** Please note that this business is also listed as "Trends Clothing Co" on Yelp ** CONSIGNORS BEWARE! I have been consigning at this store for well over a year, almost two now. I have been well aware of the flaws, such as items taken to donation without notices, the disorganization and the lack of transparency in their system, etc. Finally, I've had enough that I just decided never to consign at this place any more. This week I went back to the store to re-consign a few items. Out of the 6 unsold items, the two highest value items went missing. One of the staff assured me that it should still be around and would continue to look for me. Two days later, I called the store to make sure that these items have been found. Apparently they haven't been found. Before I asked any further questions, I was told that the disclaimer says if anything is stolen it is not their responsibility. This was an indication to me that items disappear often enough that the staff are already trained with this standard response. I then asked if this is a known problem, shouldn't the store owner do something about it? The apathetic response I got was that shoplifting happens in the retail world... Finally, she tried to get me off the phone by promising to call me back. Of course, after reading other reviews listed under "Trends Clothing Co", I know this will not happen. I especially resonate with the one review about items that are mysteriously "lost". This time I get the "explanation" (or excuse) that they are stolen. I, too, feel extremely insulted for the lack of apology, lack of explanation, and lack of investigation. Consignors or potential consignors, please be aware of these few traps: 1) Read the fine prints when you sign up to be a consignor and really try to understand what they mean. They do donate your items without any further notifications. Where your items go and how much they get sold for are completely at their discretion. You have to understand that once you've dropped off an item, it is completely outside of your control. 2) Be prepared that even if your item gets on the floor, they could go missing without any good explanations. The store does not take any responsibility and the staff couldn't care less. You will not get even an apology from anyone. 3) Also be prepared that you will be treated differently walking into the store as a consignor rather than a shopper. I hope one day the owner would recognize that she relies on consignors as an important source of good inventory for her store, instead of looking at consignors as people knocking on her door for money read more

So unaccommodating! My mom bought me a coat from there yesterday and when she brought it home to me I put it on and it was way too itchy for me. I called this morning about their return policy and immediately was told no we don't do that! I understand if I bought something and wore it a bunch but in this case I didn't even wear it once. The consignment practices at Trend are very sketchy. I used to be a fan until I tried bringing some clothes in. After a long period of "sorting," I called in only to find out that none of my items were accepted. Even the newer items that were barely worn were rejected because they were "dirty." The explanations for rejected items are brief and confusing. I'm definitely disappointed and wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. Unfortunately, their processes make you wonder if your clothes end up in a staff member's closet instead of a charity. read more

I've been a Trend account holder for as long as I can remember. The last few years I feel the service has definitely gone down hill, at least as a consigner. I have been to other consignment shops with huge amounts of traffic and find they handle their accounts much better than Trends. I have had items lost, pulled early and donated, and sometimes (not always), really crappy service. Please revise your account policies, Trend. I think you may have a few more pleased account holders. read more

I have been consigning with Trend for years - but today I had terrible service - and from the manager! Openly questioning the fact that I had ever been called about removing high end items before they expire. And they gave me inconsistent information about expiry dates from what THEY have posted online for my items. I'm super disappointed...will try out their new competition next door! read more

I tried to consign some of my very expensive designer jeans here and a pair was mysteriously "lost". I personally believe employees here are stealing clothes, this is not the first incident I've heard of Trends loosing items. DO NOT CONSIGN YOUR CLOTHES HERE! read more

Bad Experience with Trends Fashion. First time dropping off bags and I was excited to gather some more information. At the time of dropping off the clothes, I did understand that the items that were not "fit" for the store would be automatically donated to charity. I had only dropped off items which I thought were fit for the store. From being in the store several times and having several friends purchase from the store, I had a pretty good understanding of the type of clothes get accepted. For example, Rock and Republics (worn twice) with Pink Swarovski Crystal R's...about a $400 value. Apparently, these jeans did not make it to the floor and I had called to inquire why. The manager had mentioned they probably had some sort of flaw such as a rip and so on. From wearing these jeans twice, they were close to brand new conditions which made me question the stores truthfulness about what happened to the jeans. I can understand a pair that maybe had frayed bottoms or a clear rip in the crotch but definitely not a close to brand new pair. The manager then began to tell me not to drop off things I'm attached to. Of course I'm not attached to the jeans, I dropped them off wanting to sell them. First off, why would anyone drop off clothing to this store if they didn't want to sell it? Of course your interested in selling and if you know fashion and brands, you have a pretty good idea of what would probably sell in this store. Other items I had dropped off that didn't go to the floor include True Religion Brand Jeans worn for two seasons no rips, Citizen Jeans worn for 3 seasons no rips, Black Talula Top from Aritzia bought two seasons ago, and a Brand New American Apparel Dress. I recommend potential consigners not to sell your items here as they give a poor explanation of why your high-end items did not make it to the floor as well as poor customer service. Trend is a good place to shop, bad place to consign in. They have a great selection for a younger crowd and the items are displayed very well. They also have some great designer items that you wouldn't usually find at other consignment stores. As a consigner... I no longer consign with them. Here's the problems: 1) They don't pay you out unless you have over $20 in your account (otherwise you're forced tos pend it IN the store... which is unreasonable) 2) They are notorious for 'losing' clothes and tags. Often times they'll say the clothes were stolen and it's not their responsability. Once they do, don't expect an investigation unless you stay on their tale daily. 3) Drop off clothes ONLY if you're ok with them going to charity. The first time I consigned with them they gave two bags full of clothes to charity because they were winter clothes and they only wanted spring. There was no phone call/ follow up and especially no apologies. 4) They only give you two months to keep your clothes on the floor. If you clothes expire on a certain date they 'reserve the right' to expire them earlier than that date if they need to clear the floor. I found this unprofessional and am no longer a consigner with them. Again, great place to shop, bad place to consign. They have lots of staff so there is little escuse not to call customers before throwing out their batch of clothes. I now consign with a neighboring store that always calls me before throwing out items and always pays me for watever amount sells. read more

I was one of Donna's 1st customers. I consigned at trends for 2 years until an ugly experience.The store got broken into, and Donna phoned me asking me to take a loss for the items that were taken so that she didnt have to deal with the insurance company. I didn't think it was fair so she went ballistic and said if i didnt take the loss she would close my account. I stood my ground and so she signed a $900 cheque for all the loss and closed my account. I've been comsigning ever since at a different store who-appreciate customers! She's ungrateful to those that helped her to the top. Buh-bye read more

As a consignee: Unreal! When you know what you have left with them, i.e. the value, quality and state of each item, and it takes them over a month to go through and tell you that not a single piece out of thirty or so was retained, you may feel a little...confused! Especially when the reasons listed are things such as "dirty, worn out, stained" and the horror list goes on. Nothing to get mad about when you made sure that every piece of clothing was carefully washed and folded, that some of it had never been worn, some are 100% silk, or probably worth more than one of their equivalent on the floor. I have consulted with other people, friends of mine, who have also dropped off some clothing before with them and had the exact same feedback. So, make it your own experience, hopefully it will work out better for you but just remember to take a second look at what you are leaving with them. Just came from "Christmas in Kensington" where the stores are open until 7 p.m. Except for when I entered TREND Fashions at 6:40 p.m.....I was immediately informed that the change rooms were closed for the night. !?!? They might as well have been closed. Not impressed. I'll stick to Peacock Boutique for the area. They should thank TREND Fashions for sending business their way. read more

I have consigned my things in various places in Calgary and Edmonton and was excited to learn about Trend Fashions. As you know, in order to consign, you have to sign a form saying that anything the store feels won't sell or for whatever reason, they have the right to "donate" prior putting the rest of your things on the floor. After reviewing what exactly can be dropped off and knowing that I had top names, some of which still had the tags on it, I was confident with what I was dropping off. Shortly after my items went onto the floor, I saw online that only 1/3 of my stuff actually made it onto the floor. Among many perfect items, I recall specifically that this included three items that were Banana Republic; two brand new with tags and one with the tags removed but was also brand new. It also included two brand new Nine West purses. My only thought then is that as the girls were rifling through what could be sold and what was only good to "donate" that they kept my items for themselves. But of course, what recourse do I have given I signed that form? I will certainly never shop nor consign again and I am so disappointed in my experience. I feel like those items were stolen from me and it makes me feel sick. read more

I used to visit Trends Clothing on a regular basis. Also, I would recommend it to friends all the time. I have consigned there for years but the last couple of years I had real issues there. I have always brought in clean modern and sometimes new items with tags still on. I have been told my bags were sent on due to damaged, soiled and dated items. My friends would tell you I am very stylish, well dressed and they would love to have my hand me downs. I have the same experience as one of the other reviews below. My bag was sent on but a several weeks later I spot my silk dress same size etc but with another consigner not very likely. I spoke with one of the staff who was to check it out for me and call me back which never happened. I saw my one of a kind black belt guess someone got the benefit of my bag?? I have moved on to the Peacock Boutique I have received 3 cheques in the last 3 months. read more
