Almost perfect Living In Lee's Summit does have a few drawbacks. A few years ago I replaced my driveway. A building permit was required by the city, and their building code required that the portion of the driveway in the city's right of way required a lower grade of concrete and no rebar (steel reinforced). The heavy rain the past couple of years eroded the soil underneath the driveway, causing the concrete to sink! I called Foundation Recovery and their rep was here the next afternoon. He quoted a reasonable price and I accepted. Work was scheduled so as to meet my needs and a crew showed up on time. Work was completed on time and clean up was flawless. They even stabilized my entry walk for a reasonable charge The results are amazing and the five year warranty is comforting All in all I am more pleased with their modern methods and materials than mud jacking. Bottom line is it looks much better than I thought it would and I've got my driveway back! read more

The very costly job ( $20K+) was performed quickly ( in winter). Since they offer a 3rd party free interest payment for 2 years, which most customers would take, and we would expect that they were paid in full right away However, the crew NEVER came back to tamp down the soil in the area where the foundation around the house was dug up and piled up for months. The initial explanation was that the soil is too wet due to the spring rains. This is May and the rainly season has past. However, after multiple contacts, and phones, the crew never came out, even after a schedule was set. The yard in front and back is a MESS and we are still waiting for them to come out and tamp down and level the dirt. There are 3 very heavy 3 ft long concrete down spout blocks that were moved out of place and NEVER put back. IT IS RIDICULOUS TO SAY THAT THE TAMPING DOWN AND LEVELING THE SOIL IS NOT PART OF THE JOB OR COST WHEN THE WHOLE JOB COST OVER $20k+. The salesman seems very nice and did a great job of selling. However, the company crew never came back to " finish" the job, because I think they were already paid. Another friend of mine had similar job done about a month before this job close to the end of last year (2025), she is still waiting and trying to get them to come out to tamp down and level the dirt. I was looking for a foundation company because my foundation was in need of getting it pulled back and it was bowing 4inches. I found foundation recovery systems online and what won me over was their forever warranty that can be transferrable. My first interaction was with Matt, he came to my house and gave me a break down of everything and what I could do that wouldn't cost me a TON of money! He also came back an hour later to talk to my wife about everything we talked about before. I REALLY appreciated it and thanked him for coming back over. We came up with a game plan and he was very communicative every time I would text him. He had every answer or if he didn't know he would call right back. That is why we went ahead and booked our installation. Installation came around and the crew lead person name Landon was great. Explain what they were doing and how it is going to look. They worked all two days day and night. I was really happy with the outcome and how communicative they were with everything and if I needed to spend any extra to waterproof my basement. And then this time was unexpected but I noticed that the other side of my basement was getting water somewhere and the sump pump that is there was not running as well as the one that was just installed. So I called Matt again to have him come over to give us an estimate of installing a new sump pump where the old sump pump was and water proofing the other side so there will be no water coming through the basement. We discuss price and came up with a game plan. Very polite and willing to help an anyway. He came over as soon as I got off. Second crew came by to do an install and the crew came around 845-9am. They walked me through the game plan and started working on the other side of the basement. Jeremy the formen, he noticed that there was a broken pipe and fixed it so my washer water would flow directly to the sump pump or the other one that was previously installed. He got the waterproofing completed and ran a pipe through one side of the room to the existing sump pump. They patched everything up very nicely and will come back to put up seal and beams within a few days. This plan was not expected, but SAVED us a lot of money! I was very happy about that. I really appreciated the hard work that these men were doing. They worked day and night to get it done. I was very impressed! I would recommend this company because of how well and understand the importance of customer satisfaction. The fact that the work they are doing is warrantied and can be transferred to new owners if I decide to sell my house. Ethan Longbine just left here. He is a Service Technician with FRS. He did a great job taking care of a leaky pipe running from my furnace to the sump pit. He also was very helpful in wiping up some water/mildew area's after sealing the pipe. I have to say that FRS customer service is stellar, and I would recommend them to anybody. FDS...Not good...why? What I was told would be a "2 day process", took nearly a year of visit after visit, re-adjusting, repair, redoing, finishing undone things, one crew after another telling me what the prior crews did wrong, then leaving their own mess behind. My once finished basement left in a total disaster, and my inexpensive contractor who was going to help, long since moved on. (I ended up getting a second loan besides what I paid this company, to pay someone to figure out how how to repair the damage they'd done). I also had to have 2nd company to replace a broken window which never got done by FRS who broke it. They also took an expensive tool I let them borrow to work on my basement, which disappeared when they left. The repair includes 3 annual visits to check and tighten their supports. They called last month, made an appointment, which they canceled on date due, then were no show for second date. FRS has contacted me and cancelled my contract. Therefore I am no longer stuck for a deposit. I do appreciate this. I had heard good things about FRS which was why I contacted them in the first place. That doesn't change my advice however. Be aware with any company, do not get in a rush, get multiple bids, read every word no matter how long it takes, take 2-3 days to think it over. I made every one of these mistakes. read more

I hired this company to do poly jacking on my driveway, and the entire experience has been disappointing from start to finish. The section of concrete they were supposed to lift was never brought up all the way, which defeats the whole purpose of having the work done in the first place. On top of that, the caulk they used dripped out in multiple spots across my driveway, leaving a messy and unprofessional appearance. They also promised that part of the job included cutting and filling the cracks. Not only did they not cut them properly, but several cracks were left completely unfilled. When I pointed this out, they assured me that someone would come back out to finish the work and take care of the issues. Unfortunately, that's where the real frustration began. Over the course of three weeks, I contacted the company multiple times. Each time, I was told they would send someone out to address the problems, but no one ever showed up. I've given them more than enough opportunities to make this right, and they continue to make promises without any follow-through. At this point, I feel like I wasted both my time and money. The job was incomplete, the workmanship was sloppy, and the customer service was extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately, my interaction with Foundation Recovery Systems was extremely unpleasant. When I called to request a bid based on a licensed structural engineer's report, I spoke with someone on the service side. The person I spoke with quickly dismissed me by saying, "so you want us to trust someone else", "that's not how we do business," and the way he handled the conversation was unnecessarily rude and abrasive. His tone of voice and reaction to my questions was so surprising that I immediately hung up the call. As a woman consumer, who knows very little about foundation work, I left the experience feeling intimidated and like an idiot for even calling. His tone made me feel as though going out and hiring a professional structural engineer was somehow ridiculous, when in reality, I am protecting myself and my money as any smart consumer should. FRS evaluated a leak in our basement corner wall and their solution for us was to add a drain in our driveway where water was pooling to hopefully solve our leak problem. We were 1st time new homeowners and looking back definitely feel like we got taken advantage by the "salesman" that got us to add the drain, for a lot of $$. After installation, the concrete along the drain immediately cracked and the drain has now sank. The water flows the opposite way, towards where our leak was. The workers clearly had no idea what they were doing and the end product looks horrible and doesn't even do the job it's supposed to do. We're trying to reach out to FRS currently to have them do the right thing and correct their mistakes. Please go elsewhere to people that know what they're doing, and avoid the headache. read more

We started working with FRS July of 2024. We had water coming into our walkout basement from the backyard. FRS recommended a full system all the way around our home. We spent more than $16k for the repair and water proofing of our home. The concrete over the interior gutters had to be redone 3 times before it stopped leaking (this was in an area that original was not wet in our basement). Our backyard was dug up and left an absolute mess which we then had to spend additional money to level and regrass the yard ourselves. End result, we're out thousands of dollars and still have water in our basement. read more

Would not recommend. Over sold and under delivered. Have in writing that the steel piers would be driven to bedrock.They only went 24 inches down. No engineer on site to monitor. They Said limestone was the reason they could not sink the piers deeper but I still had to pay full price. They should have used miniature excavator ram hoe to breakup limestone so they could go to bedrock like they said. Overall very disappointed. read more

I am still under warranty and they've had to come back multiple times and if you saw the pictures of my house you'd be shocked. Driveway sagging. Sidewalk destroyed. Porch still not fixed. Do not recommend. I was searching for crawlspace cleaning and encapsulation services and requested an inspection from FRS. The representative Johnathan was initially very polite and understanding, especially since I arrived late to the inspection. He was very professional and knowledgeable and presented a nifty presentation and lots of information. However, when it came to end of the inspection and pricing was brought up, he was very adamant about me making a decision right then and there. I was honest and let him know that I was searching around and looking for other bids/quotes but he still remained adamant, trying to push me into a decision right then and there. It became quite uncomfortable as he would type away on his computer and then repeat the same things again pushing me to a decision. My kids and I stepped outside as I was super uncomfortable and that helped Jonathan step outside the home as well. I asked him to send the estimate to my email when he pressed again. He very abruptly shook my hand and walked away as I was trying to tell him that I would try to make a decision in the upcoming days. He continued walking away to his car and seemed upset. It just left a really bad feeling and I felt quite uncomfortable and upset as I didn't understand why he had pressured me so much despite me stating my discomfort in making a decision right then and there as I have received bids from other companies and contractors for other projects and none of them demanded for me to decide to make a decision on hiring them and financing over 14k right then and there on the spot read more

When their inspector calls the day before and says your foundation inspection could take 90 minutes, believe him. Initially, I thought that seemed excessive, but when I learned everything that goes into a proper diagnosis and quote for repairs, I wouldn't want anything less. A couple other companies took less than 30 minutes on their inspections, but they missed several issues. The guy from Foundation Recovery systems was thorough, knowledgeable, and educational. I understand exactly what's going on, what the priorities are, and how it will be fixed. Also, their warranty is written in plain English and is easy to understand; it's for the life of the home, transferable to the next owner, and doesn't have a bunch of "legalese". I have a bad taste in my mouth. I had this company fix my foundation last January. I started the foundation repair process in August. The original guy was a salesman. He told us what we wanted to hear. He said they could repair the foundation from the inside without much demo. He made us sign and pay for everything in advance. Once the team finally came they. Said we were told wrong and significant demo would need to be done if we did it from the inside. Thankfully it was a relatively warm day and they were able to reinforce the foundation from the outside for the same price quoted to us. The actual contractors seemed kind and ethical. Just now I found a large crack on the other side of my house. I don't know if it is related, but it does not give me a good feeling. read more

Careful with these folks, they can oversell you on their system. I have a walk out basement showing a little moisture penetration in 2 small areas of my back wall. The salesman came to my home and suggested I install, basically, an inside French drain, placing their drainage system directly on my footer, after they jack hammed up my concrete floor. The guarantee was I would not receive water in my basement. Well, I don't have water in my basement currently so their warranty is worthless to me. Their sales pitch is really good but do your homework. They offered a 10% savings to me which I signed up for, but luckily I had 3 days to cancel the contract, which I did. Do some research beforehand about these subfloor basement drains. Most need to be BELOW the footer to be helpful. read more

Initially they did great work and got the job done in a timely manner. But they needed to return to level the backyard, when the ground was drier. No problem. This was done in the winter. Now we got an appointment at the end of May because it's the busy season. That day rained. Rescheduled. Took off work, no one came or called. Left a couple of voicemails, no call back. I finally get through and make another appointment for this past Wednesday. Crew shows up without the machine to level the yard. Foreman said they would come back on Friday (today) with the machine to do the yard. By 3 pm I called them bc no one came and no one called. I spoke with the receptionist and of course we were not on the schedule. I asked who I could speak to to have this issue resolved and a supervisor was supposed to call me back right away. Clearly, no one called back. My husband made the error of paying them in full before everything was completed. Don't make the same mistake. Haven't used the backyard all spring or summer. The project started late and ended late so I was forced to take additional vacation days I had not planned to use. The plan was to stabilize the foundation to prevent additional settlement. A year later this has clearly failed as the house continues to sink and large new cracks have appeared in the walls. This project was a total waste of money. They also failed to complete the necessary inspections with the city, so now the city is sending me letters asking for an inspection. But how, its all under new cement now?? read more

He made sure I understood everything. Said something about needing another guy to come out to do something with a laser to give a more accurate estimate than what he gave me. Said i would be getting a phone call and email. It has been a month now and have not heard back from anybody from this company. They have basically refused to respond to any of my phone calls or texts.
