning in the very near future.

There is a door in the bedroom that leads to the house through a closet, but it is kept locked when visitors are there and only used to easily access the apartment to clean. The bathroom was a major highlight to Virginia's Garden. It's bigger than you would expect! To the right is a microwave and small refrigerator with an opening below that perfectly fit the small cooler I brought. There is a nice sink area and shower. Walking past these is a large clawfoot bathtub, pedestal sink, toilet, chair, and a table with bath salts which I found useful after long days of walking! The space is perfect for your needs and the get ready area for the bride is exceptional. The venue holds regular meet and greets with vendors which really allows you to meet with them in a relaxed way and then meet more formally if needed. The day of the event could not have gone better. We had no issues at all and all of our vendors were excellent. The venue and teams worked so well together that I could not even think of anything that was not point. Even with some rain on its way, everything was planned out and replanned if needed. Truthfully we never really saw the staff, because they moved so flawlessly with everything.
