I hope my next trip they work it all out. Last trip the gate on the large dog portion was falling over. (Assuming from the heavy winds.) There was also trash which could have been from the winds as well. The grass was a bit high for having dogs especially since some of mine are long haired. The park is partitioned for a large dog side and a small dog side. There are trash and recycling out front. There is also a poop bag stand just in case you need some. Both side are very spacious. They did have a Ben h on the small dogs side so you can take a break. (Can't remember if there was one for the big dog side) There is a community garden next to the area that I believe is off limits but is still very beautiful. This is a dog park that is a bit off the beaten path but if you happen to travel this way and have your pups you should stop by and check it out.

The astroturf is well loved and the splash pads and other play gray tires have seen better days, but while it's kinda gross to us, my dog doesn't seem to mind one bit. He's just happy to run around and chase other dogs. And I'm just happy there's a place nearby where we can let him be off leash and run as fast as he can. He's only 20 pounds so we usually stick to the park side for smaller dogs, but sometimes there aren't any littles to play with, and since our dude isn't intimidated by the bigger pups, we feel comfortable letting him play over there occasionally. If you're a stickler for rules, this isn't the park for you - people frequently take big dogs to the little dog side (sometimes they're older, have anxiety, etc.) and vice versa. As others have stated, there are tons of balls to play with and water dishes and water fountains for both people and doggos.

I am sure when this park opened up in 2013 it was spectacular...because the photos make it look like it. But when we arrived in 2021, it was NOT a "dream". It's actually pretty disgusting. It's fake grass, almost like carpet, and it has NOT been upkept at all. It was packed with more dogs than I've ever seen at a dog park and nobody was paying attention to their dogs but us. Poop left everywhere, nobody picking it up. It was way too overwhelming for me and for our dog. As one of only 3 dog parks in the US that won the Benefit Dream Dog Park contest, I was so excited we were able to visit...now I wish we didn't even go.

The large dog park field is very patchy. There is some grass and some soil area all around. Towards the back of the dog park, the grass is very dead and long. A couple things I noticed: - People do not pick up after their dogs so there is a lot of poop around (be careful where you step). This was the biggest disappointment for me. - They do offer complimentary poop bags. - The trash can outside the dog park near the parking lot. - There is no water for the dogs unlike most dog parks. You need to bring your own.

There are two separate play areas: one for small and shy dogs and another for large and playful dogs. There is parking and picnic tables. We meet so many friendly dogs and people. Several of the visitors had come over from Pottstown. They said this was their preferred park and worth the short drive. Both of my dogs, one young and one senior had a blast. They napped for hours when we got home.

So keep a look out for your pup because they can get pretty far from you and I think it can be hard for them to hear commands. There are parks for children and a paved trails for strollers. There are also large pavilions with charcoal grills and picnic tables. There is also a small pond that had people fishing in it. They have plenty of port-a-pottys too. Can't go wrong here!
