Best Mexican food and the waitress and waiters are always polite and the service is exceptional

Puts the "meh" in Mexican. The good: their sweet tea was delicious. Strong, mildly sweet, and completely concealed the flavor of lake water. Unfortunately, that's where the culinary delight stopped for me. Since I'd eaten here many times before (in-laws love this place) and not been impressed, I contemplated the chicken fried steak. The waitress, although friendly, was not very knowledgeable and acted as if she didn't know it was on the menu. To be on the safe side, I went with the steak fajitas. All the food came out five minutes later. For a party of 10. Logic says that all the food was sitting back there waiting for us to walk in; all they had to do was slap it on a plate. Reality confirms this. The beans were blah with a conglomeration of cheese product I was able to peel off the top before consuming the mush. The pale orange hue of the rice gave away the lack of flavor. It was fluffy but cold. None of my food was hot. I wasn't expecting a lot because the reasonable prices don't afford the highest quality, but the texture of the meat and the way it dissolved in my mouth... eek. The tortillas were a crusty mess and, sadly, the fajita vegetables were not cooked. Usually my favorite part. I might expect as much if I dined five minutes before close but we came in just before the dinner rush on a Saturday night. The pico was void of color so imagine my surprise when I discovered it was too spicy to eat. The delicious tea washed away the pain. Oh, I almost forgot the chips and salsa. That should tell you about how good their Tex-Mex is. The chips are incredibly thick and the salsa is the consistency of watered down cocktail sauce but the flavor is okay. Parking lot is awkward and there's no changing table in the restroom. If I have to change my child's diaper in the car, this restaurant will never be a place I recommend for families. It says a lot if management can't spring for a changing table, at least in the women's restroom. The concrete floors and metal ceiling make it hard to hear the person across the table so no stars for ambience. This place is popular in a town with limited restaurant choices but I'd rather eat at home. read more

Tres Hermanos is a must visit every time we come out to a lake Whitney. The service is always great, super fast and the food is fresh and yummy. There is nothing we have ordered from that we haven't been pleased with. We've taken groups of friends there and they are excellent and serving large groups. Definitely a favorite restaurant. I'm sure we have been there at least 30 times! Next time you are in town, don't hesitate to give it a try, you won't regret it! read more

Our dining experience here was an absolute delight from start to finish. The chips and salsa and our entrees were very delicious and our server, Ryland, gave us the best service we'd had in a long time. The food was okay. The service was excellent. It's a cute place. We are from Houston, therefore our expectations for Tex-Mex are very high. This food, while tolerable, was too much Tex and not enough Mex. Super bland. If you are not accustomed to the caliber of Tex-Mex found in The Greater Houston Area, then this place is great. read more

I grew up in Whitney and my family has always gone here. Delicious food for a good price and nice people. I live in California now and I constantly crave their queso and taco salads served here. It can be a little loud if you go when it's busy, but hey! What restaurant isn't loud when people are having a good time with friends and good food? This is a good little Tex Mex restaurant. Their regular entrees as well as specialty entrees are well done. The side beans and rice are average and the chips and salsa are the same. My husband's favorite dish is a platter of grilled fish and shrimp. This is a very positive reference from an old commercial fisherman to find seafood fresh enough for his taste this far inland. Everything we have tried here we have liked. The only negative is that it is definitely not a "nice place" so if you're looking for a touch of elegance keep looking. read more

Prefer this place over Montes restaurant. The hot sauce is actually hot and the food hits the spot.

We were seated..ordered our drinks and was asked if we were ready to order and we said give us a few more minutes. 10-15 minutes later the manager asked if we were ready to order we said yes.. 5-10 more minutes we waited for our waitress to come back and she never came. I saw the manager tell her We were ready to order..still nothing. My fiancee drank the drink he was given which was flat and neither mine nor his tasted good. So in between us waiting the hostess was cleaning tables and she was far from easily putting them in the cart. I gave her a coupling bad looks from the noise and she continued to be really loud. As I got up to ask to talk to manager. .which he was busy with paying customers. . I politely asked how much we owe for the drink and I explained that our waitress never came to take our order..to which he couldn't talk..so as I walked to our table low n behold our waitress was there to which I stated the service was horrible and I already told manager and we left. We never got to try the food...but we won't ever because of the service! read more
