My wife had her purse with keys and identification stolen so we needed to rekey our townhouse. Called Daryl in AM, he offered to come out that afternoon (my adult sons were home so I could wait till the afternoon). He showed up on time, understood what I wanted and quickly rekeyed the front door and the garage door and made the duplicates. We also noted the locks are working smoother and easier than they have in a long time. The cylinder in the garage lock had been upside down, but he fixed that as well. I didn't get quotes from others but I thought his charges were quite reasonable, service was friendly, reliable and excellent. Wish I had more work to give him. Lock on the Toyota door was broken. I wanted the low cost solution of delivering the lock and getting it fixed. Trivalley Locksmith was the only one who gave me that solution. I dropped it off at his house in Pleasanton (peace of mind when you know where the guy lives). I later picked up the fixed lock and a new key (based on factory settings). Works perfectly. read more

I highly recommend Daryl. I had a doorknob and lock that jammed closed from years of use. I called Daryl, described the problem, he knew what it was and how to fix it, he made an appointment for a few hours later, showed up, fixed it within half an hour, and charged what his estimate had been. I don't understand why they don't have a 5 star rating. I called because my son bought a car and never opened the door with the key. (He used the electronic opener) When it stopped working he found out the key wouldn't open the lock on the drivers door. (The other 3 doors didn't have one), even though it opened the trunk and worked the ignition. I called to see if they could make the lock fit the key. The man who answered the phone said before I spend any money to try lubing the lock and work the key back and forth. (Apparently the factory grease hardens after a few years of no use). I was amazed when it actually worked. They passed up an easy $75 service call.(we couldn't get in the car). The fact that they are a small business and are honest means if I need anything I'll be calling them. read more

I locked my keys in my car which was the worst thing I could do on a rainy cold day like today was. I called "dublin lockout service" as it was the first item that came up on my phone. The driver gave me an ETA of 30min which turned into 1hr....and when I called back to get a rough ETA I was told it would take another 30min so needless to say I cancelled it promptly and the driver had the nerve to be rude to me for doing so! So I called Tri Valley Locksmith and Daryl gave me an ETA of 10-15min and was there in 5min. He was pleasant and professional. I have a BMW X5 which I guess is difficult to unlock. So we braved the cold and continuous downpour for ~30min and Daryl kept working at getting the car unlocked. I was cold, soaking wet and ready to call a cab after the first 5min. He was very patient and kept at it and just as I had given up and called for a taxi, he got the driver's door unlocked. It's sad when u expect the best and get the worst which is what happened with the dublin lockout service. It's refreshing when a person like Daryl re-affirms your faith in good people. I've never written a review but I had to. Thank you Daryl for your patience and persistence. I hope I never have to use your services again but if I do or somebody else does, I will be sure to recommend them to Tri Valley Locksmiths. read more

It wasn't an emergency, but a house guest manage to break off the lever handle to the front door on a Saturday. This made it difficult to egress (i.e. exit the premises). I called Daryl and asked for a Monday appointment. He scheduled me for between 9 and 9:30 and showed up at about 9:10 - in my experience, most handy-people don't often keep to their promised schedule. Meanwhile I made a run to Home Depot to select a replacement lock since this one obviously had metal fatigue. Quitea few choices! When I got home, I started to see if I could install the lock myself. I decided to leave it to a professional and it was a good choice. Daryl was able to slap it in within minutes, and also re-keyed a new side door to the house master. Fee was quite reasonable (I think) and Daryl was very professional. One thing: if you have a late sleeper in the house, be forewarned that Daryl is a loud talker (kinda like the close talker on Seinfield, but only loud. Not in an obnoxious way, but he did make his presence known! I liked the way he spoke. It was quite clear. No qualms in recommending Tri-Valley highly. read more
