Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. The staff is extremely unprofessional, especially Ann McKay. Anytime I had an issue that needed to be taken care of, she was and cold and twice she failed to have a maintenance guy come to my apartment. She set up my time for move out, and when I came in with my keys, she told me that I would have to wait another day. When I asked her how long it would take to get my deposit back, me that IF I get my deposit back, it can take at least 30 days. She was snotty and disgusting. As far as the apartment goes, there was a roach issue. I also found fleas in my apartment, and when I contacted the office to let them know that the carpets needed to be cleaned, they completely I had to hire a professional carpet cleaning company. They either were from the previous tenants or From out in the grass. Constantly, the lawn service was neglected, most of the time the grasp being dry and crusty as they were not watering. I cannot count how many times the pool was shut down and we were not allowed to use it for days if not weeks on end. read more

I just moved out 10/3/25, when I first moved in I was told in between each tenant they replace the carpets, because they're a pet friendly complex, and paint because they offer an accent wall so they do it regardless. Well add all that to the pile of lies this management tells people to get them to sign. I'm paying $60 for nail holes I could have just done myself and $270 for a new carpet. Renter beware! I was there one year and this was consistently my experience: The pet area was hardly ever manicured, so it gets infested with flees easily (they'll blame the dogs digging). The gates malfunction basically weekly so you're either trapped in/out or they're just left open. Same with the pedestrian gates. The water feature in the lake stopped working for months (was still broken when I left) so the water just sat there rotting and started to smell. People stopped picking up after their dogs in several areas and nothing was done about it. This past summer the pool was open regardless of several health and safety violations, so the FD showed up midday to shut it down (suspiciously opened like a day later). The amount of bugs I had in my apartment on the THIRD floor was puzzling. Forget 24 hours notice for entering your apartment, several (at least 3 I know of) tenants experienced maintenance men using their key and just walking into their homes while they were home! I was completely disappointed in every aspect of this apartment complex, and they couldn't even separate gracefully. I don't love being 'that person' to leave a negative review, but after I received my bill today (10/27/25) less than one month from move out from COLLECTIONS no less (they didn't even send an original to me?? I have perfect credit?? In this economy?! Plz.) I genuinely feel the need to protect people from this place. There are WAY better less expensive places than this establishment. Love this community! My pup and I moved in three weeks ago and we've made so many friends already. The apartment and grounds are super clean and they have a very nice dog park. Gym has new professional equipment and the pool is amazing! I looked at over a dozen apartments and so very happy to have found this place. Buyer beware - especially for buildings along the west and south side. The acreage between this apartment complex and Laurel Rd. & Kings Trail Rd. is now being developed. Typical start time for the construction activities is 7am and shutdown is typically 5pm. Expect ongoing construction noise along with an increase of dust in the apartment & in/on your car for the foreseeable future. REVIEW.... In general: 1 Note that the sewer and water are set up for what's called the Base Rate. The Base Rate for Water is $23.82 and the Base Rate for Sewer is $30.12.... No matter how much is (not) used up to 1000 gallons. So, if you move out early yet have to keep your lease for a couple of months, expect a bill for an extra $53.94. Owners/Management denied the residents access to the pool/clubhouse/gym for over two months (April/May 2020) due to pandemic. No credit of ANY kind was returned to the residents. 2 Stairs - Each flight of stairs are 20 steps with no landing or change in direction - a great workout! Current savings are $10/mo. ($0.33/day) for the second, and $20/mo. ($0.67/day) for the third floor. Remember grocery day and be careful for what you ask. 3. Every apartment has a "spring loaded closing action" on their entrance and balcony doors. These doors "auto slam" very loudly if not purposely closed quietly..... Enough said. Management actually sent out a nasty gram about this. 4. Common areas: The gates typically work, unless lightning strikes close, or some drunk resident attempts to drive through one. (That took over two months to repair). Remember - "Gated" does not necessarily mean "secure". One can literally walk into the premises without accessing any gate - only two screen doors. YOU DO NOT GET A refrigerator or a dishwasher like the ones in the clubhouse! The Apple computer has been tagged out of service for months due to socially distancing... Evidently, not a chance of relocation. The non-heated swimming pool is very child friendly... Well over 30% of the surface area appears to be only 0 to 3 feet deep. The gym is well appointed with decent pro-grade equipment. NO Auto External Defibrillator available in the gym/pool area(?). Very nice BBQ grills and fireplace. The "Scenic community walking trails" appear to be typical width sidewalks from the buildings converging onto an 8' wide concrete sidewalk that loosely circles the centrally located pond. Oddly, the only "Doggie Pots" on the property are stationed along this trail. Be aware of wind direction when en-route to the pool, gym, clubhouse or... the BBQ grills. Apartment reviewed: Two bedroom "Verona". Pros: 1. Well laid out. 2. White walls and dark floors make the apartment appear large. 3. All doors have levers and not knobs. 4. Nice sized shower in the master bath. 5. Hurricane rated windows and exterior doors. 6. Great fire protection. Sprinklers throughout, audible alarms and fire alarm pull activators on every level. Cons: 1. All the wrong sounds from the clothes washer and dishwasher. They are extremely noisy and they (along with the dryer) have no sounds to notify one that their cycle is complete. 2. NO "exhaust" fan built-in to the kitchen area. The microwave fan only pulls up one's odoriferous emanations through the microwave and pushes it out of the top (with minimal filtration) and back into the apartment for all to enjoy. 3. Refrigerator - a "classic" mid-century with freezer atop. Great for working on your squats, general dexterity and practicing yoga. One may want to employ an anti-fatigue mat for compulsory kneeling. 4. AC/heat air filter replacement FREE from management is only a MERV four. Recommend a much higher MERV rated filter to combat dust/allergens. 6. Minimal kitchen drawers. ONE 16" wide and ONE 7" wide drawer. 7. Kitchen cabinets most likely will require a three step step stool to access upper areas. I'm 5'10" and use one regularly. 8. Monthly water/sewer bill used to be $85ish, however as of January 2021 have been increased to over $110. Electric depends on the season... some $60 thru $90 monthly. read more

My wife and I moved here late 2019 and really began to enjoy it. Since then it has drastically gone down hill. Management is absent, more residents have moved in and cleanliness has gone off the rails. We go for walks with our dog and routinely have to step over massive piles of dog poop. We constantly have to monitor our dog sniffing around to ensure he isn't sniffing poop. When complaints are logged, management will attempt to help, but it isn't enough. Doors on each end of the property that should be magnetically locked are constantly broken as people allow the doors to constantly slam behind them. The floors separating apartments are brutally thin where we hear our upstairs neighbor's every waking step. We had a decorative item stolen from outside of our door after it was there for months and nothing was done about it. The garbage area is an absolute DISASTER. Get a tetanus shot before trying to go in to recycle anything. In fact, just don't go near the garbage... it's horrifying. The place has perks. The pool is nice. The gym is typically nice (when management decides to restock cleaning wipes... even during COVID19 they are often empty). If the property were clean, that would help. I may be picky with cleanliness, but piles of poop all over the sidewalk is a bit much... The place doesn't deserve its current 5 star rating. If you're considering this place, you be the judge. Go check it out. Odds are with numerous other apartment complexes popping up in Venice you will be better off viewing other options. read more

I have not even moved in yet (Aug 15th) but I have nothing but great things to say about these apartments! From the beginning of my search these apartments have been top on my list. From the convenience of location to the affordable prices I was sold! The process of touring an apartment during Covid-19 times was nerve-racking but with the help of Nicole the process was so easy and seamless! We moved in in August of 2020. Looked everything over and I really liked what they had to offer. The first two months were okay. I'd get emails back on questions I had or problems that were going on but it seems like the longer we live here, the worse things get. My biggest complaint was it was a nonsmoking community, I being a nonsmoker and hate the smell of any sort really wasn't happy when it was coming through my vents. I complained many times and it just wouldn't get fixed. Also our propane for the amenities was out for 3 weeks. We pay for those things so I was not happy when we couldn't use them. All our gates are usually broken as well, no fobs needed since the doors are always unlocked. I don't own a dog but there's plenty of them in my building and I've seen dog poop in our stairwells a couple times. The lack of cleanliness is really disappointing for what we pay here. Probably won't be staying much longer. As well as a couple other friends of mine who live here also. read more
