I've had several chains / necklaces shortened, some lengthened, and I also purchased a new leather band for my Seiko watch, which of course they attached for me. They also clean your jewelry at no extra charge, which is nice. I live in Brooklyn and usually come here first and drop off what I need to. Then, I go shopping at Trader Joe's, which is five minutes away. When finished at TJ's, I pick-up my items from Fast Fix and head home. Hiyun and Sam, the owners, are wonderful people. Yes, I know their names as I've been there many times and have had very nice conversations with them. They are very helpful, kind, friendly and are excellent at what they do. I would highly recommend visiting Fast Fix for your jewelry and watch needs. I really can't understand some of the other reviews, though everyone's individual experience is of course unique unto them. As well, some folks are just simply hard to deal with, or perhaps unreasonable, we all know people like this. I would suggest to be clear with what your needs are and what you are looking to have done, upfront. And you should ask for a price as well before any work is to be done, I always do. Or perhaps, as A.W. mentioned in their review below, folks aren't aware that this is a franchise operation and they may be leaving their review for the wrong location. I don't know, can't say. What I do know is that of my four visits here, all have been excellent. I would highly recommend, and have, Fast Fix to family and friends, and to all those reading this review. Came here yesterday to get the latch on my silver chain fixed. Not Kathe's Jewelry. I walk in there, expecting to just drop the chain off and pay some money for the repair job, but the guy working behind the counter (who I think also co-owns the place???) took my chain to the back for literally 30 seconds and then came back with it good as new and told me it was free of charge. He even gave me an old-fashioned handshake at the end like we were longtime friends. Made me feel like a special man walking out of that place. At any rate, if you live in the East Village or anywhere near it, don't go to any other store for your jewelry repair. I researched where to go to get my batteries replaced here in Bay Ridge and found nice reviews for Global. I brought two watches to start with to ensure good battery replacement. I met with Elad who quickly repaired the batteries at reasonable cost. Additionally, I returned to sell some gold pieces that didn't fit and some I just don't wear and again was given great prices for selling. Global also sells jewelry such as some Tiffany pieces and other lovely gems. It's nice to know that there is a trusted local jeweler who can assist me with repairs, selling, etc. Elad is very professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend Global Gold and Silver.
