I initially met Steve Sellars through my local Nextdoor when I had a leaky skylight. He seemed…read moreknowledgeable and quickly got the job done...so I thought. A month later it leaked again. He was quick to fix it and hasn't leaked since so I hired him to redo and expand my upper deck using gray composite decking. There were some hiccups along the way, but overall, the deck is fine. I decided to cover my lower deck and told Steve I wanted the exact same decking he used on my upper deck on my lower deck. I have health issues that cause aches, fatigue and fuzzy brain, and I was out of town during part of this project. After I returned, I realize Steve had installed brown composite rather than gray composite. I learned that both of his workers questioned him about the color difference, and he told them I was aware of it, and it was fine. I fired him. I had several other small projects for him to do and I had paid for all the materials up front. I wasn't home at the time, but Steve had all the remaining materials that I paid for, picked up and returned. The deck needed a minimum of three boards to be basically completed. I asked him for just those boards, no response. I asked for the manufacturer so I could order them, no response. After searching Menard's, Lowes and Home Depot I decided Trex was close enough and ordered three boards. Based on the price of these boards, I estimated the cost of what he had installed and realized he at charged me at least double the material costs, if not more. He also borrowed my hammer and never returned it. I had a roofer come give me a price for a new roof and he told me I would need to replace the skylight that Steve fixed due to the amount of product and poor application. I would not recommend Steve Sellars S & S Pro Builders/Repair.

Also took the lead on working with our insurance. Made a difficult time less so. Very pleased. Definitely would use them again in the future!
