Nasty tasing tacos. Meat was flavorless and the shells looked like ones you buy in store from Old El Paso or taco bell.

I eat lunch there at least once a week for lunch.The service an the food is the best in Whitney Texas.

Yes the food is all made fresh and delicious. Louis is the best waiter. We go here at least twice a month, sometimes more.

Use to love this place. Food was great and staff was always attentive and friendly. Went tonight to pick up a to go order. Encountered a bunch of kids working who were too busy on their phones to help us. After asking lady who seemed dazed and confused at the checkout about our pick up - we took what she told us to take. Soon thereafter, a rude kid told us that we needed to wait next time for someone to help us. Sweet girl - we did ask and if one of you rude kids would have gotten off your freaking phone to help us - we wouldn't be at this review would we. read more

Finally got a chance to try this restaurant since moving to Whitney. I really wanted it to be good because there aren't many choices here. Chips were good, salsa was bland. We had the tacos and an enchilada plate with sour cream sauce. Very bland, flavorless food. I think I'll stick with the Fishing Cow food truck for my street tacos that have awesome flavor! read more

This place is wonderful. Consistently delicious Tex-Mex dishes and the best chili rellenos I've ever had anywhere. I've eaten here for decades, pretty much every time I come to the lake, and I love their food. My friends who visit my lake house always want to eat here if we go out. I don't understand why anyone would write a bad review. I've had almost everything on the menu and it's always exceptional. They do close on holidays, including the week of Christmas through New Year's, because it's a family-owned business and they let everyone take off, which I think is nice. They are usually busy because locals know great food, but I've never had to wait for a table and the service is always spot on. I highly recommend Tres Hermanos. read more

The food here is excellent. That's why I come here. Prices aren't too bad either. I am so proud of the fact that they bounced back so beautifully after their poor little restaurant burnt down. My personal fave is the shrimp quesadilla. They use good-sized shrimp and the portions are very generous. If you're looking for ambiance and an environment to unwind in, look elsewhere -- the metal roof and walls resonate with the sounds of the shrieking spawn of the locals. read more

Monday, Memorial Day, very light crowd. party of 4 seated, drinks delivered. 3 people at the hostess stand. I waved until one saw me. I waved her over. She pushed one of the other guys to go help, he shook his head as he pushed the 3rd. I got up from the table, walked to the hostess stand, and asked for Equal. Everyone stood there with the mouth open, saying nothing. They did not know what Equal was. I spoke with the manager, (the owner's son) how no one would come to the table, his body language and demeanor could have cared less. I was ready to leave before placing an order. Our waitress was the only reason we stayed. This was not my first visit. City prices for canned foods. Hired children that would rather play than work. My weekend house is in Whitney, so I am there a lot. But never again at this establishment. read more

Tres has really good food really good , but over the past few months placing orders for take out and my order is more wrong than right. And they make up excuses as to why its wrong . I have a medical issue and can not eat certain things so have to substitute rice and beans for a salad I always ask for a salad with guac and sour cream . and sometimes get the rice and beans and I have to get someone to pick up the order for me . The response of the staff to me was check the order before leaving . I feel we should not have to check it .The order should be right . And I did not receive the extras I ordered with my meal as well. read more

Fresh, hot chips and good salsa (separate portions for each dinner guest!). One of the best cheese enchiladas of my lifetime. Everything fresh and homemade, with an extensive menu of traditional favorites, including tamales, chalupas, and an assortment of combination plates. My combination included a chalupa, guacamole and the aforementioned cheese enchilada, plus a side of rice and beans (ordered separately). My dinner companion ordered the chimichanga dinner; it was nearly the size of her head, and she ate herself sick because it was so delicious. This town of 2089 should not have such a fabulous restaurant. It's worth a camping trip to Lake Whitney just to eat here. No beer on the menu, but it's not altogether a dry county, so call for information if cerveza with your chiles rellenos is important. I was too hungry to take pics. Next time! read more

I was in town from Florida and ate here for my fix of Tex-Mex. I wasn't disappointed in the food but the real super star of the evening was our waitress Noaela. I'm not sure of the spelling but she was the most pleasant and cheerful person I've met in years. read more

We love Tres. The fajita special is great; I always get chicken. You have to pay extra for cheese and sour cream not worth complaining about considering the price of the fajitas is actually very cheap compared to other restaurants. I wish the tortillas were homemade. The salsa is amazing! Service is good. read more

Wouldn't let me in with my service dog. Cold queso the kind you can tell comes from a can. This is after I turned my car on to leave my dog outside. Seeing as they're the only restaurant worth eating at in Whitney.... we had to leave my car running going in and out to check on my poor friend, assigned to me for PTSD all while eating sub par Mexican food. Stopped in here with my dad and grandfather. Our server was not very friendly and avoided our table at all costs (might be because my grandfather has dementia and makes silly, but harmless remarks sometimes repeatedly, still not a good excuse). Free salsa and chips are served after you are seated. Our server, Yesenia, was first rate the entire visit. The red salsa is tasty, but has no heat. The server will happily bring you some green sauce from the back which has a good amount of heat. We mixed the green and red together which made for a perfect salsa. I had the spinach chicken enchiladas with cream sauce which were very good, each had a strip of green chile inside which was a great surprise. The included beans and rice were fine. My husband had the ground beef chile relleno plate, but should have ordered just one because they are huge and we ended up taking one home. I was very intrigued by the way they prepared the relleno. Instead of the standard dip in frothed egg white before frying, their relleno was wrapped in an egg white/corn meal pancake of sorts (not sweet) and then fried. It had a generous amount of meat in it and was quite good except for the cheese sauce served on top which seemed like a plain Velveeta sauce. We would definitely order this again without the cheese sauce and probably just use the red & green salsa mix as an accompaniment. This place is very popular and with good reason. We will definitely come back next time we are camping at Lake Whitney. read more
