I rate this place 1 star because I can't possibly rate it any lower. I'll start with the fact that the long wait hours are ridiculous. You don't get in for the upwards of an hour or longer after your appointment time! The clientele is through the roof. They shouldn't be taking anymore people realistically, but they do. Now let me tell you my story and why I believe that not a soul should go here. It started with my rabbit, merryweather, whom's eye suddenly became enlarged out of socket. Of course I freaked out called my usual vet, Sevier county animal, which may I add is the BEST. Unfortunately they were unable to access the situation as they don't deal with rabbits much. After recommending me to a special vet in Knoxville I quickly made an appointment that was 1 month out. I then called back and they recommend me to tri-county, the only vet near by that sees rabbits that would hopefully be able to see her faster. I took merryweather to tri-county and their vet, Dr. Biggs, diagnosed her with an abscess behind the eye and said that the eye was blind. We would then need to remove the eye to get to the abscess behind it. Which she reminds me is something that is very hard to get rid of and likely will always come back. $600 later... I take my rabbit home, eye removed and sutured up. Instantly I notice a hard bulge on the top of her head, where the eye socket is. I told myself it was likely just how her structure is shaped since I wasn't used to seeing her shaved there. (She's was a very hairy lions head). 1-2 weeks later we noticed the suture spot on her eye was leaking open. We go back, again. Come to find out that hard spot wasn't just her structure, it was abscess!! She then decided that we would need to go back in cut her back open and leave it open so that way we could properly clean the eye and cauterize the abscess to hopefully kill it off. My question is, why was that done in the first place. Knowing that the abscess was still there, she sewed the infection shut in her eye. Resulting in me coming back and spending another $100 for her to be put under and such. She quite literally charged me to for a 2 second demonstration of how to clean her eye. Which again should have been done the first time around. I came back for a check up she scheduled me for that I wasn't aware she'd be charging $50 for!!! No worries though I got a $24 statement in the mail from them I called to discuss about, Dr. Biggs was so kind to discount me half off for... her mistake. Our was it intentional? How did she not notice the infection she sutured up? Why did she sew it up, knowing it'd be something we'd need to clean and take care of? Why did she never prescribe any real long term antibiotics? $700+ later, my rabbit merryweather is dead. The infection killed her due to the time it was encapsulated in her eye as well as never being prescribed long term antibiotics. I unfortunately had another appointment for her with a separate vet we were never able to make it to. Due to the absolute negligence of her from Dr. Biggs. Just like many others. It seems she had a reoccurring reputation, how she's still open shocks me. Years now I've heard such nasty things about this woman and her malicious practices. Had she not been my quickest resort option for my rabbit I would have NEVER went there. She is a heartless woman who genuinely does not care about your pets and their well being. She rips on pet owners for every dollar they have. She truly is the animal herself, preying on innocent pet owners who want their pet to get better. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. read more

This place is a SCAM. DO NOT bring your pets here. Tri County Veterinary Clinic is a disgrace to pet care. They prey on pet owners in emotional situations and will blindside you with outrageous, unauthorized charges. We came in expecting a simple demonstration on how to administer fluids to our cat and were slammed with an $800 bill--with ZERO prior estimate, no warning, and no consent. This isn't just a one-time issue. This place has a pattern of overcharging, unethical billing, and complete disregard for their customers' time. * We have waited over 3+ hours at past appointments. * We were hit with surprise charges before when we had to put down our other cat. * Today, we were made to wait 45 MINUTES at the counter while they blatantly avoided us. They kept lying and stalling, claiming the vet was "in surgery" when in reality, they just didn't want to deal with their own shady business practices. When we finally said we'd dispute the charge and report them, they did nothing to make it right. No refund, no discount, no accountability--just more excuses and delay tactics. If you care about your pet and don't want to be scammed, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They do not care about your animal--only about squeezing every last dollar out of you. I will be disputing this charge, filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the State Veterinary Board, and making sure everyone knows how corrupt this clinic is. Do yourself and your pet a favor--find an honest vet who actually gives a damn. This place should be shut down. read more

This place is a total joke . Misdiagnoses, none of the doctors read notes from last visits. I have a cat supposedly going through diabetics ketoacidosis and I call and say he's super sick and hiding behind the toilet . "Oh don't worry he will be fine until his appointment next Monday " . " we aren't concerned he will die" 5 visits to emergency vet and 11k later we have a dead cat . No returned calls. I have met several people who stopped going here for the same reasons. Everyone was fantastic!! Our pittie, Dolly Pawton, wasn't eating or drinking for the past 24 hours. The vet closest to us (we're on vacation) was leaving early and suggested Tri County. They were able to see her pretty quick. Smooth check in and didn't wait but a few minutes until we were in the room. The vet, sorry I forgot her name, was in quickly as well. Got her hydrated, food to ease her into eating again and was just so nice and informative. Hopefully, Dolly will be up and running in no time. I would definitely recommend Tri County. read more

we do not recommend this location whatsoever. They used the local law-enforcement to their advantage to make sure we couldn't pick up our dog when we wanted to pick up our dog, after they had told us that there was nothing wrong with him and that he didn't need surgery. Therefore there was absolutely no reason to keep him overnight. They get special privileges because the Sevierville police department brings their K9's there for anything they need and it's completely free of charge. If abuse of power is your thing, then this is your place. read more

Took my cat in for vomiting blood and clots and they treated him for something different. Didnt even address the bloody vomit and his blood work showed he was anemic and his platelets were very low. They said he had gastroenteritis then preceeded to power feed him 2 cans of cat food and he vomited and got the craps. They sent him home after that said he was fine and charged us $760.00. Well he was not fine. We rushed him to UT vet med center the next day and he was hospitalized for 3 days. The docs at UT couldnt believe the horrible care he received. Dog sitting a sickly Shih Tzu dog I did not even know. He needed a vet asap. I came to tri county vet last minute. This vet and staff is thorough! The whole staff was super kind! Plenty of staff!! It's not cheap to pop in last minute but very fair!! Dog had ear infections major skin allergies and a swollen paw from infected toenail. They did everything to get him straight. Steroid shot, antibiotics, exam, ear meds! All for $250. They gave me Lots of helpful information for the owner of this dog to do to keep him healthy. They were busy but they still cared!!! We have used your clinic for YEARS. I just wanted to let you know that the service has gone way downhill... to the point that I'm considering changing vet clinics. It has been like pulling teeth to try to get my dogs' medications through PetMeds because, according to the vet, "they need a heartworm test" even though they're not due for one until October! We even came in today, and no one mentioned ANYTHING about a heartworm test even when I asked for them! It's almost like you all would rather my dogs die from heartworms than to approve their needed medications! I am SO FRUSTRATED with your office!!!!!! read more

I don't usually fill out surveys because it seems only really satisfied or really dissatisfied people leave feedback. I'm one of the clients happy with Dr. Bigg's treatment for our pets. We hold great respect for Dr. Biggs and confidence in her knowledge and ability. Many, many years ago she successfully performed a complicated surgery on our young hound. She was taught this procedure by a friend of ours, who recommended her. This morning, our nine year-old pug was restless and panting. I knew she needed to see a vet. Two vet clinics in Knoxville (we are established clients) refused to see her, even though she was an emergency in my opinion. I had first called our usual clinic, and after two calls, they agreed to see her. My husband brought her home but had to take her back for x-rays and bloodwork, which revealed only mild spinal arthritis. Still concerned for her, b/c something IS wrong, I called Dr. Biggs' clinic. Her front desk checked with their supervisor and Dr. Biggs, then told me to bring Cookie in. When I told them it would be after 6:00 when we got there, I was informed of a nominal after-hours fee, which they collected the second time I called. Dr. Biggs has now seen Cookie, who has had a third physical exam and some meds, and she's spending the night at the clinic, until they receive and review her x-rays and bloodwork. Note: I did feel our hound was underfed while kenneled after his surgery and he was very thin...perhaps some of the problems are related specifically to kennel and grooming personnel, but we have always received excellent veterinary service at Tri-County. I chose Tri-County Veterinary Clinic based on reviews from their Facebook page, but I left the practice feeling ill at ease. I brought my cat in for a wellness visit, but I never saw the exam occur. When I inquired about her weight they could not tell me and never provided me a summary of the visit. I am new to the area so I didn't know if practices in the State of Tennessee were different, but I have had enough pets to know how a typical exam goes. In addition, she was treated for an infection which did clear up, however she still presented with the same symptoms a month later so I sought an alternative veterinarian for treatment. While I DO NOT recommend Tri-County, I DO recommend Sevier County Animal Clinic. read more

Worst place ever to take for grooming and the vet service is getting just as bad. I will start with grooming. Donna is the most rude and inconsiderate person I have ever seen to work with what most people consider their babies. Dropped mine off and less than 5 minutes later received a phone call that we needed to come get her, she was not behaving. When she was dropped off Donna came out to get her, took off my collar and leash and put on a thin cheap little leash, mind you my dog weighs 130#. As she was taking her to the back she pulled her so hard she yelped. Got her to the back and didn't want to get in the crate (as if any dog wants to be crated) so Donna got her pinky caught between the leash and the crate. I guess it made her mad. She just didn't want to deal with her. The last time she was there we dropped her at 8:00 and she wasn't ready until almost 6:00. Long time for a dog to stay crated so she probably remembered that. Next is the vet service. It's like a Walmart. They way overbook so you wait forever to go in then sit in the room another 30-45 minutes. Finally someone shows up. They do whatever it is they do and your done. Not given much info about any part of the visit, no instructions if they are given anything. Its up to you to figure it out. Worst Vet in the county. No communications. Took the dogs in for grooming at 7:30 and they weren't ready until 5:30. No one called and informed us it was going to be ALL day. Waited around ... couldn't do anything else. Older lady who met us was rude and inconsiderate. Will never go back. Terrible service. There is no reason a dog should be cooped up all day to get groomed. The shaved our dogs bald. Told them not to shave them that way because Dr Hale said not to, so their hair would grow back thicker. While the team here is very nice, the clinic has too many clients for too few vets. As such, the waits are long, you can't get in within a reasonable time, the vet mixed up our dog with another (when we did the dropoff for care because no appts could be had), and then we got the brushoff - told to let our dog heal up on her own and give her pain pills. When her injury didn't get better, we took her to another vet, who got her in immediately and determined she had suffered the doggy equivalent to a blown ACL and the only treatment is surgery. While we waited based on the first vet's advice, our dog's bad leg atrophied (see X rays), and she needlessly suffered. The pain meds they told us would be fine for her to take for weeks on end also damaged her liver. I am incredibly disappointed in the care we received here, and would recommend Tri-County refer patients elsewhere until they can appropriately care for the animals entrusted to them. read more

The Tri County Veterinary Clinic is most likely a good place for grooming and boarding, but it appears that clinic work is not very thorough when it comes to diagnosis. If your dog is sick, look for a clinic that specializes in treatments as opposed to the other activities. read more

This place should be shut down. My dog was boarded there for 11 days. I called several times and was told he was doing great. He lost 15 lbs over that time. All the bones in his body were showing. He had sores on his knees and elbows from being in the crate for the entire time. When I picked him up, I did not recognize him when he came out. read more

We went to Tri County after a bad experience with a veterinary clinic previously. My lab puppy was treated with the utmost care. The staff are always kind and knowledgeable. They kept us informed about my dog the entire time. I wish there were more than 5 stars to rate them. We will be taking all of our animals there for life. read more

I don't know anything of their service as a regular vet. We'd never used them until we had to have our lab put down due to advanced age and illness. We opted for private cremation with a paw print. We were told the remains come back in a wooden box. They said they'd call when his remains were back. They never called. We finally called them. Picked up the remains and they are in a tin container, not the wood box we were told. Looks completely cheesy and unworthy of people's pets remains. The paw print, which cost an additional $25 is awful. It's completely uncentered and covered in hair. It's just awful. Now this is what I've got left of my dog. How awful!! read more

My 11 lb.. dog thought he could take on a much larger, part pit, dog. Unfortunately he found out that he could not and sadly was traumatically injured. Dr. Biggs got my precious Bogey into surgery, sewed him up, sent me to lunch and then called me when my puppy was ready to be picked up (we had been heading back to Florida when it happened). I went to pick my baby up and was presented with what I considered to be a very fair bill. Dr. Biggs and the entire staff were patient, compassionate and obviously very skilled (my puppy could have easily died). To provide this level of service to someone they knew would never come back was something I will always remember! read more

We have been taking our pets to Tri-County for three years. The whole staff is knowledgeable and compassionate.

First time at this vet left me wanting. We have a 6mo old tabby that we adopted at the end of December, from Happy Paws Kitten Rescue. They suggested that we get him seen for vaccine updates, and a precautionary deworming. I called around a few local vets to get an idea of cost and such, and finally settled on this one based on a friend's referral. I am INCREDIBLY neurotic about my fur babies, and don't mind spending a little extra if it means getting the time and attention required. This visit left my head spinning. In an effort to be organized, I printed off the new patient form and filled it out so that I would minimize the amount of time to check in. I arrived about 30 min early for my appointment, trying to account for any traffic on the 4 mile drive as well as potential busy-ness at the office. When I walked in, one gal was on the phone, and there were two others standing having an audible conversation about another patient. It was atleast a full 2 minutes before anyone acknowledged the fact that I had materialized there, and it wasn't until someone just happened to meander out from the back, that my presence was even addressed. Went thru the check in process, went and had a seat and waited to get called back. They extra wait time that I now had, gave me time to look around and really scrutinize the office. It looked clean and well organized and kept up, but just as I looked to the left to check that my kitty was ok, that I noticed there appeared to be quite a bit of smeared blood on the floor. I didn't notice it initially because the floors are so dark. I tried to ignore it. I got called back on time. The tech was nice, seemed a little nervous, but hugged my kitty and praised him. Made me really uneasy that she left the room with him to weigh him. I showed her the paperwork I had for him and explained to her when we were in for, she said she would let the vet know, and she was gone. We waited probably another 10 minutes for the vet to come in. Noticed more smeared blood on the floor in the exam room. She came in in a whirl wind, slightly out of breath and visibly very rushed. She never introduced herself, and I don't recall seeing her name on her scrub top. I showed her my paper work and explained the situation. She didn't seem to understand why we were there, and I felt as though she was just appeasing me. She hardly gave my kitten a look over. She listened real quick to his breathingand checked his ears. She didn't take his temp, didn't check his teeth and gums, barely touched him, didn't ask any questions about his diet since we've had him, or anything like that, she zipped out for the vaccine and deworming pill, back just as quickly shoved the pill down his throat and then quickly stuck him with the needle. It all happened so fast. She kept urging me to call back to happy paws about the some of the vaccines stated in the record I showed her. And then just like that, we were done. Wham bam thank you ma'am. The bill wound up being cheaper than anticipated, plus I guess. I don't think I will be going back to Tri City in the future. Just not a very warm and personable place. I wouldn't say steer clear of this place but definitely use caution. read more

Was in Pigeon Forge during the rod run, when my Cocker Spaniel cane down with a stomach virus. Call Tri County on a Saturday morning. They advised me to come on in. Got a couple of shots, meds and fluids. They were extremely friendly and professional. Their cost was no more than if I had seen my local vet. Just recently moved here and Tri County Vet was recommended. Had to bring my aging French bulldog in for an eye ulcer and a few other minor issues and was very pleased with the service. The girls at the front desk were pleasant, the facility clean, wait time wasn't bad and both the vet tech and vet were fantastic. They listened, took their time, were thorough and handled my fur baby with care. I highly recommend them!! read more

This place really knows their stuff! We were on vacation and our French bulldog Louie developed a small open sore. We called around and finally found Tri County Vet and we are so glad we did. Short wait times, we were only in the waiting room for 10 minutes max. The vet, Dr. jones, was very informative and personable. While we were not one of her regulars she still took the time to answer our questions about food and grooming when she had already covered and fixed the problem that we had come in for. She cared for Louie as a whole instead of just the spot on him so that we could prevent things like this in the future by avoiding foods that could trigger allergies. They are very straight forward and not pushy. Unlike other vets we've been to, I didn't feel once that she was trying to push the food they sell or up charge in any way. The price was fair and we are relieved to have fixed our baby and thankful to have found such wonderful, caring people. Thanks Tri County Vet! read more
