Our shop minimum is $100 that is for a quarter sized tattoo. The price increases based off of actual size, location of tattoo and detail in tattoo. We dont give estimates over email, would rather the clients come in for estimates from our artists

My mom and sister got a few old piercings re-opened and a few new ones as well. Staff are great about explaining everything and were super careful about keeping everything clean, lots of hand washing, multiple sets of gloves, everything sealed and opened in front of you. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Tip: just because they only take walk-ins (unless it's a child's appointment) does not mean there is endless availability (especially on the weekends). When we visited they only had one piercer in, and early in the day filled up their queue and had to turn some folks away. So if you're driving a distance or can't come back another time your best bet is to wait for a weekday, or on the weekends arrive when they open and be willing to kill some time around town. Calling ahead probably wouldn't hurt either.

Nina not only walked me through all of the options with a pricing sheet in front of me, she helped me measure what size hoop would fit my conch best (an issue I've had for YEARS and never had solved which resulted in me never having jewelry in that piercing) and talked me through why certain jewelry wouldn't work well with my anatomy! She gave me time to look through all of the options and helped whenever I needed. I explained some issues I've had with buying crappy jewelry in the past and she didn't shame me about it, but instead offered advice on how to keep my piercings healthy while not using the greatest quality jewelry until i'm able to upgrade it to better stuff in the future. While the jewelry is expensive, the quality is amazing and the pieces are beautiful. If you're going to buy real gold pieces that are going to last, you'll have to know it's going to be a bit more pricey. Regardless of this, Nina never made me feel pressured to buy anything and made me feel so comfortable the entire process. She's extremely personable and kind, and I had a great time chatting with her throughout the process. Today I went into buy earrings and I feel like I was totally ripped off. I told the sales associate that I was looking for something that wouldn't tarnish and that had a flat back. She led me to a glass box on the island in the middle of the store. I picked out two studs from the glass container. It was my understanding that these are the earrings that people pick out when they want their ears pierced. Before she went and grabbed the studs and the flat backs, she said they were nonrefundable. I said that was fine. In my mind, nonrefundable means when you buy the item, you can't return it. In this case, what nonrefundable meant was the minute she had opened package the earrings came in, I couldn't change my mind. I don't know why she couldn't just place them in another package. At any jewelry store when you ask the sales associate to take something out of the container, that doesn't mean you are tied to buying that item. What was annoying to me was the backings. For two backings, it was $108. I feel like for that price you need to tell the customer what they're getting into. I did not realize that the backing and the earring were sold separately. Totally a rip off. I walked out of there spending $244 on two studs and two flat backs. I guess I had picked earrings that only one specific backing would fit on? I wish the sales associate had offered me more options or at least told me that each backing was going to be $54 each....... Since she had already opened the package the earrings came inside , I had to make the purchase. I decided to put the earrings on in the store. The earrings and the backings are the size of a small ant and when I asked for her help, she said she could not help me because "she wasn't a nurse." Furthermore, when I asked if there was a device that could help grab the earring and place it in my ear that I could use, she said she could not allow me to use it. Overall, the earrings are cute and I don't think they'll tarnish (they shouldn't for freaking $300 ) but I wouldn't buy jewelry from here. The backings and the earrings are two separate prices and it's kind of a rip off

I only have a few tattoos, and usually the ones I have some type of significance. When my grandpa passed a few years ago, I knew I wanted to get something to honor him. He taught me how to drive, owned over 100 cars, and loved driving more than anything, so I figured a car would be a great way to memorialize him. Matty was the artist to bring my idea to life. He designed a mid to late 60's mustang with florals and a silhouette of my grandpa in the driver's seat. I was in love with the design as soon as he unveiled it. Based on the placement I wanted the piece on my arm I had to lay down in an awkward position, but Matty worked quickly and tattooed delicately. I couldn't be any happier with the finished product! As far as the shop is concerned, everyone was super polite. It can be intimidating walking into a tattoo shop, and you can tell they cultivated an environment for all here. An artist (Angie) took about more than an hour to design a tattoo for fingers (they were dots and little ornaments) to then charge $200 for it. Look at photo they're awful. Asked to stop before finishing because it was bad. This comes from someone with 15+ tattoos... Yes I know what can happen in a tiny area for fingers but still it looks like garbage. Even worse we contacted the owner (Joe Miller) who not only defended the artist and the price but basically gas lit us and said that the artist can do touch ups and that that's what can happen when you do a finger tattoo. It's unfortunate because people in the area said the owner was cool and would make it right but apparently that's not the truth.

I am so thankful that my husband and I found this place. We were coming in from North Carolina for our wedding and really wanted to get tattoos as our souvenir. I was so confused and conflicted by the many reviews that I read for the top rated tattoo places in the Denver area, lots of people saying negative things, or glowing reviews... needless to say, I was torn. We took a shot in the dark and chose Tribe, and requested Connie, because she seemed to have the closest style to what we wanted. I am so thankful we chose them! Firstly, I often times get judged when I walk into tattoo shops, like I'm not being taken serious or I am just some dumb girl who wants a flower tattoo. When we walked in, the place was super clean and chic, but also, we were greeted with the utmost kindness and genuinely felt welcomed, and not at all judged. Also, we were offered candy and water like a million times during the appointments, which was a really nice touch, although, I did eat a lot of candy by the end. As far as our actual work went, I was floored with how well Connie worked with our requests. She just jumped right in with everything we asked, and just sketched it on us right then and there. The work she did was truly phenomenal. If you are looking for something very organic and fine, or a nature piece, this is your girl. She was so talkative, without being intrusive, and made us feel at home from the second we sat down. My husband wasn't even going to get a tattoo, but after he saw how kind, and talented she was, he caved and got a large piece. I really cannot say enough about this place. Also, if you're on the line, tattoos are what you make of them. Be specific and don't get butt hurt when you have to pay; don't forget that you are paying for someones art, not just their ability, and that is worth every damn penny. read more

I have many tattoos done by different artists . The most recent was done by Bryce at Tribe. I cannot fully express my disappointment in the way I was regarded by him ( and everyone else at the shop) and the product itself. I came 30 minutes early as requested by he owner's wife and apparent overlord of the artists. I was never able to communicate with Bryce directly as she screened all of my emails and texts. Bizarre. When I arrived Bryce had a sketch he'd done that looked like clip art and almost nothing like the photos I had sent. When I expressed concern he was annoyed and rude saying he had a "Big piece" to do in an hour and didn't have time to adjust his sketch. I insisted. He implied that my over priced design (200.00 for a 3 color , 2"x2" simple poppy) wasn't in any way important and that I was a nuisance. Believe me, he was an ass. My instinct was to tell him to suck it and walk out but my impatience to get the piece overrode my best interest. I could go on & on about this but suffice it to say i now have to get the whole thing covered by someone else who has actual skill and not just an over inflated ego. Just take a look at the monstrosity I ended up with. It looks like a child's crayon drawing AND to add insult to injury, it became infected. I know how to care for tattoos and have NEVER had this issue. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. read more

After extensive research and several reviews from friends, I chose Tribe & John for my first tattoo. In short, couldn't have had a better experience than the one I rec'd at Tribe...they have made a lifelong customer due to their professionalism, design, execution, and thoughtfulness. After spending over six hours in the shop getting my tattoo complete, I can easily and honestly say that other tattoo shops will be hard pressed to compete with Tribe in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and its welcoming and inclusive vibe. The entire staff was friendly and engaging and made a tattoo-newbie feel as comfortable as the seasoned veteran. The shop was always in perfect order, roomie, and had they served food, I would have had no qualms eating there...it was that clean! At its core, Tribe is a tattoo shop focused on custom tattoos, and it crushed my expectations of what a tattoo can and should be. I gave John some loose guidelines, but the bulk of the design was in his hands and he took the vision I had in my mind and brought it to life! Tribe Tattoo is amazing. Bottom line. Period. End of story. Don't even consider going anywhere else. Spent two days getting a half-sleeve done by Kristie. She is an amazing artist and I had to tap out before she ran out of ideas and the willingness to stick me. If you are looking for a top-notch experience with unsurpassed professionalism, this is where you need to go. The shop is immaculate, the staff if extremely friendly(no tattoo snobbery like many other shops you may visit), and their work surpassed all expectations I had envisioned for the tattoo. I was on a very tight timeline to get the tattoo finished, and they were more than willing to accommodate my needs. I'm not one to write reviews online, but the experience I had here(with the final product), I felt I needed to sign up to let people know, this is THE only tattoo shop in Denver you should be considering for your next(or first) piece. I cannot stress to you how much I love Tribe Tattoo! John Slaughter is amazing and a true artist. I know, he's going to do an good job for me every single time. He has done amazing work on my color tattoos (Phoenix, Monkey and Dragon) and I would NEVER consider going to any other artist under any circumstance-I will always be loyal to Tribe Tattoo!! John is simply AMAZING!! The atmosphere is great! The music playing is AWESOME! The rates are very, very reasonable, and, you want an artist who will do a great job, and that's exactly what you get with John Slaughter and his "grip of death" while doing your tattoo...LOL!! CROWDADDY HERE ..... I've known John for over 30 years. I can remember back to the time when he was a bartender at purple martini, showing me his sketches sharing his dreams and they all came true. He's truly one of a kind, and his artwork is not only original, ACROSS A MYRIAD OF SPECTRUMS but speaks volumes to how he puts his heart and soul into every piece. I strongly suggest those who have been tattooed to anyone looking at getting their first one. Make an appointment with John sit down with him because after all, it's gonna last your lifetime. He'll make sure he puts together what your vision is and even opened your eyes to how it can become beyond your wildest dreams. My artist is Ben Granillo. I gave him quite the project to take on. I went in with an unfinished Polynesian half sleeve/chest piece that was very messy and unorganized. Most artists would have turned down such a project simply because there was a lot to fix and also add on. Right away, he showed me he had the confidence to recreate a masterpiece that I couldn't fathom. His attention to detail gives you the appreciation of his craft. He's always evolving as an artist too.. whether it's upgrading his tattoo machines or learning new principles of tattooing, there's nobody else I would rather want to work on this special project. I moved to Denver three years ago and searched high and low for a place with talented artists, friendly service, and a positive atmosphere. I stumbled upon Tribe and was BLOWN AWAY. Tribe is the BEST shop in greater Denver - trust me, don't waste your time looking. I had a significant amount of work done years before by four different artists at four different shops, so I know the game and have been around. The places I had prior work done include the other "best" shops in Denver, so I'm directly comparing them... I work with Levi and would HIGHLY recommend him for anything and everything you want. Tribe tattoo is amazing! They are very professional and the shop seems very sanitary which is clearly a plus. I went to Kenny K for a cover-up back in July, and he did an amazing job. My mom was out visiting in September and her and I both went back for more. Kenny drew my mom a custom cross which was exactly what she wanted. He was very willing to add/make changes as she desired until it was PERFECT. We did an add-on piece to my cover-up which turned out great. I have my next appt scheduled for tomorrow and I cant wait to go back! My mom is already talking about making a road trip with a friend from ND to come back so her friend can get one too. I am from out of town and decided that while traveling in Denver for 2 weeks I would get some work done on my down time. I did a bunch of research on the different places out here before deciding that Tribe is where I wanted to go. Long story short, John (owner) was able to see my vision for a family dedication piece that I wanted redone--but not only did he cover some old sh*tty work, he was able to take it to the next level. I spent a total of about 6 hours under his needle and I do not regret one bit of it. He is an amazing artist. What a great place to have a tattoo done!! From the minute I walked in, Holly was super friendly and made me feel instantly comfortable. Because of the fact I was having a lower stomach tattoo done, I though I would be super uncomfortable all day, but all of the staff was super professional. I came in with a specific design in mind and Connie nailed it!! Not only did she create a drawing from pictures that I put together she had to cover a large scar on my lower stomach. We spent 6 1/2 hours working straight through and it turned out beautifully. I Love this Place I have been going there for the past 2 years and John Slaughter is nothing less than the best tattoo artist in Denver hell maybe the country. In reference to Brooke D: I have been going to John Slaughter for about five years. His shop is the best shop that you could ever get ink done at!!!! The whole staff from top to bottom is the best in the state. You could eat a steak off of the floor. Brooke..... John Slaughter has put ink on people way more important than you, and not one bad thing has ever been said. Funny thing is that they keep comming back!!! Words cannot do this place justice. Everything from the owner and staff, to the decor and overall setting. Upon entering the shop I was immediately greeted with a smile from Holly, the shop manager. After a quick chat about what I was looking for, she recommended me to her husband/owner John Slaughter. They were two of the friendliest and most professional people I have ever met. I came to Tribe after asking numerous people for recommendations and they kept coming up. I went in as a walk in early Friday afternoon and was helped right away. I (unknowingly) gave Teddy Nigels two of the hardest things to tattoo - a perfect circle and a star - he did them perfectly. Teddy was gentle and precise. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with John Slaughter and his tattooing abilities. He just finished a full sleeve for me, and now we're continuing the theme (koi in a river) down my back and side, to just above my knee. His work is amazing, and I've sent several friends to him. People seem to think that he's booked solid for months in advance, but that's not the case. Of course he's busy, but he's able to get new clients in quickly and I've never had an issue booking appointments. The entire shop does amazing work. Let's put it this way, I created a Yelp account just to write this review. I drove all the way up to Denver from Colorado Springs in a snow storm to get my tat. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Tribe. Levi was super laid back and took my tattoo idea and made it better than I thought possible. His line work is phenomenal. He's the only artist I will be going to from now on. Tribe Tattoo is a great shop to go to for any of your tattoo or piercing needs. This is by far the best shop I've been to in Denver!!! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by friendly, professional staff who did not hesitate to answer any of my questions. The shop is very clean and sterile along with a welcoming environment. I felt totally at ease and confident knowing that I was going to leave there with a unique and beautiful tattoo. John rocks and his work is absolutely amazing! I will most definitely be going back to this shop for my next piece and would highly recommend everyone check this place out before going anywhere else. read more

The whole experience (from start to finish) was impressive. Everyone who works at Tribe is very professional and accommodating. From the bottled water to the lollipops, I was impressed. Now, on to the tattoo... I got a panda (because I'm obsessed) and Jorge did an amazing job. He made sure I knew what to expect with the different needles (level of pain, etc...) and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I'm not in Denver often, but I will definitely return to Tribe the next time I'm in town! read more

I'd been wanting to get my first tattoo for a while. I searched high and low to find the best in Denver. I came across Kristie Latimore's portfolio and was like, DONE, that's my girl. She did not disappoint. Not only did she give me an outstandingly beautiful first tattoo but she gave me my second as well. They turned out way more amazing than I could've ever imagined. I let him know I wasn't happy with his work and he said he'd fix it. He has since canceled twice and made no effort to reschedule me despite my repeated attempts to try. The artist that did my work is no longer there and I was nervous as to how things would work out. The owner Ben got back with me and was very helpful. I have multiple thigh pieces, one on my side stomach ish area, we're working on my sleeve now and are getting pretty close to finishing it.
