Most recently at a house in Union City I manage just this last month in April to do roof repairs & a new gutters throughout. Tri-City is a family owned company that's been around for years. Tri-City Roofing has been an AMAZING find for our roofing needs. We found out suddenly that our roof shingles may be failing so Tri-City was our first call. Greg came out very quickly for the initial inspection. He was courteous, honest, and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They gave us their assessment within a few hours of their inspection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We needed a whole new roof. We were in shock but Tri-City helped us understand all of the different aspects of why. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We emailed many, many questions. We always got very prompt, detailed responses (sometimes within the hour of sending the email!)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When we got the bid, it was very competitive to the other bids we had received. Tri-City's bid though had many more options as well as a breakdown of ALL of the costs. When we signed our contract with them, we felt that there would NOT be any "gotchas" during the project where the contractor would say, "Oh we have to charge you more than we thought". [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tri-City gave us the option to go to the roofing supply company, QXO/Al's Roofing Supply, to select which roof we preferred.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jeff at QXO was very helpful and reinforced what a good company Tri-City was to work with. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When asked about scheduling, again, Tri-City & their office staff Jeannine and Viviana were super helpful. They were able to get us on their schedule quickly to work around things from our schedule[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once they started working, the foreman Oscar was easy to access and again, very responsive and helpful with our many questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were various crews that came at different stages of the total roof replacement. Each of the workers wore Tri-City Roofing shirts, acted professionally and courteously and worked hard the entire time they were here. We were told the project would take @ 3 days to complete. They were completely DONE in TWO days!!!! We were able to take photos and observe the different stages of their stellar work. At the end of each day, the workers made sure the house, garage, & grounds were clean and free of debris. They were very careful about the pets we have as well. When we started this project we were worried and overwhelmed. Once we met Tri-City Roofing and got to know them through our many, many questions via emails and phone calls, we knew that we were in good hands. I had a leak in the roof so I gave Tri-City Roofing a call. They came out pretty quick to assess the situation and give me an estimate. I had the option to get the leak fixed or do a "roof maintenance" for about double the cost which would cover fixing any leaks, cleaning the gutters, doing new sealants, fixing any tiles, etc. In the 10+ years we've owned the house, we never did roof maintenance so we opted for that. The only bad part was that they were not able to come for about a month due to their workload (this was a couple months back in the rainy season) but when the did, they just contacted me the day before to let me know they were coming and then they just got to work. They actually fixed two leaks, repaired several tiles, cleaned the gutter, and did a bunch of other work so the roof maintenance package seemed well worth it for me. I'd recommend them if you need roofing work done! read more

I got three quotes from three different roofers. The first guy showed up spent over an hour with me showing all the cool stuff he was going to do and the great roof I was going to get. I remember thinking, "Is this guy done yet?" and then when he showed me the quote, I said "you are joking." The next guy was a bit less but I had to sit through another presentation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When Oscar from Tri-City showed up, he spent ten minutes with me and said he would send me the quote through e-mail. I said, "that's it" he said yes, its all on-line. A day later, I received the quote in my email with pdf files on colors, etc[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Needless to say, he was more impressive to me than the guys with whom I spent hours. So I hired Tri-City - The first day, six guys showed up to remove the old roof, and for the next three days they worked diligently at replacing the roof in 90 degree weather. There were no surprises. The quote came out almost exactly as I had expected. These guys were hard-working and efficient. When they left, not a scrap could be found of debris. Every day they cleaned up after themselves. Needless to say, I was quite impressed. I have attached a few drone shots my neighbor took of them working. On a side note - they didn't expect payment until the job was done. I needed an all-new roof installed within a couple of months as it had been mandated by my home insurance. Tri-City came out and inspected the property - a two-story dwelling - and promptly produced an estimate. They gave me a start date within my deadline from the insurance company, and their crew did the job within 4 days, including repairs to damaged eaves and all new gutters, and removed all debris. I met the insurance deadline and kept my insurance thanks to Tri-City. I would readily recommend them to anyone. read more

Even though I have a clay tile roof, there have always been some minor leaks in my old Union City house. A couple of years ago the trouble spots got worse, so, I decided, because of their Yelp reviews, to call Tri-City Roofing. All I can say is FANTASIC professional service! Initially, detailed photos of the roof were taken, showing some broken tiles and all of the visible trouble spots - this was a free assessment, before any work had been contracted. I had extra tiles available and once a fair price was decided for the repair work, it was put on their schedule . I didn't even need to be their when the work took place .[[HIGHLIGHT]]Oscar kept me informed and in the loop, he is an excellent job foreman with great communication skills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] His crew did exactly what the job called for. With all the recent rainstorms, we had a huge leak in our ceiling. Our realtor recommended Tri-City. They were prompt, offered to just fix the leak, but when we found out that our shingles had no plywood underneath, we opted to replace the entire roof. They were efficient, replaced the entire roof in 4 days during a dry week in February, and cleaned everything up without a trace. Now that the storms are continuing, we feel happy and safe knowing that we don't have any leaks for now! read more

Removed and replaced entire roof. The estimate said the roof would take 2-3 days, but they almost completely finished in 1 day, just had to finish the next day with 2 hours of work. When meeting with Newark City inspector he said that Tri-City Roofing is one of the best roofing companies in the Bay Area. We started with Five/six roofers, estimates, technical Q/A. I figured couple of them came to my home were sales persons- and higher price, I think added commission of their own. One was lower than TRI-CITY. I was not happy with contract language and material to be used in contract were all over the place. So even though TRI-City quoted higher than lowest, I/we chose Tr-City. Simple contract language one can understand, nothing to hide under the rug. So we three neighbors hired TRI-CITY to do reroofing and new rain gutters. Friendly, described a set of options with their recommendation, and why they made that recommendation. Their care in preparing for the job comes through - asking detailed questions - which helped me feel we wouldn't have surprises later. I am writing this review today to share an experience of extraordinary customer service. After roofing my home, I discovered what potentially could be a warranty issue. I called the company and got a warm response and a visit to my home from the owner. After reviewing the work, the owner, without hesitation, got his foreman over to take care of it. Then, when I inspected the work when I got home, I had questions. Again, I was met with prompt and courteous service. They again came back on time and repaired it professionally and quickly without issue. Sometimes, you learn more about a company when there is a problem then if there were no problem at all. When having to do big House project budgets and quality work is always what you think first. Our roof was in ok condition but we an issue on one side of the house with a leak that would develop after heavy rainfall. And with this climate change it has been often. A few of our neighbors had new roof I spoke to them and asked about their experience. From the 10 Neighbors we spoke to one company was mentioned and that was Tri-City. I did get estimates from two other companies. Greg came out to meet me and we went over what would be done. I did mention that I had a problem area and may be the wood would need to be replaced. He said once the roof would be stripped and he would share his finding and all repairs would be made to code. His price was competitive and expected results would be to what I expect. Oscar and his team came out. They were professional and efficient. My biggest concern was as they stripped The roof I wanted to make sure I had no nails left in the yard. I have children, My kids often play out in the yard and I do have two little ones will tend to wander out without shoes sometimes. Your biggest concern can be stepping on a nail that has been rusted. The day the roof was being stripped We left as t was loud and noisy. when we returned I was very pleased to find not a single nail was to be found. my husband came home and hour before they finished and he found the guy walking around with a metal detector to make sure not a single mail was left behind. They covered and cleaned up efficiently. Greg directed me to pick my roof from his wholesaler, whom I will leave a review for as well. We choose the presidential, shingle, grey black roof. We had options from tiles vs shingle but after being educates I was won over with shingles. And I choose my siding and gutters. Over all it took about a week. They did damage control by replacing plywood in areas of concern and any molded, weak, rotten wood was replaced. We did run into surprised but I wasn't hit with a crazy high bill for it. He was fair. I couldn't be more happier with the result. We had it done in summer and we are coming close to a year. Yes I waited on my review only Because I wanted to see how the roof would withhold the rain. With climate change my roof has held up superb. Me and my neighbor are two happy customer. One advantage of having a excellent roof Is I'm always a high candidate for solar panels. Every solar sales person who walks the street says your roof quality makes us good candidates. I can smile and yes, I know. Thank you Tri-City your quality work shows from miles away. We used Tri-City for our reroofing job this year. Our home has a nearly 40yr old concrete tile roof, and the tiles were in good shape but the underlayment (if you can even call what the builders used underlayment) was starting to go. This was a common problem in our HOA, and we were referred to Tri-City by one of our neighbors. We also had old solar water heating panels that had long since been disconnected, and a shed that needed reroofing as well. They knocked it all out in a week, as scheduled, even with the last minute request to add the shed. I was really pleased with Tri-City all around. Jeannine in the main office was great, very responsive and always made sure I had the info I needed from the quote process thru the payment. Oscar the foreman was excellent as well, both during the estimate process and once the job was started. He was pretty no-nonsense and clear whenever I talked with him, and he had good insight into our roof and some recommendations to help reduce future dry rot, aided certainly by having done another roof in our HOA. Lastly, even the workers were great. They weren't like your average workers (or at least stereotypes thereof), chatting it up a lot and taking frequent breaks. They were hard working and efficient, and went to good lengths to clean up each day and particularly at the end of the job. My wife was home during most of the job, and she could hear them chatting a bit, but not nearly as much as she'd expected. The key point for me was when I got home early one of the days, one of the workers waved me to stop before I pulled up to make sure there weren't any stray nails where I was about to pull up the car, and then gave me the okay. Oscar and his team did great job in replacing flat roof in my backyard ADU. Each and every step of the job was completed with perfection. Starting from Oscar's visit for initial inspection for quote till the job completion, everything was executed very professionally and timely manner. Though the project was replacing the flat roof by a 3 layer torch-down roof, they went ahead and took care of small little details to make the ADU look great and complete. Our 30 year old roof was approaching time to be replaced but due to a sudden windstorm in the bay area where many shingles flew off our roof, I needed to urgently replace the roof. I reached out to four roofers and Tri-City's owner Greg was the first to arrive to do an assessment. Greg was very friendly and performed the assessment without being pushy. In addition, he helped fended off a neighborhood dog from attacking me (but that is another story altogether). Like any major project, there were many small road bumps but Greg, his foreman, Oscar, and their administrative teams were always very communicative and worked with us in resolving all issues. He fixed it during the inspection, and told us that if it leaks again, call him for a quotation for repair. I offered to pay for the time and material but he would not accept. Now after another heavy storm, I am pretty sure that he actually fixed it (without charging me a penny). Tri-City Roofing was professional and helpful when we had to fix the roof on the new house that we purchased a year ago. Since then they made repairs related to termites and general loose tiles on our roof. They were also responsive later on when they came out to put in new vents and replace flashing on top of a kitchen vent that had problems during a storm. Recently we wanted to get a quote on the gutters and we were told that they don't do gutters unless they also do a job on the roof at the same time. I was surprised that they are not willing to work on gutters, which is a bit disappointing but I was told that they subcontract this kind of work out, so that's something to note if you are looking for gutters only. As a result of getting gutter estimates from other roofers, I have been told that my previous roofer did a poor job as nails were sticking through the eaves , which would cause water to leak. Greg was very responsive and came out to look at the problem with the people who worked on our roof and determined that the issue was not created by their repairs but part of the original work on the roof. Greg also reassured me that the problem is aesthetic and won't cause any issues with leaks and I do appreciate how they followed up and explain things to me. I judge a business based on how they respond to issues and they have been a good local Fremont business for me to deal with. read more

Tri-City Roofing just completed a roof replacement for our house in Menlo Park. Everything about our experience with Tri-City was spectacular. We got bids from 4 different roofers. Not only did Tri-City give us the best price, but they were clear and honest in setting expectations on the process. They were the only roofer who clearly understood the regulations in Menlo Park regarding permitting and energy-efficient roofing. (WARNING: there are many unethical contractors who offered to do improper work without permits). Once we signed the contract, Tri-City pushed Menlo Park to get us permits and inspections ASAP (we were in a rush and also had potential rain coming). They completed the work in only a few days and communicated well throughout the process. I would give 6 stars if possible! read more

Our 80 year old tile roof finally failed on a section of our home where the roof peak wasn't made to accommodate a tile roof. It occurred during a brutal rainstorm just a few weeks ago. Tri-City was quick to respond to our request although they were inundated with calls due to the rainstorm. Their foreman came to assess our roof a couple of days later and mapped out a creative plan to address this particular section of our roof. Back in Jan/Feb when it rained a lot, one of our skylights leaked. Frantically called several roofers, Tri-City was the only one willing to come out to check it in 3 days while others would want us to wait 1-2 weeks. When Greg showed up as scheduled, he immediately went up on the roof and found the clogging arround the skylight caused by moss growth which lead to rainwater buildup and leaking through. He fixed the problem for us and our skylight has been free of leaking since then. I also like there is always someone in their office working as a liaison between customer and Greg. It makes the communication so much easier. We recommend Tri-City roofing and would use them again for roof repairs and remodeling. read more

How have I not left a review before? Well seeing that my roof was replaced in 2011 and I still have them come give the roof a once over and clean the gutters yearly. I think that speaks volumes. Not only have I had TriCity replace my roof... But they are now my Dad's go to roofing needs company. AND I have referred them to my friends to use. The best review a company can get is someone continuing to be a customer and referring others to use their business. PS - They even work with my dogs. These guys are great. Had them come out to address a small leak in my roof. They pin pointed the leak and they recommended doing maintenance of the entire roof which consisted of fixing the leak, replacing some broken tiles, cleaning the gutters and general maintenance. The crew was great and the office was very helpful in coordinating the process and communicating what was going on. Tri City Roofing is the best. They communicate quickly and are always friendly on the phone. With the rainy season everyone needs work done and roofers are very busy. Tri City took care of the issues that needed attention to not cause a leak and then scheduled the rest of the job once they had more time and no rain. The two brothers that worked for us were friendly and helpful and I know they took pride in their work. Tri City has replaced two Composition Roofs on our 50 year old house in Fremont and now did repair work on our Tile roof. I Trust them to do a good job. read more

They initially started with 5 stars. Then slowly lost them. When we first contacted them regarding re-roofing, they sent someone over the next day. Emails and phone calls were quickly returned. We decided to give them our business. They then asked if we would reschedule our original agreed on date to accomodate another customer who had an emergency and wanted their roof done on the dates we chose. Our roof is 99% done, it looks great except for the unfinished area.They were paid in full (because the rescheduled date landed on days we were working) The original scheduled date was on our days off. Promises to come out and finish the roof are unfulfilled. Is this what we have to look forward to if the roof starts to leak? Thirteen thou$ later... Horrible Service. Called them to schedule a roof inspection for a property. Set up an appointment for "Open Time" on a Friday when I was off. Waited around for them and they never showed up. Called on Monday to find out what happened and was given the excuse that they were busy and couldn't make it. Um, hello, a phone call would have been nice. The inspector had to realize at some point that they were "too busy" to make it out, they could have called so that I didn't have to wait around for them to show up. So I call in to find out what happened and am told they were too busy but guess what the inspector came out on Sunday while you weren't there and did the inspection. I question whether they showed up or not. Provided a "report" if you call it that and a list of "so-called" repairs yet the report indicated things were satisfactory. I won't be using them any further and won't recomment them at all. read more

Great Service, Great Price and Outstanding service with a smile. Love the roof and they were very fast. They have answered all my phone calls, emails and questions in a timely fashion. They came out when they said they would and very helpful in picking out the colors and materials. The gutters are high quality and we couldn't be happier. My roof was probably the toughest of tough. Three layers. One wood shingle and two comp shingle. They had to really dig down deep on this one and replace all the plywood as well. The finished results are amazing and they were fast and did an outstanding job. They also did my father-in-law's place and he is very hard to please if you know what I mean. That's how I found out about them. I got 4 bids and these guys were the most fairly priced without any gotchas. They included everything on the proposal and nothing was a surprise. I called them for a quote for my mom's place. There was a leak and it was time for a replacement. The office staff was quick to respond and very professional. Greg, the owner came over the very next day and he gave me a very reasonable quote. I talked it over with my mom and we went back to see if he could go a little lower which is was happy to do. I called the office to see if I could get samples of the product that was to be used. Greg personally came to drop off samples of the shingles so that I could choose a color. When the work started, I guess I assumed that Greg was going to be on the job as well but this was not the case. I love home improvement so I was on the roof with them quite often to see the progress. The sheeting on the roof as pretty thin in some places that I noticed but they didn't replace. I mentioned one area to, i guess was the lead worker on the job, and he hesitantly replaced it, but not that strongly. I would say that the work was ok and it did the job. They don't provide the best quality work but they were very reasonably priced and they worked very quickly. read more

Tri-City put a new roof of my rental house in Fremont and repaired termite damage. Great work, cleaned up after. Looked so good, neighbors all asked how much it cost.
