He then looked at the tire and asked if we had a spare tire. We did but IT was flat. He suggested we call Shorty and see if he had any tires the size I needed. He didn't, but they would be in there tomorrow. Luke then went a got a jack and took of the flat and had the flat spare filled with air, and put it on for us so we could at least get home. I offered Luke some money and he refused and said he was glad he could help. My bank scheduled me for an inspection after a collision. I asked and confirmed that: 1) I would not pay anything for the inspection at time of pickup, and that 2) I would not have to repair my vehicle with the same company that completed the inspection. (I have a local mechanic I trust already.) Then I receive a form from Caliber Collision requiring (quote): AUTHORIZATION TO REPAIR. (Required field) I hereby authorize Caliber Collision to complete the necessary repairs to my vehicle. I understand that payment in full will be due upon release of the vehicle, including any supplement charges. AUTHORIZATION TO DISASSEMBLE. (Required field) I understand I may be charged for disassembly, reassembly and/or partially completed work, based on Caliber's normal hourly labor rate. POWER OF ATTORNEY. (Required field) I hereby appoint Caliber Collision and its authorized employees to be my attorney-in-fact to sign my name on any check or draft covering repairs to my vehicle and to negotiate any such check or draft. So to get inspected, you have to: 1) immediately pay for all work related to the inspection including vehicle disassembly, 2) pay to have the vehicle fully repaired on-site, and 3) grant Caliber Collision power of attorney.
