    Philly cheesesteak

Such great service and the food is wonderful! The Philly cheesesteak is even better than we had in Philadelphia!

Everyone raves about Tri la bite locally so it is a must stop. A decent green chile burger with a nice variant side in fried okra. The bun was fresh and a touch sweet like a Hawaiian. There is not much seating and the benches are very low and uncomfortable.

I enjoy visiting all the places I can find here in Alpine. I met a friend for lunch, and it was so nice outside we wanted outdoor seating. The menu has a nice variety, and we both found something to enjoy. Ironically, it's located right across the street from Sonic, but if you want a burger a step above, cross the street and come here.

Update: recently had the bean burger and it was literally the best black bean burger I've ever had. Please don't pass up the chance to eat here.

Super tasty burgers with veggy options for vegetarians. Service was fast and had a good customer service.

Great place!! They make everything to order so it's perfect for people with eating preferences or certain needs. I had the chef salad with grilled chicken and it was wonderful! The lettuce was a mixed field greens salad which is more nutritious than iceberg. It had tomatoes, bacon, boiled eggs, onions, and topped with my dressing of choice! My husband got the Philly Cheesesteak and he loved it!! He also said the fried okra was the best he ever had. When it's made to order, things truly so taste better. I won't be surprised if we eat here everyday!

Jalapeño popper burger! Excellent! Not too hot, lots of flavor, I would have posted a photo of it but I already ate it. Yes it's a good truck but 5 star food and interesting selections on the menu. Worth a trip to Alpine Texas!

Driving to Big Bend, had a quick pit stop at this adorable little food truck. Don't judge a book by its cover, it was incredible. It didn't look the most welcoming/promising, but the woman who took our order was lovely and friendly, the food was OUTSTANDING, and it was a great bang for our buck! I got the pulled pork street tacos (a special) and he got the grilled chicken wrap- both a 10/10.

Despite the truck's appearance, Tri La Bite has some of the best food in Alpine! They're normally open Monday through Friday for lunch (11-3). I've eaten there many times and have not been disappointed. I recently tried their shrimp poor boy and enjoyed it very much. If you're in the area and hungry, stop by!

The first time I went to check it out I was offput by the QR code ordering nonsense. The employees were completely locked to their phones doomscrolling and it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Food was pretty weak, but acceptable for a diner. Price was ok. Then tonight I thinks to myself, I can't sleep, I should try that diner again - so I go out there at 1:30a and all the employees are hanging out in the parking lot playing with a car and tell me the diner is closed. Come back in a few hours. If you're driving through Alpine and you want a mediocre burger that isn't going to end up costing you $45, maybe it's worth a stop (it isn't) - but definitely don't go a single mile out of your way for it. They do not care at all and they really want you to know that.

We were looking for a nice place to have dinner while staying in Alpine, TX. This fit the bill!…read more The restaurant is in a yellow house with an "R" at the top. There was an American Flag and a Texas flag flying out front. We walked in and waited for someone to greet us and seat us. After we were at our table, drink orders were taken. When our water was brought out, we were also given some Honey Pecan Biscuits with butter. They were warm and I liked the pecans in it! Hubby & I shared everything. We started with a cup of Jalapeño and Cilantro Soup. It's a cream based soup. I couldn't detect much of any heat from the Jalapeños and the cilantro was pretty much hidden. Maybe a sprinkling of fresh cilantro on top would have made it more pronounced. It also needed to be served hot. We then got the 14oz Ribeye which came with mashed potatoes & green beans. This was a great plate of food! It came out hot! The person who brought it out waited until we cut into it to see if it was acceptable. We've never had any staff person do that for us before! It was a little under done on one side, but the other was perfect. We almost finished the plate. It was delicious! Lastly, we got the Chocolate Bread Pudding Tamale. It comes wrapped in a corn husk that it is cooked in. You remove it and eat the bread pudding. It was gummy in a good way, as hubby described it. It needed the fresh strawberries & ice cream that came on the plate. We really enjoyed our dinner! Our server, Jordan, was very efficient & made it a nice experience! We probably won't travel this way again, but if we did, we would definitely return!

I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and the smoked quail. The soup was served with the garnishes in the bowl and the broth poured from a kettle at the table, which was a fun presentation. If you're in Alpine or passing through (like I was on the way back from Big Bend NP), this is a great place to stop and grab a meal.

It's always a good sign when the parking lot is full in the middle of the week. Got a seat inside and waited. Then waited some more. The hostess seated a 14-top and we decided that we would leave if their orders went in first. BUT finally - a waitress. Friendly, though obviously harried by the unexpected mid-week bonanza. Drinks & food order in!! Margarita for me, Dos Equis for him, chili con queso, spicy chicken sandwich as shared plates. $22 marg was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Queso was SO good, with hefty chips made just right. Spice in the chicken - yes please. Did we wait, yes. Did we mind, NO. BEST PART - the people watching was PRIME. We could've passed another round & been entertained until closing but folks were waiting for tables and i was just buzzed enough on the ONE marg. Looking forward to tomorrow when we try a burger & cheesecake.

Unfortunately, this establishment did not feel family friendly or kid friendly despite presenting itself that way. After waiting around 10 minutes just for someone in our party to grab menus, we were eventually served water and later had our orders taken. However, the overall attitude and repeated glares from the waitress/bartender, Gary Jean, made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Good service goes a long way, and basic kindness shouldn't feel like too much to ask. It became clear that receiving decent service was going to be more effort than it should have been, so we decided to leave before our food even arrived. To management: supporting your staff better may help improve the customer experience overall. A little hospitality can make a big difference.
