First, thanks to friends, Liz and Tracy of PMQ pizza magazine, for bringing me to the TriBecca Allie Cafe. I am forever in your debt. Thank you Dutch and Rebecca for the best pizza of my life and for the wonderful visit with you last Friday. When I left, it felt like I was saying goodbye to family. I already miss you, and the pizza. I've already recommended your pizza to a business associate in Mississippi who will be stopping by soon. My wife's family and I went here for dinner last night and had an amazing meal! Not only was the pizza expertly crafted in a handmade (yes, the chef built it himself) brick oven but the locale of this family owned cozy pizza place that, at one time, served as the old post office is nothing short of amazing. Located in the heart of Main Street in Sardis, MS, a very quiet southern town that oozes with history, TriBecca Allie is seemingly pioneering a movement. As a native Brooklyn, New Yorker, I know good pizza when I see it and these guys are doing it right. In fact, they've even won national awards for their innovative twists on classic creations (their signature Magnolia Rosa pizza has gotten them a lot of recognition). The dough is just right and can't be matched by anything within hundreds of miles I'd wager. Nobody else is doing what they're doing. What made everything taste even better was that the warm family who owns Tribecca Allie eagerly shared their tales of town history and a long family lineage in the town of Sardis and invited us to the kitchen to check out the masterful pizza oven. If the absolutely one of a kind locale wasn't unbelievable enough, one has to wonder... how the heck did they learn how to cook like that?! If you're within a reasonable distance, GO! Folks from Memphis over 60 miles away have been making the pilgrimage but I'd bet that pretty soon they'll be coming all the way from the real TriBecCa to bite into that crust. Delicious. read more

When I want pizza, nothing but TriBecca Allie will do. It is the best pizza I've ever eaten. What makes it so good? First, they use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients. A great pizza starts with a great crust, and TriBecca's is second to none. For something as simple as water, flour, and yeast, it has a creamy richness that I've never tasted in another crust. One can tell they spent many many hours perfecting their crust. Fresh herbs. Hand-sliced meats. Salads made when you order them. In my favorite pie, the polpette, they use meatballs made in house, slice them, and generously dot the pie with ricotta. The richness of the meatballs is balanced with the mildness of the ricotta; it is a stunningly delicious combination. Secondly is the atmosphere, with pizzas going in and out of that beautiful brick oven in a tastefully renovated old building that keeps the charm of the place in tact. Thirdly, the service. They treat you right, and if you ask a question about the place, they are happy to regale you with a tale or two. Added together, it is one fine dining experience. I walk out happy every single time. After hearing rave reviews from acquaintances, family and friends, my wife and I picked this place as our dining option for date night tonight. As we first arrived, not knowing exactly what to expect (except that they apparently had "the best pizza EVAR!!!"), we noticed that the seating options were extremely limited (we found out later that there exists a patio with more seats when the weather is nicer). Combine that with a busy Saturday dinner time timeframe and we were concerned that we would have to go elsewhere as the place was jampacked with a small line (which in this case means a good thing). We almost got back in the car and left when the wife spied some tables clearing out and we slithered up to snag them before anyone else could lay claim to them first. The seating WAS, in fact, limited and there were quite a few tables in that small space - and yet, it wasn't crowded feeling at all - which was awesome! There was an open kitchen smack dab in the middle of the café and plenty of wait staff (who, might I add, were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. They were extremely knowledgable about the restaurant, it's' specials, local favorites and even added towards the end of our meal to grab dessert next door at the sweet shoppe also owned by the café owners. We ordered the BRICK OVEN SHRIMP for our appetizer and a PIEMONTESE 12" Pizza. I ordered a Dr. Pepper and my wife got a Coke. When our waitress returned with our drinks I was surprised that they were can sodas with a companion glass of ice and a straw. Our appetizer was served in a baked pasta dish on a pizza platter. The shrimp were delicious. Baked in a garlic & butter sauce topped with fresh basil and served with a side of mozzarella topped wood-fired flatbread. After the shrimp were divided and shortly conquered, we split the bread and proceeded to mop up the garlic butter sauce. #worthit The pizza platter that came out was served on an empty #10 Can of Whole Tomatoes, which, while slightly quirky, added to the overall charm. The pizza was transcendental. Crispy, warm, thin, chewy - I felt like I'd just flown to NYC for a pie! It was amazing. After dinner, we proceeded to leave, but not before our waiter/waitress/host/hostess combo informed us about the FROG PEARL STATION where we could get dessert including but not limited to gelatos, cookies, coffee and tea. We paid and tipped and then had a wonderful time at the recommended dessert stop. I personally recommend this place hands down, bar none to anyone who will go. I will return as often (as the wife and finances allow) as I can to sample all of their menu offerings as well as the specials (which I hear are as random as they are delicious) too! I have worked at six pizza restaurants in my life and eaten thousands of slices of pizza over the course of my travels, but this unassuming cafe in an unassuming Mississippi town raised the bar on my favorite food. While traveling to Memphis on Good Friday, I stopped here for lunch and ordered the Bianca white pizza. This small restaurant must have a loyal customer base since the owners seemed to know most of the people coming in. The wood-burning oven gave my pizza a crust that was the perfect balance between chewy and crispy. Every bite produced the ideal pull of cheese that lets you know you're getting your money's worth. One of the owners told me they opened the cafe because they couldn't find any pizza they liked. It was obvious he took great pride in their product, and one taste will let you know why. read more

Stopped here for lunch on the way back from Jackson, MS. We decided to get takeout and not eat in, but we did stop in and take a look at the decor when picking up our pizza. The place looked clean and well kept; it'd be a fine place for a date night. The staff was extremely friendly as well. The pizza looked like pizza that's authentic from Italy. However, the taste was totally different. The taste of the pizza was okay; the sauce needed something else, and the cheese needed help. The pizza crust was a little bit too thick and doughy for me towards the ends (almost deep dish pizza), and thin towards the middle. It was almost as if the pizza was taking a little bit from each different pizza "discipline" (Chicago, New York, and Neapolitan). The pizza is just fine, but it needed an identity. I guess this in itself made it one of a kind if you really think about it, but overall the pizza was lacking flavor, taste, and texture. I'm not saying that it's not good pizza, because it is, but I'm just saying that I'm not too sure what the first 9 reviews with 5 stars is all about. Consider the source whenever you're reading reviews for this place or any other place. For example, Alex B. from L.A. gave this place 5 stars. Within his other reviews, he rated Subway 5 stars (really?!?!) This is far from the best pizza I've ever had. However, it is still a decent/good/above average pizza. We had a great meal the time we stopped in. The staff was super nice and answered all our questions. They told me they make the bread and I believe them as it was not run of the mill at all. Super light and fresh bread. I had the dill shrimp sandwich and it was really good! The pizza was way above average also. Wish this place was closer to Memphis! The guy we were staying with in Memphis for the weekend is a fantastic bread baker, and dabbles in pizza dough. We were raving about his pizzas late on Friday and he said, "You need to go to TriBecca Allie." So on Sunday, on our way home, we took a bit of a detour and pulled up in front of the beautifully restored old building on the edge of Sardis's two block long Main Street. We'd brought a bottle of Italian wine, and borrowed an opener from the server. The special that day was shepherds pie, but we'd come for the pizza, so that's all we looked at on the menu -- half a dozen white choices, and for the red. For the white pizza, we chose their award winning Magnolia Rosa Insalata, and for the red, the Diavolo. I started with the Diavolo and decided it was my favorite of the two -- pepperoni & red peppers spiced perfectly. The Magnolia was wonderful as well and distinctly different, with the pecans & arugula complementing the cheeses. Lynn started with that one and chose it as her favorite. I think if we'd reversed the ones we started with, we would've reversed our choices. Masterful crusts in the New York style. We ordered the 10 inch pizzas rather than 14, but still only ate half of each. No problem -- we finished them for supper that evening. One of the owners stopped by to chat as we were finishing up, told us some about how they got there, how they'd experimented over and over with their dough until they had it just right. It was clear that she was very proud of her little place and quite rightly so. Lynn mentioned that the shepherd's pie looked great as well, but since this was our first visit we had to have the pizzas. Of course, she said, and you can try the daily special next time. We told her where we lived and said it was likely we wouldn't get back any time soon -- although I'd certainly be willing to take another detour to get there. We said our goodbyes and then, as we were leaving, she set another togo box on top of our pizza and whispered -- "Take some of the shepherd's pie with you..." And it was every bit as good as it looked. read more

This is a very small place, we went on a Saturday night in September of 2013. We had to sit upstairs but it was fablous. It was a little hot but they had fans going all around. The pizza is outstanding. They don't serve liquor but you can bring your own. The staff was friendly and the place is so quaint and unique. It is worth stopping by. read more

Drove all the way down from Memphis after finding out about this place online. Well worth the drive. The interior is charming and the staff is friendly. The pizza is insanely good. The house special, the Magnolia Rosa Insalata, is a mozzarella, red onion and Mississippi pecan pizza with a salad on top of it made of fresh greens, pine nuts and a wonderful house vinaigrette. It's a taste explosion that left me dazed, confused and wanting more. My brother ordered the potato pizza and it was like a pizza version of loaded potato skins and it was also fantastic. The desserts are all home made and taste like love. The caramel cobbler doesn't overwhelm you with caramel but caresses you with its warm buttery sweetness. The pumpkin pie has sweet potato overtones to it and on a scale of 1 to 10 can best be described as "best Thanksgiving ever." I know this review might sound a bit hyperbolic but this place deserves to be hyped up that much. We first fell in love with the charm of downtown Sardis and fell equally in love with the rustic architectural details within the restaurant. The MRS was like nothing I've ever had. It's like a salad and pizza combined in a surprisingly amazing delicious way. We also tried the Carmel cobbler, which was delicious. We're from St. Louis and I love trying pizza everywhere I go. This pizza stands out as one of the bests I've ever had. Found this jewel on Yelp as we traveled down 55. Less than ten tables, our waitress was most welcoming and attentive. They have a wood burning oven so I had to have Margarita pizza...took me back to many lunches in Italy...delicious and all ingredients so fresh. My husband had the special of the day...Jambala! We come to this area once a week and just happen to be driving around aimlessly and thought it was cute and worth a try. We had the regular Calzone and the potato pizza , they were Awesome ! I love potato pizza and this was one of the best , really good crust and the pizza had great flavor with a lot on it . No skimping on toppings like some places do . My husband and son really liked the Calzone . This place is gonna become one of our regulars when we are in this area. It's worth a try , you won't be disappointed ! Someone recommended this place to me. Found out soon after arriving that the owners were from New York and they served New York style pizza. So I was excited to try it. We found out pretty quick that it was not good New York pizza. The sauce was super watery, the inside of the pizza was doughy (still raw) and the bottom had burnt spots on it. We got one of their house specialty pizza and I just didn't get a warm and fuzzy about it. It was like eating pizza I could make at home. Nothing special, nothing stood out as unique. The waitress was very cold and matter of fact. Space is very small and crowded. We have an infant and we felt like she would get knocked over by anyone that walked by. Also, they have super weird hours and it took us 4 tries to finally find this place open!!! Defiantly not worth the wait. Its in the a very small, hole in the wall town. So not worth the drive.
