Thiago, the hair stylist took his time with my hair and recommended I get a gloss for my grays to blend in because I don't get my hair colored. I didn't even know about gloss until Thiago recommended it to me. Then he told me that shorter hair would look better with the shape of my face instead of the layers I had. He cut and styled my hair after and oh my goodness, I don't know who was the person looking back at me in the mirror. My hair looked healthier, I looked younger and I really felt better. I purchased a Gilt City certificate for a haircut, Brazilian blowout and Blowout prior to reading any reviews. Needless to say after I came on here and started reading, I was kicking myself for not doing any research. However, I bought it and was stuck with it, so I made the appointment and steeled myself for the worse and hoped for the best. Making the appointment over the phone was pleasant. I showed up on time and had a nice reception at the desk. They asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I agreed to white wine. I did have to wait about 20 minutes but that didn't bother me (it is miami after all). They brought me more wine so we're all good. (By the way I'm terrible at names so I'm not 100% sure if I got them right) Olga came to get me and gave me a quick tour around as it was my first time there. As prepared as I was at this point for a hard sale, it didn't happen. I wouldn't say the tour was completely necessary but I didn't have any problems with it. She introduced me to Magda who was set to do my hair. We discussed what I wanted, she explained everything and off I went to shampoo. Again, no sales pressure so far. The Brazilian blowout takes a while, especially since I have a ridiculous amount of VERY long hair. As a matter of fact, I've had stylists almost make me feel guilty for these kinds of treatments with all my hair. But Magda took her time, didn't cut any corners, and was extremely friendly and conscientious that I got exactly the cut I wanted. Throughout the three hours I was there, I was offered something to drink several times, several baskets of chocolates and sweets were brought around, several times management came around to ask if I was ok or needed anything, and I was offered a glorious hand massage. I accepted it, fully expecting that this would be added to my bill after what I've read here. That was not the case. At the end, I ended up asking about products because I was legitimately interested in purchasing (I had 10% off products with this certificate) but up to that point, no one tried to sell me anything. Magda explained the products she was recommending and took several minutes explaining how to care for my blowout. Even told me to call her personally if I had any questions. I did not encounter anything out of the ordinary nor anything close to what some of these reviews said. I do not doubt many of the reviews are legit, however, I am guessing that they have taken notice and have made concerted efforts to make changes. I was pleasantly surprised, actually very happy with everything, and will be back. I'm glad they've taken notice of the reviews and taken the necessary steps to correct them. Looked up the salon online and checked prices before i made my appointment. Asked for a half head of highlights and a trim. Online it says the highlights are $80 & up, and shampoo and cut is $45 & up. This place takes & up to another level. I had the Senior Stylist who was super nice and they squeezed me in which i was grateful for since my schedule is very hectic and needed my hair done desperately. However I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication as to how much everything was actually costing. She started with the consultation. I'm a performer so I'm pretty hard on my hair. She decided to trim my hair dry and then continue with highlights, however I was charged for a full haircut. She did the half head of highlights and told me she would put a toner on. The majority of the highlights were done by her assistant not by the senior stylist which I'm sure they charged me for her. Then when they were done processing the assistant took me to wash it out and put the toner on. While i thought there was a couple steps to this toner, they must have been adding very expensive products on top of the toner because i sat with 2 or 3 different processes at the sink. As soon as i was done i said i didn't need a blow dry and they tried to sell me a product to help my hair from being damaged. The product was $31. I went to the register thinking it would be around a $200 job and she gave me a receipt for $406 and i gasped. That was not including tip. I had to tip both stylists on top of that and i decided not to get the product. I was shocked and could not believe that their website would advertise a reasonable price for a service and then be surprised when i get up to the register. She also asked me if i got paid well while she was doing my hair and i said "for a singer yes". While she made me feel comfortable enough to answer the question i didn't think she would take advantage of my answer. Whether that's why she did it or not, who knows bu $429 is NOT okay when your website advertises normal pricing. My hair looks great, so if you're willing to pay $429&up this is the place for you. If not, DO NOT FALL FOR IT. read more

Conveniently located in the neighborhood area, Trini Salon offers a very exclusive experience in any of the services that they provide. In this particular review I would like to share my experience with a facial that I got at the place. I'm always in the run, either due to work (and traveling), home or the common never-ending-social activities we have in Miami. My face looked bulled, tired, dry in some areas, greasy in others, in my opinion a completely mess. After several auto-treatments, finally I decided that I needed a facial, When I walked into Trini the first time, everyone got a minute to make sure I was fine (other customers described the details that they offer); that did not impress me, but make me feel comfortable. My therapist, Virginia, spent several minutes before the procedure with me asking the reasons I decided to have a facial, my kind of life, if I was taking any prescription and those kind of questions that you get from your dermatologist, but in this case I was at the spa, with a full-prepared professional! She will look at all aspect of your skin and apply the treatments that will help to improve its uniformity, texture and appearance. Either you are looking for an immediate glowing face (for a night out ) or a long-term healthy and beautiful skin-face. get a facial with Virginia @ Trini. You will not regret it and your skin will love it! Some tips: (i) reserve 1 to 1.30hrs, Virginia does not work to get rid of you asap but to make the best for your face; (ii) follow up your appointments if you want to keep the great look long-term; (iii) listen to her recommendations; she is not going to push you to buy products or do something but quiet honestly, I was using for my face very expensive products that were not helping at all, she suggested a change after they were finished (which I did not wait for) and introduced me to new products (cheaper), which I have and work better for my skin... So don't wait...make your appointment...and enjoy your new A-List Face! read more

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS SALON! THIS SALON WILL ROB YOU BLIND! Let me explain. . . 0 STARS! (It would not give me the option to select 0 stars). Originally, I was given a price for a facial, and was charged DOUBLE! I spoke to an employee on the phone and was given THE price for a facial. During the facial, they plastered my face with products, and also started giving me a MASSAGE - as if all of this was INCLUDED without discussing ANY EXTRA CHARGES WHATSOEVER! When the facial was completed, the women prepared a bag full of products that I DID NOT REQUEST and then attempted to sweet talk me and later, demanded that I pay for the products that I had NO IDEA i was paying for. I am a young college student & this was my first facial. It was for a special occasion. To top it all off, they hand you a WHITE ROSE as if that will seal the deal. If you are not happy with the service/product from TRINI, be certain to NOT hand over your credit/debit card and DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!!!! When I got home, I opened the bag to file my receipt and saw that they charged me DOUBLE! At this point, I called the salon to explain my situation and was rudely dismissed. I was not going to give up because the charges were exorbitant! So, I returned to the salon and tried my best to resolve this issue. Because there were customers nearby, the employee (I will not mention any names, yet) said, "OK....OK....JUST LEAVE....BYE!" with a sarcastic snotty attitude, and waved his hand several times motioning me to LEAVE. I hope this is read, especially by young college students that do not have experience at being robbed for services in a high-end service provider. Miami is known for high prices, but at least you should get what you paid for. I plan to comment on YELP every single day until I get my refund. I cannot explain how much I love Trini Salon & Spa! This was for sure the best experience I have ever had and now Trini IS MY SECRET (I know that's super nerdy but I don't care)!!! The people there are so nice and welcoming and the salon is absolutely gorgeous! I had to wait 5mns and during that time they offered me something to drink! Such great service! Since this was my first time there, they gave me a tour of the salon and made me feel like I was VIP! I first got a massage done by Anna and wow she really knows what she is doing! Then I had Martha do a color and a blow-dry. Martha is such a sweet little thing! It's really true when people say that stylists are the new bartenders! We talked for what seemed like hours which made the experience that much better!! She was so nice and made me look fabulous. I swear I came in looking like I haven't showered in years and came out looking flawless! Oh and I can't forget my mani pedi!!! Jenny did my nails and they came out looking really great! This was such a great experience and I can't wait to tell all of my friends. Before leaving I made another appointment to do my eyelashes and get a facial! I cannot wait!!!!!!! Highly recommend this place... you don't know what you are missing if you decide not to go there. The best part is that it's super kid-friendly! I didn't want to bring my two year old with me because most places give you so much attitude but i saw a mom with her kid getting her hair done and everyone was so happy to see a kid. Ahh Trini Salon...Picture it..You walk in and the facilities are uber clean and welcoming. The staff welcomes you with a smile and you are ushered in feeling like a princess, even before you sit upon your hairdressing throne. I followed my former stylist Rocio to this salon after she worked miracles on my hair at her prior salon. You know what they say: Good stylists are hard to come by and I would follow her anywhere (I had botched my own hair and had orange roots and bleach blonde and in one visit I was miraculously back to normal! But I digress. Rocio gave me an extensive tour of the facilities and all of the products and services that were offered. Trini is an all inclusive hair/nail and spa salon, with services ranging from nail shellac to facials to everything under the sun. I received a complimentary hand massage while sipping on an espresso as I was getting my hair done. I came in for a root touch up cut and dry. Rocio is nothing short of exemplary in color application. She is very professional and truly listens to what you want done with your hair and runs with it! I walked out feeling like a million dollars. Another wonderful thing about this salon is that they offer many promotions: first time cients receive 25% off their next visit, a free deep conditioning treatment or eyebrow wax. I went in to Trini and was amazed at how nice it looked. The people were so nice to me offering me something to drink, giving me a tour, making me feel relaxed and before I knew it, I met the person I have been waiting for my whole life: Martha! She is now my one and only hair stylist. I can never change her for someone else. I got a Brazilian Blowout and could not be happier with the results. I know that I am never ever going anywhere else but Trini's! Martha was great, the whole place was elegant yet fun and engaging. The staff treats you like royalty and they really work some magic on my hair. I look fabulous and all my friends asked where I went. From the first moment you step in you feel in paradise every one is friendly and professional, they offer you something to drink, chocolates and give you a white rose. They always do everything to make you feel like a queen. When ever i get my mani/ pedis with Teresa and Ari i feel awesome wether it is shellac or regular my nails always look awesome. i went to Trini on Brickell Avenue this Sunday. My stylist, Rachel, was ready for me when I walked in so I did not have to wait. I had spoken with Suzie when making the appointment and requested a stylist that was good for my type of hair. I was offered a tour and a beverage upon arrival.Rachel asked me a few questions and gave me a few suggestions based on my answers. She gave me a terrific precision cut and blow dry. She did offer some pre treatment solutions for my problematic hair. I loved the pre treatment gloss which should last several weeks.I did buy a few after treatment products as well. I am not a big "product" user however,these products seem to do a lot for correcting the problems that I have such as dullness and thin hair.My experience at Trini was great. I've been a customer of Trini for two years. Each visit is a great experience! It's the staff, particularly Marie, that keep me coming back. I have had a variety of styles, cuts and colors, by Marie over the last two years and have not been disappointed. All styles maintain my professional persona. Her cuts allow me to "wash and go" with little effort in the mornings. Marie is well experienced, professional, and respects her work. In addition to hair, I have had positive experiences with facials and nails at Trini. Sara and Ana have introduced me to Shelaque. They do a real good job and it lasts for about 12 days. I had a bad hair incident [elsewhere] and Trini accommodated me quickly for an appointment the following morning to do damage control. The whole staff was extremely friendly, and my stylist, Dagoo, was an angel. He listened to what I wanted/what I didn't like about the current status of my hair. He reassured me as the process went on and I felt very relaxed while in the salon. I even received a complimentary hand massage from the aesthetician as I waited for my color to process. The final result was amazing - I could almost cry from the transformation. I went back a couple days later just for a tiny fix and they accommodated me in the same manner. Wow, I'm afraid to leave a review as I don't want him getting over booked and not having time for me. But it would be selfish not to. I'm new from NY and had the most difficult time finding upscale, tasteful salon, specifically hair stylist who can do it all. I love to stay loyal to one person. I came here from getting my virgin hair completely botched at a salon that was supposedly top tier here but I won't knock them. All I can say is that Elsner from Trini saved me. By far the rudest place I've ever walked into.. no customer service , no respect for the client... And besides the fact that you are about to pay them an arm and a leg for getting your hair done with them, they totally trash you. My stylist, don't even remember her name, asks me: do you have any challenges with your hair? I say: No She replied with all the attitude in the world: No challenges?? So you're telling me your hair is perfect?!!! Are you kidding me? I LOVE this place! After 10 years of getting my hair done by the same guy, I finally got the courage to try someone new. My stylist Marie is amazing. My color and cut are always exactly what I ask her to do (which is hard because I'm horrible at explaining things). I get compliments on my hair on a regular basis. Besides the hair, I also just love going to Trini in general. Everyone there is always welcoming and they serve wine while your color is processing. It's also in walking distance from everywhere in Brickell. This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! Let me tell you they charged me $800 for my hair, which by the way they completely ruined. My hair looked terrible and felt like straw. The highlights were placed in terrible places and supposedly their best hair stylist did my hair. I was mortified by the way I looked and thought my hair was going to fall out! I demanded a refund and they wouldn't give it to me. I went to IGK and they fixed my hair and couldn't believe how terrible of a job they did. No one should ever have to pay $800 for hair ESPECIALLY terrible hair which I had to end up paying $400 just to fix. NEVER COME HERE!!! read more

I have been getting my hair cut with Marie for about a year. In that time, I have changed hairstyle three times and have loved every one of them. Marie is professional and efficient - I would much rather pay a little more to be out in half the time. And her assistants are just as efficient and friendly. Yes, Trini isn't cheap. But, it is in the middle of Brickell and the service you get is fantastic. And as others have said, for you first appointment, you get a tour. I have stopped coloring my hair 3 years ago as I was never satisfied. Nataly did my hair and I am absolutely delighted about the result (high light & balayage). She totally understood what I wanted, something natural, low maintenance, classy I will say lol She offered me to book an appointment in few months, as I previously explained her I wanted something "low maintenance". I am new to Trini Salon & Spa in Sunny Isles and I had the pleasure and luck to meet Antonelle (spell check). She is extremely accommodating and wants you to have the salon experience (21 years experience and owning her own salon in Paris, she knows what she is doing), but being a guy, I just wanted to get in and out. So, for you males who want a quick, detailed and efficient haircut, ask for her. Trini is very expensive for the service they provide, and do not accomplish anything to be renowned for. The only services this salon provides you with are the expense of going to another salon to have your hair fixed to an decent level of going out in public!!!!!!! Ivonne was the stylists name, but I don't think any of the stylists could be recommended for a worthy accomplishment. I would not recommend this salon to anyone in the community or the country. The entire staff are cunning and unprofessional. A very sad and deceiving salon. read more
