The only place in town to get post cards, though you probably don't know what I'm talking about. I got some local maple syrup, and some beverages because I was visiting during a heat wave. Way more expensive than other stores and the unfinished look of the floors is an eye sore. Rare to see any employees smile or look customers in the eye and say hello. Prices are anywhere from 10% to 35% higher than other places in the area, for the exact same products. You also have to be careful as I have often found outdated products, and have stopped buy ground meat here due to old meat being mixed in with new and then put back out for sale. I have also found butcher packages with newer labels on them to cover a label showing an earlier experation date. read more

First time at this location; really nice interior (they have recently remodeled). They have a dining area where you can eat the food from the hot table, which, by the way, is delicious. I grabbed a chicken salad sandwich as I was in dire need of protein; pretty tasty. Always nice folks at Trig's! read more

This store is the pits! Very high prices! The meat is not good. Beef roasts must be cooked in a slow cooker for 8 hours when they are a cut that should be able to be roasted. Their own smoked products are really nasty. The staff is frequently grumpy ( I don't believe they are treated well by management). Coupons have restrictions written in tiny fonts. Their deli is very mediocre and don't ever ask for a bucket of chicken or a rotisserie chicken before 10:30! Although their ad says they are available from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the Deli ladies have decided it's 10:30. If you ask before then, they snipe at you and grouch about "10:30!!" even though the product is cooked and ready for sale. I drive 20 miles to a friendlier, more customer-pleasing store. read more

Trig's has a nice selection of items. I mainly come here when in town for items I can't get anywhere else. Their prices are outrageous and getting worse. Not sure it is worth it anymore. Might just head down to Wausau occasionally. They remodeled the store a year or so back, but the floors are a real eyesore. Don't know why they didn't finish them. They used to have some very friendly employees. They left, I guess. The current batch seem to be stressed and rude. With what they charge for groceries, you would think they would pay their employees well. Who knows? read more

I gave Trig's 5 stars for their outstanding customer service. They have a large store and are doing their best to compete with the "mart" invasion so you won't get the lowest prices here. But, go anyway. Here's why the 5 stars: Years ago my brother-in-law was very ill and since I live so far away didn't know how to "comfort" him. I called Trig's and arranged for them to deliver a cut-flower boquet every 2 weeks until I canceled. Gave them an idea of the types of flowers to include. Those flowers arrived on time religiously and the few times, in many YEARS, they weren't to my BIL's satisfaction it was corrected immediately and cheerfully. Now THAT'S customer service. Their fresh bakery goods are excellent as are their deli offerings. Obviously this company is doing something right as I have NEVER encountered a cranky employee yet. "Must love to laugh and smile" must be on their employment application. Way to go, Trigs! read more

The place is ok, while the floors seem to be unfinished, they have a lot of choices there. The prices are higher than the other stores in the area. I use to go there a lot to buy meat but their prices have gotten high so I don't go there as often anymore. Their hot food in the deli was reasonably priced at one time, but it has gotten a bit high at least for my budget so I don't buy there anymore. read more

Sometimes it's hard to find things, but they have everything. Including a decent selection of organic. Love this alternative to Walmart. We stop in middle of night when we hit town. Clean, friendly. Their store-made, ready-to-heat pizzas are good. And the Cellar is fully stocked and competitively priced. read more

The Trigs store in Rhinelander is as good as it gets for customer service. Three examples: My brother had surgery and instead of a bouquet of flowers, I decided to send him a variety of Trig's brats. The smokehouse listed all of them available, packaged them up and sent them to him. A "no hassle" but great gift for my brother. I purchased some gift cards from Trig's and one of them was not activated. I called them with the receipt and they asked me for my address. The manager said they would send a gift card and "make it right". Well, she actually drove to my house and personally handed me three gift cards and a heart felt apology. Numerous times I asked the produce person or the pasta area supervisor, for specific items that I would like to see. In each case, if it was possible to stock these items, they have called me to tell me that they are now available or sometimes that it was not possible to obtain them. Either way, they notified me. My children live in larger cities and are amazed with the small town, GREAT customer service that we get from Trig's. read more

$6.49 for a pound of Mashed Potatoes. That's right, you read that correctly. Let that sink in. Potato Wedges, yep, the same thing; and I'm not talking about a Gordon Ramsey or Robert Irvine mashed potato either. Hell, Ramsey or Irvine would only TRIPLE the food cost - which the present price of Russets is .67 cents a pound. Do the math. 1 lb of potatoes, 2 tablespoons of butter, salt & pepper......and for that Trig's is going to mark it up 1100%? Are you kidding me? I'm surprised to see this chain even still in business gouging the public like it does. Take a walk through their stores, write down the prices of the items you need, then go anywhere other than Trig's and check the prices. You'll be astonished at the difference. You can feed a family of four for a month somewhere else, or you can feed that same family for a couple of weeks shopping at Trig's. read more

My main complaint is the prices for organic and natural foods. They are way, way higher than the store I usually go to for these items, even though they probably get them for the same price or less, given the size of their operation. Example: The packaged lettuce I buy was 80% more at Trig's than at the other store. I feel exploited and ripped off there -- on these items, anyway. read more
