After 3 weeks with Top Notch Canine, he is so much better behaved! He will go to and stay on his "place" which he seems to actually enjoy vs. being crated so that I can get things done around the house. He will sit and stay there, even outside, until I tell him to come. He can walk by other people/dogs outside without causing a huge scene. Reagan picked him up and dropped him back off at my home, which is a huge benefit. She was able to come into my house and see how he acts and talk with me about my concerns. When she dropped him back off, she was here over an hour teaching me how to give commands, walk him, and use the e-collar. Before sending him to training, I was trying to avoid using an e-collar, because I didn't understand it's purpose when used correctly. With my dog's personality, none of the ignoring bad behavior/giving him treats for good behavior worked. After Reagan trained him with the e-collar, the vast majority of the time, I only have to use the tone feature, which feels exactly like a cell phone buzzing on vibrate. It works so well to quickly get his attention and correct his behavior. He's been home from training about one month, and I've only had to use the "static" button about 5 times, this is the feature that actually gives a shock, and I've used it when he starts nipping at people to quickly let him know that it is not ok. I was also worried that doing an intense training like this would alter his personality, but he seems to have genuinely loved his time at training, and he's even scheduled to go back for boarding when we go on our next vacation. This is also a HUGE benefit. A lot of other boarding options basically leave the dog in a kennel for their stay, unless going out for a bathroom break. I know that he'll have such fun and love being in a home environment and socializing with other well-behaved dogs while we're away. I'm so glad that we made this investment and now have a dog who is so much better behaved, and getting better every day. My girls LOVE being able to sit on the couch and pet him, and he is content to sit on his "place" or just be in a room with me (I work remotely from home) during the day without causing chaos. He is obviously still a puppy and sometimes makes bad decisions, but now I feel like I have the knowledge and tools to correct him and to better enjoy having him as a member of the family.

He was lame in one rear leg from a previous surgery, had lost weight and was in end stage heart failure we later found out. Dr. Dinny and his wonderfully compassionate staff helped us on that awful day. We had recently moved to this area and cannot state strongly enough how grateful we are that we contacted this vet's office. Our call was answered by Brandy who right away helped us in the most kind and genuine manner. Her professionalism was followed by Tony and to say he went the extra mile is a true understatement! Wow, what a heart for animals and their owners he has. Then we met Dr. Dinny! Tallinn, our lovely and massive Great Dane had a sister from the same litter, they had never been apart. Dr. Dinny informed us that with two siblings that share such a great bond there can be trauma when one of them just 'disappears' and the remaining one can pine dreadfully. He suggested bringing Tuscany to the vets so she could see Tallinn for herself and then would understand and not grieve nearly as long. We did! Our little Miss Tuscany spent about two days grieving and then picked up her bone and toys and started playing. We firmly believe this is the reason she has handled it so much better than we did. We are eternally grateful to this fabulous staff and highly recommend you consider them for all of your animal's needs, you won't find more compassion, knowledge and professionalism anywhere else! Thank you Sevier Co Animal Clinic.

My dog can't play with other dogs so I liked that he got to do something fun each day. One time I picked him up and he was covered in pee - which tells me they were not giving him enough chances to go to the bathroom. Not to mention, he was supposed to receive an exit bath which clearly didn't happen. I had to throw out everything and immediately come home and bathe him. They also forgot to send home his medication. I spoke with the owner, he apologized and offered a free exit bath next time. Since they still had his meds I decided to give it one more chance. I dropped him off for boarding and when I went to pick him up no one was at the front desk so I waited. I could hear someone screaming in the back and loud banging noises. Finally she came up to the front desk sweating and looking disgruntled (like she was just yelling at dogs). She saw my face of shock and she put on a smile and was overly nice and complimenting me. She went to go get my dog and when she was in the back she AGAIN started yelling and banging on something telling the dogs to "shut up!!!" I got my dog and left asap. She is not the type of person you want to leave your dog around - her anger towards them was scary. Dogs bark - that's just how it goes. There was nothing to make me believe the dogs were doing anything wrong other than barking because she was primarily yelling at them to shut up and be quiet (as if that would help). DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE! You have no idea how they are being treated and if she would do that knowing someone was standing right on the other side of the door - what would she do when no one is watching?
