We left our cat here during our honeymoon and it was great! They were one of the only places in the area that took cats from what I could find. We got caught in traffic and arrived later than expected but the staff was very understanding. When I texted them to check up, I got a quick response. Our experience was ok. Unfortunately our dog had to leave early for anxiety and bloody diarrhea. They were unable to give him his anxiety medicine. My main complaint is I paid for webcam access and that "access" is only from 8-10am and 8-10pm so you truly have no idea how they are doing for most of the day. read more

This is the second time we've taken our Zelda Jean to SDL, and both times have been nothing but amazing! We've done just doggy daycare before but this time decided to try boarding. I was a little worried to leave her because we've only ever had friends watch her overnight, but they told us she did amazing and even gave us a report card! I hesitated to leave this review but I feel like I must. I left my dog George at the Smokey Dog Lodge in Sept while on vacation. When I returned to puck him up he is different. He is scared of people now. He even growled at me for a week. It is late October and he is still not the same. I will never take a pet there again. He also had a neck injury and was treated by his Vet at home. Not happy. And he is a 1 year old golden. read more

When I arrived and asked a few questions , one of the ladies hit a nerve to me and I didn't like her attitude when I said here is my dog's bag for daycare and her food , I was told " We don't take any carrying bags for daycare so here you take that back" .. then I asked if they could feed her just a-little dry kibble I had since mine nibbles just a little all day (1/2 cup to 1 cup all day she eats) and I only brought about 2 tbsp , I was told "Well since they are all too busy playing we don't feed them". I asked again if they could please just give a-little in their hand to her and was told "We can try " ( well they never did because she was starving both days when I picked her up and I had her there 2 days and they never gave me back the little bag of food I had and it's an expensive food. I was told " well if there isn't any left then she ate it but one of the ladies on The 2nd day couldn't find out if she did or not (well I know they didn't because my dog doesn't scarf down her food unless she is hungry) . I just want them to do what I ask them to do ( not like I'm asking alot geez). I will take mine to a different place next time that isn't too busy to even feed my dog. Other staff was great though and texted me when I asked how she was doing. read more

My girl, Riley, thoroughly enjoys her "lodge meetings"!! We give her the opportunity to get some socialization and serious play time with daycare at SDL. She's been going for years and gets to play with some her "regulars" as well as some visiting pups and loves it! She will pretty much nap on the drive home, which confirms that she had an awesome day! The staff overseeing the play is fabulous and I can't say enough about Emma (groomer) and her wonderful skills! I can trust Riley will be cared for and loved on, giving me so much peace of mind!!! read more

My dog, Chica has been going to Smoky Dog Lodge daycare and boarding for five years since she was a little pup. She absolutely loves going there and playing with the other dogs. She has always hated riding in the car, but as soon as we pull into the parking lot, she is so excited to get inside! Wonderful staff and groomers there. read more

This is the best place for dog daycare and boarding. We have been bringing our pup here for nearly two years and she has a blast! She looks forward to "going to school" everyday. When I pick her up at night, she sleeps all the way home. The staff is exceptional. They all interact well will the dogs and owners and you feel like part of a family. We really enjoy all the extras the staff does throughout the year with open houses, cookouts, pictures at the holidays and they even help the local animal shelters with adoptions. After Hurricane Helene ravaged our neighboring area, they stepped up and became a collection center for much needed pet food and other items. They made weekly deliveries to the affected areas. Overall the place is fantastic with caring staff. Your dog will love it there. read more

This was our FIRST visit here. We took our dog for a grooming. It's always been difficult to decide hair length. Not too short, not too long. How do you describe to someone? For the first time in my life, this groomer showed us a sample you could choose from by sight and feel. Similar to a small carpet sample chart. What a Brilliant Idea!! As far as a daycare facility, SDL was fine. We used them two years in a row while we were in town on vacation and seeing the sights. We were glad to have our dog at a daycare rather than being alone while away from home. I was equally glad when one of their employees contacted me because they were expanding on their lobby items and they wanted to sell the treats I make. Not only was I happy about the sale but utilizing each others small businesses seemed a wonderfully responsible thing to do. I sent the order and invoiced them a bit later. Since then I have continued to try to reach them with no response. It's very disappointing, I supported her business yet Mrs Prescott don't want to pay for the product she requested, ordered and was sent. Very disappointing to have a fellow small business owner not honor their commitment. read more

SDL is one of the best daycare and grooming facilities we have been to. I have large dogs, and as for grooming, the groomer knows just how to care for them and the most reasonable rates around. Everyone we have spoken to there has been kind and informative. When we take vacations, they go there and they come home tired and very happy. Due to work schedules, they have not gotten to go to daycare as often as we would like. They do get to go when possible as they love the playtime and pool when it is available. read more

Rude staff and their website is awufl. Doesn't send you a confirmation email and the place smells like it hasn't been cleaned in year's.

I booked my dog to stay at SDL for 5 days about 1 1/2 months in advance. Everything confirmed through email and text, vaccination status shared. I told them my dog doesn't like rough dog play, like wrestling, and likes people. We had an 800 mile drive to get there, and were running late. I was driving so my daughter called to confirm if ok to arrive a bit after 7pm. We were told someone would be there til 7:10pm, but to call when within an hour away. Since we switched places driving, I called within an hour away. I got a different person, who told me the whole reservation was cancelled. I insisted it was not, she said it was, several times. Since I was adamant, she said she'd ask someone else. She came back and said ok to bring my dog in and the reservation was good. We made it just before 7:10pm, and my dog was received and we were reassured all was good. The girl seemed in a hurry to take her in, so we thanked her and left. I later emailed to reconfirm that all was well and asked what went wrong. All they did was say reservation was good and nothing changed. No explanation or apologies for stressing us out, I had already mentally prepared myself for sleeping in the truck with the dog, as we had no other options and our hotel did not accept dogs. Fast forward to pick up...we called morning of pick up to announce our arrival. When we got there and my dog was brought out, she was not happy to see us. No eye contact, no bouncing around, no yippy-yahoo. She looked fatigued. Her food bag looked nearly as full as when we dropped her off. This is not normal, she's been at other facilities and is always ecstatic on pick up. Her eyes were also very goopy and pasty, yes, standard poodles get eye boogers, but this was extreme and why not wipe it off as you would a child's runny nose? I'm suspecting she did a lot of howling/crying, and off her food more than once? Really iffy if I'd ever board there again. Too many unknowns. read more

this place is super cute. We were visiting pigeon forge from Nashville and we needed somewhere to put our doggies for the day so we could go explore and i found this place. It was suuuper reasonably priced and they were super responsive and easy to book! The only thing i will say is that i wish they had a more detailed account of what our dogs did all day or pictures or something. It was their first time at daycare and we had called and checked on them, and there just wasn't very many details given at all. ALSO they forgot to put our dogs collar back on her and we had to go back and get it on the way home which was pretty out of the way- BUT this place is wonderful and we will for sure come here again when we visit the area. read more

This friendly clean and welcoming facility took great care of our 2 year old mini golden doodle while we vacationed in the area. We took her out for a day trip. She came out and went in happily. The splash pools and spacious accommodations left us wondering if she would want to come home. They bathed her upon departure so she left looking and smelling great. Highly recommend. read more

I am not one to leave reviews ever, but in this case it seemed evident that I should. After our first time at Smoky Dog Lodge, not one, but all three of my dogs came home sick with Bordatella. They all were up to date on vaccinations that were checked before hand by Smoky Dog Lodge. Our pups stayed 4 days total and throughout my time gone, I never received any updates on how things were going, which we told them we'd appreciate if possible due to one having separation anxiety. Only a few hours after picking them up, I noticed they all had a harsh cough that wouldn't go away, vomiting, and they were excessively lethargic. I reached out to a veterinarian who informed me that they had Bordatella. Our dogs had not been sick prior nor had they been anywhere with other dogs before being dropped off. We reached out to the business and the owner Lory responded back through email. We were able to get a phone call in and after explaining the situation I asked if they would give a partial refund or cover vet costs due to it being an unexpected expense due to negligence, and after paying their boarding fee, it came out to much more than I could afford at the time. Lory insisted it was not her fault, that they see 75+ dogs a day and that dogs are always bound to get sick from time to time in these type of places. As a dog owner, that's something I never want to hear if I'm boarding my dogs somewhere new. I was also alerted by a facility that they have seen multiple other dogs that have the same symptoms as mine who also came from SDL. I don't know how valid their statement was, but I had no reason to not believe them. I'm not sure what happened with our dogs while they were there, but after much communication Lori obliged and said they would pay for the medication, but that's all. It has been 2 months since I've heard from Lory, various emails have been sent and telephone calls to SDL (which not one has been answered), and nothing was sent for medication costs that was promised. I am not sure what else I need to do, but I'm upset at how this is being handled especially by the owner of the company. Be be weary about only basing opinions off of reviews because if I could get back the $$$ I spent from one stay here, I would. read more

We had the pleasure of using Smoky Dog Lodge while I'm the area. We were able to fill out all the paperwork prior to coming into town. They took all of their vaccination records over email. Drop off was easy. Of course one of our pups didn't want to go back to play at first. When we brought them back for another half day, they were both eager to play. We were able to enjoy Pigeon Forge and picked up tired pups that evening. Great hours 7a-7p... 6 hours or less equals a half day rate. Discounts for multiple pups. read more

My 86 year old grandmother booked her 20 pound dog to stay here for 6 days. She went personally to make the boarding reservations. She filled out all the paperwork and provided proof of vaccines. She was told that she was booked and they would see her the day of drop off. Her neighbor offered to drop her dog off so our entire family could leave earlier to make the 7 hour drive to our destination. 2 hours into our one and only vacation for the entire year...my grandmother gets a call from her neighbor saying that Smoky Dog Lodge did not have a reservation. We had to turn around and backtrack 2 HOURS to get her dog. My grandmother lost her one and only vacation and $800 she had put down for the trip because the staff did not do their job and book her dog...like they said they would!!! And instead of apologising and accepting responsibility, they said it was her fault for not having a cellular phone where they could have texted her. I call that elder discrimination!!!!!! read more

We boarded our two Boston's there while camping in the area. They were very nice and accommodating to our needs. The dogs were groomed during their stay. Great for day stays and long stays. My 3 dogs love going to "school." They always come home, eat dinner and curl up for a nap after playing all day. We were so fortunate to find Smoky Dog Lodge for day care for our mini labradoodle in the Sevierville/Pidgeon Forge area. We had a planned 3 week vacation and had to find a place we could trust to leave our labradoodle. We looked online and many of the highly recommended places were disappointing when we visited onsite. Smoky Dog Lodge did not disappoint. They exceeded our expectations. The owners are onsite and they have very good workers attending to our fur babies. We left our 3 year old mini labradoodle on many occasions while we were busy during the day. They took the best care of him. I was never concerned for his wellbeing. They are also open on Saturday and Sunday for day care which is a huge plus. I strongly recommend Smoky Dog Lodge without hesitation. We will use them again when we return next summer. read more
