This is still a good space for dogs to socialize and run around in the middle of the city - and once upon a time it was probably really top notch - it just hasn't aged gracefully. The astroturf is well loved and the splash pads and other play gray tires have seen better days, but while it's kinda gross to us, my dog doesn't seem to mind one bit. He's just happy to run around and chase other dogs. And I'm just happy there's a place nearby where we can let him be off leash and run as fast as he can. He's only 20 pounds so we usually stick to the park side for smaller dogs, but sometimes there aren't any littles to play with, and since our dude isn't intimidated by the bigger pups, we feel comfortable letting him play over there occasionally. If you're a stickler for rules, this isn't the park for you - people frequently take big dogs to the little dog side (sometimes they're older, have anxiety, etc.) and vice versa. As others have stated, there are tons of balls to play with and water dishes and water fountains for both people and doggos. read more

For a $500,000 dream park, this was severely underwhelming and has been seriously neglected over time. I am sure when this park opened up in 2013 it was spectacular...because the photos make it look like it. But when we arrived in 2021, it was NOT a "dream". It's actually pretty disgusting. It's fake grass, almost like carpet, and it has NOT been upkept at all. It was packed with more dogs than I've ever seen at a dog park and nobody was paying attention to their dogs but us. Poop left everywhere, nobody picking it up. It was way too overwhelming for me and for our dog. As one of only 3 dog parks in the US that won the Benefit Dream Dog Park contest, I was so excited we were able to visit...now I wish we didn't even go. read more

By far, the most entertaining facility for dogs in the area (that is free, anyway). We try to bring our dog down fron Ephrata occasionally, and our dog loves his visits. The facility is divided into big dog and small dog sections, and each section is astroturfed, has doggie play elements and water fountains, and has a deck with Adirondack chairs with shade canopies...relaxing for owners as well! Also, a double-gate entry portal insures no canine escapees wander off. Owners are conscientious, cleaning up after their dogs and correcting poor doggie behavior. Plus, it is just fun to watch doggies socialize and run free. Paired with a stop at Beiler's donuts beforehand, it makes for a relaxing morning at the park! read more

Apparently someone won a contest and redid this dog park to their "dream." Well it mite be their dream but def not a dogs. The park enclosed area for dogs is so small and mostly covered with decking or training pipes. The grass is artificial crap. Anyone who knows dogs knows a tight area is no bueno for a dog park-1 creates tension btw dogs and number 2 no where for them to run, play, n get exercise. They did a "posh" city makeover that looks good but is not practical at all. Also ppl be bringing their unneutered dogs ughh. It mite have been dirt before but there was room for them to play at least. read more

This place is awesome! Well laid out great for hot simmer days lots of water fun and fountains to drink from for your fur friend. I visited once in summer 2015. Pros: - Size- this was an excellent size park and had sides for both small and large dogs. - Amenities- there were several stations with poop bags, several human and doggy water fountains, and tennis balls galore! There was also a bridge to walk over and a splash area that may have been out of order when I went. There was also a row of Adirondack chairs for the humans. Cons: Humans- those comfy chairs make it too easy for humans to sit lazily and ignore their dogs which was the case when I went. When I go to a dog park I am never too far from my dog and always attentive in case of poop duty or an uncomfortable encounter with another dog. This behavior was nonexistent at this park. I was the only human around the dogs and not sitting along the fence not paying attention. Because of this I noticed many of be dogs were staying close by their owners and not enjoying all the park has to offer. Dogs deserve better than that. Amenities- the splash area and doggy bridge looked cool but that was pretty much all there was for dogs to do (other than play with the millions of tennis balls lying around). It seems that most of the money spent on this place went into making it look snazzy (the Adirondack chairs, the colored turf, the modern looking canopy, and the engraved stones in the walkway at the entrance). A lot more of that money could have been spent on things that the dogs would have enjoyed like agility training courses that I've seen at other dog parks. Bottom line- if I lived nearby I would bring my dog here but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

The park is beautiful...but as any local will tell you BEWARE of owners attitudes. A great example is this morning: We took our 6.5 lb toy poodle to the park for the first time. We were in the small dog section with one other dog and its owner having a good time. Apparently maintenance told the large dog owners that while there were blowing leaves out of the large dog area to take their dogs to the small dog area. We realized this when a Great Dane spun my wife around and I found her laying at my feet. The dog did this on the way to attack our small dog. No apologies from anyone. Maintenance ignored the issue as did the large dog owners as the two of us with small dogs left. Whoever is in charge of this mess should get it under control. Reading others reviews this issue is ongoing and will lead to liability issues. read more

Beau must have been a big dreamer because this dog park is truly a dream come true for these furry friends! Fully loaded with amenities for the humans and the pets! A long stretch of beautifully shaded seating area for more relaxed owners, or dogs atop a deck; a splash pad and tennis ball launching tree for the dogs with tons of running room on the turf! Both the large and small dog sides have adorable spaces with faucets and an area to soak your dog on the real hot days. Abby had an amazing time! read more

I'm fairly new to the whole dog park experience but I'm confident this is top notch. Sure, you may experience a few issues inherent to just taking your dog outside (occasional idiot not cleaning up after their pet, irresponsible owners, bully dogs, etc) but nothing outrageous. I have a small dog and love that she can go play on the small dog side. Most people are very friendly and responsible - which has helped a lot in social rehabilitation of my little rescue dog. The park is very charming but I think that it's the small touches that make it - chairs for owners, obstacles for dogs, dog waste bags and bins, and turf grass. I love to frequent it so my little city dog can run free! read more

The dog park has 2 sides (small dog and large dog). Occasionally there is a large dog in the small dog side because the owner also owns a small dog as well. The park is great. There's always tennis balls to play with and water bowls for the dogs. Some owners don't pick up after their dogs and some owners also don't watch their dogs (which is a shame since some dogs get too excited and turn aggressive and their owners just sit there in a chair and do nothing). The one thing I really dislike that I've seen here a couple of times is people bringing their 3 year olds or younger into the dog parks. Sometimes they don't even own dogs!!!!! Just using it as a playground for their children and then I'm made to feel bad when my dog knocks them over. Please leave young children at home. Some dogs are not good with children and this is a DOG park after all. read more

I don't know who loves this place more - me or my dog. We live downtown with a small yard so it's a great place for him to stretch his legs. Comes complete with tennis ball launcher, fountains, lots of hills, plenty of water stations, and poop bags! read more

Went with my yellow lab yesterday for the first time. It was better then what I had expected! She was happy , we were happy. "Bully dogs" around but owner seemed to be pretty attentive... Someone didn't clean up... no huge issues. Overall it was a nice experience, we'll defiantly be back ! read more
