In the old days, five minute relaxation after a vigorous power yoga class felt like an elaborate torture on most days. Even so, I did experience powerful feelings of unity and opennes, albeit rather infrequently - twice in many years of yoga practice. With continuous meditation and Taichi practice, as well as loving and patient guidance of the center manager, grandmaster Johwa, I was able to switch from a judgmental restless mind to deeper and brighter levels of harmony, joy, and peace. Powerful (and gentle) spiritual and energy experiences became a new norm in my life, almost daily. I have finally understood and experienced why meditation is the most direct and effective way to improve quality of life. Just like any new endeavor, in the beginning it may not be easy, but once a habit of deeper breathing and awareness develops, it carries out naturally to all areas of life, making it so much freer and enjoyable.

I knew I was out of shape but wanted to find that peace again with the one workout I love the most. I needed a place where I could ease back into my practice. A place that was comfortable, clean, and positive - with instructors who are patient and knowledgeable. Honor Yoga is AMAZING! The studio is beautiful. Heather and everyone I met there on Saturday was awesome. Nicole taught the Roots class and was so great. I highly recommend checking out this studio. They will definitely be seeing much more of me!

Class: Hot Ashtanga Remix with Carmen…read more As a first-time HOT yoga experience, I'm glad we had Carmen as our instructor. She made it easy to engage with the class. Provided clear guidance and 1-1 instruction on adjustments when needed. Despite the heat wave outside, I somehow didn't keel over in the 100* heat. The class is really easy to get into, and your body will thank you for it after. After all the stretching, you get to cool down as Carmen comes around to place a cool towel on your head and to perform an adjustment to your neck and shoulders. And while I absolutely loved it, Carmen was clear to note that if anyone was uncomfortable with the adjustment, they could opt out without judgment. She definitely creates a very warm (literally), and welcoming space! Thank you so much for having us Carmen and I'm absolutely looking forward to coming back for another class soon! Just a couple tips: - Bring iced water (liquid iv IF you need), maybe a light snack for after! - Bring a small towel (you will sweat!!l - Seriously don't wear cotton!!! I found leggings, a sports bray, and a light cover were perfect! - Check your yoga mat to see if it works for Hot Yoga! If not, no worries, just grab a microfiber towel to lay down onto the mat once you really get sweating cause things can get slippery!! - Don't be afraid to use the support blocks for your knees if needed! It really helps you get the best stretch possible without injuring yourself in the process ;) - Finally, just have fun with it and try to get the most out of the class! Your body will seriously thank you after :)
