I didn't have the same experience as the many who love this store. When I visited locals who are wild about Triad Meat Company I was driven there to buy top quality steaks. The customer service was average because they provided my steak as asked and checked me out without any additional interaction. The ambience was good because the store seemed clean and carried a variety of fresh meats. After the hype, the true test was cooking and eating the steaks. I was disappointed because after cooking, the steak was tough! I won't be going back. read more

My wife and I just moved to the area and have been looking for a shop to get quality meat. Triad had good reviews, so I popped in today. It was about 15 minutes from our house (much further than the numerous grocery stores in our area) and was absolutely worth the drive. It was a cute shop with a meat counter and some packaged items as well. The shop was small but had a good selection of meats as well as produce and other grocery items. The gentleman I had help me out greeted me as soon as I walked into the door and had a great knowledge of their products, their background info, and was quick to tell me about the weekly specials. I ended up grabbing a 14 oz boneless ribeye and a six oz filet (both grass fed and local) for $17. That's a great value in and of itself and once we cooked them, we were very happy with the quality of the meat as well. If you need quick meat in a pinch, I'm sure any of the local grocery stores will do, but this is going to be our new go-to. I will not purchase meat from anywhere but Triad Meat Company! Every time I shop here the meat is typically packaged that same day so it's always fresh as possible. You get so much meat for way less of a price than your typical grocery stores, and without all the harsh chemicals. The meat is top quality and delicious. Fantastic customer service as well! This is an excellent old school butcher shop with almost any cut you could want. Pork, chicken, steaks (not always their best effort), roasts, stew beef, freshly ground hamburger, Bright Leaf Hot dogs & Smoked Sausages, Hursey's Hot Dog Chili (really great), Liver Pudding, and even Souse Meat (I'd pass). They also carry all manner of sauces, flour, corrnmeal, really fresh eggs (brown or white, sausage, bacon, canned goods, and some fresh veggies. Really cool place. Check it out. read more

I wasn't completely satisfied with my experience. I'll give them 4, only because I couldn't give them 3.5. Maybe the locals like this place? Selection wasn't what I'm used to seeing in a butcher shop. No veal (don't give me nonsense about ethics, I like veal period). I see some reviewers raving about bacon wrapped filets, well, I can do that at home without a lot of effort. I expected more here, tritip, brisket, and when they recommend going to Harris Teeter, I'll take them up on that advice. Triad Meats is the best place in town to buy high quality meats. There are very few butcher shops left these days. I've bought pork shoulders, pork butts, and whole hogs from Triad Meats numerous times. Just picked a whole hog we will be smoking tomorrow and it's a bute! They are also one of the few places you can get a course grind on ground beef which makes for a far superior hamburger. There are a few other butchers around, but for the quality and price, I love Triad Meats! read more

This is the best place in Greensboro to BUY LOCAL. There is always a wonderful variety of just about everything. We go almost weekly for sausage and great steaks. The weekly specials are a great way to make your grocery budget go farther. I always buy an extra pound of ground beef and take leftovers to the grandparents. It is the best local business around!!! OK, so I have been seeing this place on Facebook for months. It is 20 minutes away, but I hadn't made the trip across town to check it out, well until today. I had no ideas what I wanted to get when I went in. Just really wanted to check it out. But hit the doors and turned into a crack head entering a fully packed crack house. You can tell the meat is fresh. They will even do special cuts for you while you wait. I got some ribeye shaved to do some real Philly Cheesesteaks and they had it to me in a couple minutes. I am really glad that I didn't go there hungry or I would have left there broke. The produce is great too, I got some asparagus that is the biggest asparagus I have ever seen. I will certainly be back to this place, after I clear out my freezer. Because I will certainly fill it right back up at this place. I went there for the first time this past Saturday and they were busy with pre-Christmas meat shopping. However, the staff as friendly, helpful and quick. What I thought was going take a 20 or plus minutes was about half that. The only downside to the location is the parking lot. read more

We Purchased 4.3lbs of tri-tip yesterday which is a rare but not expensive cut of beef at $10.99 per pound. When we unwrapped the meat the entire cow fat was present. Usually a butcher shop will trim all but the silverskin. The fat we trimmed weighed 2.8lbs leaving 1.5lbs of the useable meat. This calculates to $31.87 for the fat. We have purchased this cut of meat many times and all but the silverskin was removed. I took a picture of the trimmed fat next to the useable meat to show the store. Additionally, I took the trimmed fat to show the butcher. I was told that if I wanted it trimmed they would have done so but charged by pound for the for the untrimmed total. This isn't a grocery store so I assumed they knew the standard for trimming. Ultimately, I wouldn't trust this butcher shop--buyer beware! read more

I took a deer to be processed to the Randleman rd. Location. They said they would have it shipped to the Madison location to be closer to my house and where they vacuumed seal the product. They also said that they would call me when it was shipped and call me when it was ready. None of this happened. I called them a week later and they said that they had done it at the Randleman location where they use butcher paper and plastic tubes for ground meat versus vaccume seal. They lied to me and would not make it right except for flgiving me adiscount on another deer. Why would I risk another if they messed up on the first. I can't trust how the meat has been kept the week they did not call me. At least they could have gave me discount on the deer they did wrong. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We bought bacon wrapped beef tenderloin, and they were superb. They were melt in your mouth tender with excellent flavor. Best fillets we've eaten in a very long time. Worth the 14 mile drive. read more

Very disappointed in the brisket I purchased. I asked for a 3-4 pound brisket. They went in the back and came out with one in shrink wrapped casing weighing 3.9 pounds. I brought it home to only discover it was completely untrimmed. Ended up being LESS than two ponds of actual eatable brisket-the rest was FAT. I will NOT be going back. read more

i bought the 180 dollar meat package, so far everything in it is grade B meat the roast the chicken and chops have all been a joke. i find better meat at Walmart. the ribs were so big though this had be good. no meat on country ribs? now the stuff in the store in the windows look great. but that's not whats in there packs to go. guess live and learn. read more

I've been shopping here for a while. They're extremely nice people and give some good value cuts... but I can definitely say that the staff here does not know their meats. Don't believe me? Call and ask what grade of brisket they have. Each person gives you a different answer and tells you what you want to hear. On the same day I've heard choice, prime, choice "A", choice "B".. my head is spinning that they just tell people what they think they know. read more
