A mailer, which seems to bother so many who have reviewed here is how my family and I found Trident Society when my father passed unexpectedly in an accident. I am sure he was meaning to make arrangements, that was why he hung onto the mailer. Like Shelby, I was wary of using Trident based on some of the reviews here, but I also noticed that the reviews had nothing to do with the services as much as they did the mailers. It was worth a phone call. The location manager took my call and answered sensitive questions with ease. She had an easy manner on the phone and I was impressed with her qualifications. I also appreciated that she told me if I were not in a hurry, to do myself a favor and check around with other providers. That as much as Trident would be honored to help me, being educated on what else was out there was important too. I chose Trident because of the price, and because of the courteous and easy way I was treated on the phone. When I went to make the arrangements, it was the same atmosphere. No pressure, not sales driven speeches, just an offering of the things we really DID need. We were not having a service, so there was no hurry for the cremated remains, but I still received my urn with my dad in just over a week, far sooner than I thought I would. The manager, said that Trident owned its own crematory and thought it was not on site, it only is used for trident deceased, allowing for a much faster turnaround. After reading about people waiting, I was sure there would be some wait, but there really wasn't. The price was right, the location was attractive and tastefully decorated and the staff was well dressed and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better result. read more

I had one of Trident Society's representatives come to my house today for a meeting to discuss their rates and to get a feel for their professionalism and handling of my family's issue with my mother happening right now. I had totally forgotten about the meeting, and I was so glad that my Trident Representative was able to remind me after a few minutes of a conversation we had that I had indeed made an appointment for today. The representative was NOTHING BUT wonderful, respectful, and she didn't say anything or act in any way which made me think their operation was not above board. The amount of the cremation services includes the box and the amenities. The price quoted is, when paid in full and was less than $1600, was all inclusive of picking up of remains within a 75 mile radius of my home, the cremation itself, and my mother's ashes (when the death does actually occur, we have a little time, though not alot) will be placed in upto 3 receptacles including one that can have the ashes scattered in water if you want, which was comforting as my mother has possession of her 2nd husband's cremated remains and wants to be scattered with him. Speaking of...my representative told me that for no extra charge, they would take the cremated remains my mother has and co-mingle his ashes with my mother's for joint scattering, which REALLY impressed me. I will write another review when the death occurs and the cremation happens to report on how well (or how well they botched) the handling of my mother's remains was done. I almost did not use Trident society based on the reviews I read here. H pwever, my father's cremation was paid in full and before i wasted the money and went elsewhere, I felt I needed to at least be thorough and contact the location. I immediately bonded with a funeral director named Nadine who never once made me feel like a burden or that my questions were ridiculous. She was friendly, efficient and made it a goal to have my cremated remains back to me in time for a service we were planning. She explained that the extra charges were minimal and were state fees that are not guaranteed by the pre-need my father had. She was able to get my urn back to me in less than a week so we were able to have my father's service prior to the holiday's. All of the people I dealt with at Trident were professional and made me feel like I was the only family they were serving even though I knew they had lots of families they were taking care of. My review is specifically for the Walnut Creek facility. Those of you who are thoughtlessly giving this facility a bad name who have never even used it should exercise restraint. It is not fair to the hardworking staff at the Walnut Creek facility who are beinding over backward to accomodate and treat the rest of us with dignity. The service is excellent. Suzi Vasquez at the Walnut Creek branch is very efficient and organized. My mother's body was picked up at the hospital. The following day, I was contacted to meet at the office for signing documents. At a time when a family is grieving the loss of a loved one, Suzi arranged every paperwork. Noteworthy is the fact that during the COvid19 pandemic, the county is on a skeletal workforce-meaning death certificates would normally take 3-4 weeks processing. In my case, I was travelling and Suzi expedited not only the cremation schedule but also the early release of my mother's death certificate. I was given the option to pay for a witness cremation. She was there too and all went smoothly. She even had the staff put make up on my mother to make her look presentable prior to cremation. She also allowed family members of up to 10 people to have a final viewing prior to cremation. In 2 days time, she called me to pickup the ashes of my mother, put them inside the urn, and all paper works-permit to travel , and death certificates where done smoothly with minimal wait times. If you have questions, she was readily available, and is a great listener. I highly recommend Trident Society and a shoutout to this wonderful lady Suzi Vasquez. She is the best. Small office and staff, but adequate for the needs my family and I had. The ladies work well together and when one wasn't available to us the other one always was. The receptionist needs to smile more, but then again that could be because most of us visiting the office are not smiling. I found no pressure to purchase additional items, although I found myself buying an urn pendant because my arranger wore one that she said had her parents in it. This appealed to me and the only reason I got it was because she was wearing hers and I asked about it, not because it was forced on me. Even though my mother's urn was pre-paid for, it was also antiquated and Nadine allowed me to upgrade to something nicer and gave me a fair credit for the old urn. Cremation time with a little slow, but we were not planning any service and we were told up-front that if we were having a service all stops would be pulled out to hasten getting them back in time. All in all this was a good experience and I would use Trident again. The aftercare has been good and I received a thank you note from them which I thought was a nice touch. read more

Normally, I wouldn't write a review but I read the two already on the site, and they have nothing to do with the service. They are only complaints of people working to contact people. These people are probably those kind that are always out to "get your job". I know people who own this service, and there is no way to know about it unless someone actually makes direct contact. How many services do you know that are put into play because of nominal information that one might get from a brochure? Get a life and stop complaining. Guess what, you are going to die, and you have to be alive to prepare for your wishes in advance. It's not about age, it's about maturity. In fact, age could be a problem if health and/or competency becomes an issue. Think a little before writing negative reviews when you admittedly know nothing about the product or service. My parents passed away and they had their cremation services set up for us already it made the very difficult time much easier. I decided to do the same thing for my husband myself and my adult disabled son. My husband and I are reaching an age where we don't know if we're going to stay in the city where we are now or we may move out of state. Buying a cremation through a funeral home might not be the best idea, I found out about that Trident Society through my friend Veronica who had started working for them. The best part about buying from the Trident society is they will pick up the remains wherever you are ! The process was easy; not very expensive and gives you peace of mind. What a slim ball company taking advantage of family members who have lost a loved one. I got a price quote from their "used car salesman" of $2200. Over twice what others were quoting. I told this guy he was too expensive and I wasn't interested. Their douchebag salesman has been calling EVERY DAY........EVERY DAY for the past three weeks. I have told this guy to stop calling....I have yelled at him.....I have called their office, and this guy keeps calling. We ended up paying $949 for my mothers cremation at a local passionate company. The Trident salesman tried to scare me and said they will try to charge me for every little thing and will end up costing more than what Trident charges. read more

Suzie Vasquez assisted our family after the death of our Mother and she was so wonderful. I can't describe that feeling when you walk into a place having to deal with such a difficult thing as the death of someone you love. The office in WC was so warm and comfortable, we were greeted immediately by the staff, and we liked Suzie right away. She is warm and easy to talk with. She spoke with us in such a personal way that made us feel comforted immediately. I had a lot of dread going into the cremation process of my mother, but Trident helped us through it and we would absolutely recommend it to families going through this. I cannot say enough good things about how the Trident Society handled my dear husbands death. Our Representative was Suzie Vasquez who is definitely a 5 star employee!! Suzie showed my daughter and I much compassion and love on our phone visits and she helped us with much patience and understanding through the paperwork. I lost my big brother right before Christmas in 2019. Ed contacted me immediately and we discussed what and when everything needed to be done. He is the most compassionate, friendly, and gracious young man I have had the pleasure to meet, in a very long time. My Dad died late last year and I have been delinquent in writing this review. From the salesperson Sean who came out and met with us at home, explaining the procedures and timeline, to Mary in the office who guided us through the process, we had a very comforting experience. Mary made sure my Dad's remains were transported out of CA to the East Coast and tracked the progress for us. I cannot say enough about the caring attitudes of both of them. Trident Society helped my family so much in March of 2014. My father passed away and my brothers and I turned to Trident Society for help with all the arrangements for our father to be cremated and they even added him to the remains of our mother for us. trident is refusing to give the family my fathers ashes claiming his 10 year old paperwork states that trident will distribute ashes instead of following his last wishes. to involve family we need to pay and additional $1600 or $2400. Trident says we need a court order to let my father rest in peace. Amazing and disgusting hubris of this company following supposed rules instead of last wishes and family values. read more

Excellent all around. Deceased was picked up quickly and treated with respect. I was able to get death certificates and remains after about 10 days. I worked with Mary, who was respectful, efficient, and friendly. Salesperson who explained the service when we first contacted trident was thorough and patient.
