Not only were Mick and Zach very professional, but they were so helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They took us to several beautiful spots along the way at which we stopped to take a break and take in the lovely environs. The horses were all very good and perfect for this ride. I think I had a smile on my face the whole time!! When we completed the ride I looked at my husband and daughter and said, "Wow! I could do that again tomorrow!" One of the guides was struggling with the horse he was on. It was doing circles while he was on the highway waiting for others to cross. Once everyone had crossed and he was on the dirt, he proceeded to hit his horse several times in the neck, which appeared to be with a lot of force. We were appalled and this type of abuse to this horse should never happen. I suggest you terminate this employee or take any necessary action. What we witnessed was awful and I hope this isn't typical of the way your Ranch treats these beautiful animals.

The horse "stables" are located several miles down a dirt road off of the main road so be prepared to drive slow and have your GPS map downloaded ahead of time because you will lose signal. We opted for the 2 hour ride which costs $114 if paying by credit card or $100 if paying by cash. The staff help you get onto the horse and provide basic directions on how to start and stop. I was a little worried about this since I've only ridden one other time but luckily the horses are all very well trained and essentially just follow the guide horse on their own. The experience overall was nice, with the path winding through stream beds and through the woods. I would not say that it had awe inspiring views or surroundings though. At the turn around point the guide got off of his horse and took photos of each of the groups with the mountain view in the background which was nice. I will say that the staff didn't feel that friendly. As we were waiting to leave, one of the women stated that she hoped that wouldn't have to get off of her horse to take photos of the guests. Also our guide, while making conversation with one of the guests on our ride mentioned several stories about annoying guests - girls "in their western era" putting on makeup while on the horse and women trying to pick him up. Trust me, I get that tourists can be annoying but this business is quite literally catering to tourists. It didn't make us feel very welcome. Finally, I'm by no means a horse expert, but as some of the other reviewers mentioned, all of the horses are tied up, saddled, in the direct sun, until they are pulled for a ride. It felt confined, with a lack of freedom for the horses.

It is a family-owned business, so the guides are related. The pace was relaxed and comfortable. You are on the horse the whole time, but they give plenty of breaks for both the riders and the horses. Throughout the ride, the guides will share fun insights about the horses themselves, the local wildlife and plants, the ranch itself and of course the Grand Tetons. They welcome all skill levels - even total beginners like me. The guides take the time to teach you how to direct and handle your horse, and the horses are very well-behaved. They also keep the group small, which makes the experience feel much more personal. You'll see stunning views of the Hoback area, the Snake River Canyon, and the Teton Range. You'll ride to see a spectacular view of Bidger Teton National Park. The guide is so nice that he will take pictures of you on your horse with the scenic background. It is an unforgettable experience for me. Highly recommend them.

Booking with Equitours was truly one of the worst experiences of my life. 19 days before our…read moreintended trip, my spouse had a horrible riding accident that required immediate surgery and crippled her for a year and a half. The day after her accident, we contacted Equitours and asked if there was SOME dispensation that could be made given this turn of events. While we understood we could not recoup much of our costs (to be clear and fair - we were under the 30 day window, and understand trip guides need to be paid and horses managed for rider spots) we thought perhaps Equitours would work with us and extend some recompense for SOME part of our trip - a credit, a transfer, someone to take our place - we suggested a seriously discounted rate of 40 or 50% off on their website or social media- any rate to get a little back! Equitours simply posted the trip at a 10% discount once on their Facebook page and then our agent immediately went on vacation, kicked off her OOO, and dropped us since our trip was paid for and that was that. No communication, nor was a a single dime of our trip was refunded, transferred, or credited. Equitours pretty much said "oh well." We will NEVER do an Equitours ride again nor would we recommend this company for their terrible customer service.
