This service is THE WORST towing company I've ever dealt with! Their customer service seriously SUCKS. They are definitely not customer friendly and choose not to work with you as a customer. I highly recommend in developing your own company and do it yourself. read more

On the way from Wisconsin to Arizona, we had a fuel pump failure, leaving us and our dog stranded at the side of I35. After a complete snafu with AAA, they finally dispatched Allen's Seevice to the correct location. Our tow driver, Mike, was professional, personable, and most of all, very kind. And I recently had my first accident in my entire life. tow truck showed up within the time estimate. Driver was very friendly and accommodating . He dropped me off at my house. He allowed me to vent because I was shaking, almost crying. Another human was hurt because of me. I thought I might loose my license. He said only positive things. My car was disabled in the middle of an intersection yesterday. 10/15/18 I called Allen's and they were able to get a service truck to me within 15 minutes. Jeremiah was the driver and he was the most professional, helpful, gentleman. He made me feel comfortable and safe. He gave me a ride to the service station and was a great conversationalist. They towed my wrecked car at the request of the Burnsville police. My first contact with them was over a week later when they sent the legally required letter explaining the vehicle had a lien and would be scrapped if I didn't pay it. There was no itemization of the charges and no explanation of how much time I had before they would dispose of the vehicle. When I called the manager, he said he was doing the legal minimum. He did not explain the details of the $600 in charges, and when I said that was high for a tow, he said, "that's what we charge here". The admin person I spoke to first, said there was a winch charge and a clean up charge. I didn't see the guy using a broom and don't think they are going to vacuum my totaled car, and the winching was on a flat road in daylight, no different from loading a fully functional car. They are charging the maximum legally allowable fees and tacking on whatever they can because they know an insurance company isn't going to bother checking up on them. He kept saying he didn't get what my problem was, just call my insurance company. He admitted the letter sounded like it was for someone who had abandoned their vehicle, but he was flabbergasted that I would request a bill before getting what is basically a collections letter. I know of no other business that operates like that. When I started asking simple questions about the meaning of the legalese, he quickly rattled off how after 30 days I'd get another notice and 15 days for something else, but then returned to his fake shock about how I expected this service for free. I never asked for any price reductions, only explanations of what the costs were, what's normal, and how much time I had to respond. read more

I think towing is one of those industries where people only report on their bad experiences. I was recently in a car accident and had my car towed. The tow truck arrived promptly and prior to loading my vehicle on the flatbed asked me if there was anything I needed to retrieve. He was polite and friendly. When I called to find out what my next move was the operator told me exactly what steps I need to follow with the insurance companies. When I showed up to sign the release for the insurance company and retrieve my belongings the person working the counter was very polite and helpful. They even let me in the office 15 minutes prior to the posted opening time. Maybe others had bad experiences, but I found them nothing but helpful and accommodating. read more

Tell the City of Savage to investigate Allen's Towing for price gouging, extortion, fraud, abuse of towing authority and over charging consumers above the basic towing fee for those vehicles that are towed without the owners' consent. The following incident took place in July 2017: Today I parked my car in a public lot in the wee early hours in the morning, around 3:30 a.m. I came back at 7 a.m. and it was gone. There was a big white box truck blocking the sign announcing there was a farmers market and the lot was used for a farmers market today. I understand WHY I was towed. However, I found out it was called in just 30 minutes after I parked it there and the towing company charged me $230. The OWNER of the place was the one who handled the payment and would not budge on the price. I waited in front of their building for four hours until they opened (and they were only open for one hour out of the entire day from 11 a.m. to noon. What kind of hours are those?) On my bill, it says the basic tow fee is $125. I just called them and they said their basic tow fee for customers is $85 plus $3/mile. This company is an example of the type of predatory businesses that are hurting the reputation of real genuine and honest citizens and small businesses. I am going to create a page on change.org and start a petition. Please sign it, so I can post it on their Facebook page and other social media sites. I will also be lodging a formal complaint with City of Savage and State of Minnesota. According to the statutes (you can look them up online under 'towing authority'), this company is in violation and is deliberately overcharging. read more

The front desk service of this company is a joke. Visiting friends from out of town. My truck was towed off the street for a snow emergency (2"). I called in and was told i could pick it up at 9. I arrived at 8:55 and sat in front till 9:30 before the lady opened door. She had been sitting at her desk the whole time. Visible through the window. She unlocked the door on my second attempt. I was told i was lucky because they weren't scheduled to open till 11:00. It was very unpleasant dealing with her. read more

i dont know if tow yards are all run by inconsiderate asses.but this place took the cake.tried being reasonable to no avail about a vehicle i sold.whatever im not jumping though hoops for you.places like this go belly up all the time due to incompetent employees and unethical attitudes. read more

Allen Service is THE worst towing/demolition company there is to deal with. My car was STOLEN, crashed into a tree, and abandoned. When Pripr Lake Police found my car they didn't attempt to call me to return my car instead they brought it straight to Allen's Service's lot over night and I wasn't informed until I reported it stolen in the morning. The police told me the tow lot was able to offer a discount or drop the insane $360 charges on my vehicle that had only been there for less than 12 hours, but when I spoke to the owner, he seemed to be incompetent, and out for every last penny. Without my car I couldn't make it to work for over a week and had no way of getting it out. I had to take out a loan to get my car. After only 4 days of sitting in his lot the total I paid was $500... that is ridiculous considering it is only $35 a day. Not to mention they are only open from 11-noon on Saturday and sundays... What kind of hours are those? When I told the owner the police said he could give a discount he said he was aware he could but he will not budge on the price - claiming that if he gave me a deal because my vehicle was stolen - he'd have to give everyone a deal. Thinking about taking this to court. For now - I'm advising people to stay away from this terrible establishment. read more
