Got a part here and it looked used in the box so I asked before purchased if it was new, and they…read moresaid it's new. Even assistant manager looked. Put it on my truck to find it was defective. Went back and assistant manager wanted to argue with me that nothing was wrong with it. I was trying to be as respectful as possible but just wanted to be treated fairly and get this taken care of. I asked him to give my number to manger who wasn't there so he could call me to warranty out. In also stuck with mechanic labor charges and need that covered as well as I will have to pay for that twice. Still no call and it has been a week or so. I wish it could be said that this location has integrity but it doesn't seem that way.

He said no to installing it and then proceeded to send me to a mechanic that he trusted in Kilgore to buy the battery AND have them install it for $60. Sounded like a scam. He made sure to tell me to tell the mechanic that ROY sent him. it sounded shady so I ended up going to AutoZone in Longview, had a great experience there and they installed my "special" battery for free. I mean, what auto parts store doesn't want to sell you a battery and would rather send you to another shop. they HAD the battery but wouldn't sell it to me. instead wanted to send me to a mechanic for the battery and instillation.

Stopped by the store tonight and as usual there was a large sign on the door that masks were…read morerequired by all in the store. That seems to apply for everyone except the staff, who were all lounging around the counter without a mask in sight. One staff member was coughing too. When I asked why they were not wearing masks like the sign on the door indicated, they looked at me like I was crazy. As a care giver for my 82 year old father-in-law who is also suffering from cancer, I can't risk getting sick, yet the staff obviously could not care less either about their customers, store policy, or even State Executive Orders. Shame on O'Reilly and its employees, I will never buy from your store again and that is after being a faithful customer from day 1. Autozone, on the other hand won my business since they do seem to care about their customers.
