Had my first and well overdue dental appointment today. The office is clean and has a very calm atmosphere. The staff is professional, friendly and compassionate. Dr Trevino is great. He explains things well and doesn't talk over your head or make you feel stupid if you have questions. He's compassionate and it's obvious that he genuinely cares and wants to do what is best for you as his patient. What can be said about Dr. Trevino that hasn't been said already? Honestly, in my opinion, he is the best dentist I've had; and that comes with considering all the dentists I've been to over my life-which is quite a few encompassing both practices and brand names. Let me start with that, as you know with restaurants I prefer local versus chain companies; but I never thought of that rule applying to businesses. When my benefits specialist commented about that regarding dentists, I considered-and it's true. A practicing dentist-at least Dr. Trevino-certainly cares more and surpasses a chain dentistry. In this sense I refer to my experiences with Mint dentistry and and Trinity. Trinity dental put a crown in that kept falling out so routinely that I kept having to go back, and it took a practicing dentist to seat that crown in such a way that it lasted for several years. You may also refer to my earlier reviews regarding two different dentists I'd been to in Wichita Falls. But more favorable for Trevino is this: When I was in Wichita Falls, I saw a dentist at Mint who told me that I "had cavities on nearly every tooth" and that I "needed a lot of work and maybe multiple crowns". I never followed through with any of that as I didn't have insurance to cover it. Once I got back here and found Trevino, he told me that opinion was incorrect and I did not need all that much work, nor did I have very many cavities nor a need for multiple crowns. The chain dentist was trying to put the hat on me as my grandfather would say. Dr. Trevino has since made me feel very comfortable with going to the dentist as I so frequently avoided for fear of having to have so much work. He had also informed me that if there is a minor issue that is not bothering me, then all we really need to do is keep an eye on it until it becomes a problem. All my life I had a pointed-conical-tooth right in the front of my bottom row, and it had been scraping my lip quite a bit. Prior dentists didn't seem concerned with it but Dr. Trevino said there was no negative aspect to removing it, and it would likely help my teeth fall into a much better looking form, so he removed it without any issue and was correct that my bottom teeth look much better without that conical tooth being pushed out. I also had a recent issue where a large, old filling fell out from my tooth while on my lunch break one night. I sent a text to the overnight number they have and they got me in the very next morning. The tooth was in the upper back, and they had no trouble sanding it down to keep it out of the bite and to put another filling in-saving a lot of pain and hassle of having to potentially have a root canal and crown, to which Dr. Trevino said wouldn't be necessary unless the filling had issues-which is has not since. Many chain places would probably sell me on a root canal and crown. The staff here has always been super friendly, as well as funny and casual while holding a serious passion for their job. They care about doing the job right every time and won't sell you on unnecessary work. It's the first time that I really felt comfortable and unafraid to go to the dentist, for fear of being told I need to dig deep into my bank account. I've always had swift visits, and they are often flexible. When I had to go in for the aforementioned filling, they had other patients who had appointments where I didn't, I didn't mind waiting as they already had me in and couldn't come back in the afternoon because of work, so once they finished up with the other patients after getting the numbing medicine in, they got right to work. Honestly, one of the best dentists in the area, I would recommend his practice to any and every person that was looking for a good, reasonable dentist to go to. read more

Dr. Trevino and his staff are truly the best. He takes the time to get to know you and develop a treatment plan that meets your individual needs. After quitting smoking this year, I decided I wanted to improve my smile. Dr. Trevino explained all of my options then made an honest recommendation based on my goals and history (I struggle with teeth sensitivity.) 2 weeks into treatment and my smile looks better than it has in years! We bring our young daughter here and she doesn't even mind coming in. The Dr. Is great with kids and explains everything to us. When we have questions, we get thorough answers and when we schedule or have to reschedule they work with us and make it easy for us to get in. Dr. Trevino traveled to my usual dentist's office, in order to extract a molar and provide a bone graft for an eventual implant. You don't really expect personalized treatment from a specialist - especially a surgeon - but Dr. Trevino came in smiling, and immediately put me at ease. Before he did anything, he discussed the background and purpose for the extraction, and I sensed that he was doing that as much for my benefit as to assure himself that this was the right course of treatment. As the procedure progressed, he described everything thoroughly, and was SO gentle. He has the "wiggle the cheek so the patient doesn't notice the pinch from the injection" down pat! This was just a one-time visit, but I would choose Dr. Trevino as my regular dentist in a heartbeat! read more

Excellent Dentist I had 8 crowns done by Dr Trevino, and all were perfect. Very profesional, friendly and no pain. He lets you know each step of the process before he does it. While doing the last two crowns the assistant botched an imprint. The imprint was a little skewed. It was after 6 pm but Dr Trevino told me about it and took the time - another hour - to redo the whole process to make it perfect. He could have just put the defective crown on and tried to make it work but wanted it perfect. I loved what he said: He had a habit and commitment of doing everyone's teeth as if they were his own.
