    Steak on a Stone
    Stephanie S.

We came here on our last night in town and it was probably one of the best dinners we had while in Dublin. I would highly recommend coming here early in your visit because chances are you will want to come again. Between the 4 of us we split nachos and fried cheese for apps, then had two Steak on the Stones, Chicken Fajitas, and the Tagliatelle Pasta. Everything was delicious and the steak was definitely a new experience for us - I'm glad they warned us prior to them being served because I would have been shocked. The steaks come out with the slightest sear on them and otherwise complete raw. You use the hot stone provided to cook the steak to your liking at the table. This was hands-down the best steak I had all week. The fried cheese was also amazing!

Look for the Dublin Harps surrounding the entrance!

We visited this restaurant last time we toured Ireland. Came back again just because the atmosphere is perfect. The tall, beefy, doorman is delightful! The Fish & Chips is good. Guinness is better! Going to go back for Bangers & Mash! (12-26-21)

Had a layover long layover in over summer in Dublin. Ended up in this pub. Ordered a burger. By far the best burger i've had in my entire life, being from the states. They put Applewood smoked cheese on the burger. It really stands out. I had a layover back to the States in October and made sure to come back. I raved about the burger so much that my mother in law ordered the Applewood smoked cheese for me as a Christmas gift. Will definitely have to be back. Guinness was also fantastic on tap. Tasted like a beer root beer float. So smooth and creamy. Loved it. Service was great

The BEST pub in Dublin. Staff is amazing. Food is delicious. Service is quick, and the drinks are *chef's kiss*. Lots of TVs for games, and always has live music. If you're a Spurs fan, the Dublin Spurs watch all games here. A must visit while in Dublin. Get the wings and a pint of Guinness!

Not a bad bar around the Temple Bar area of town if you're looking for somewhere to watch the football but probably not somewhere you'd want to head out on a first date to or to enjoy a romantic night out. Multi-screened up and downstairs meaning they were showing all the Champions League games on when we visited, it's quite an expansive and cavernous place meaning you're probably likely to get a seat any time you visit. The beer selection was pretty poor (just averagy lager etc) but it's always a good opportunity to enjoy a few pints of Guinness when in town if nothing else is worth drinking. Serves a purpose and as sports bars go it's better than a lot of the random places I've been around the world and nipped into to catch the match.

The burger is below average and service was disappointing.. It was hard to get anyones attention and they could care less to wait on you. We won't be coming back.

Tourist from the States visiting Dublin. On our walk around Dublin, we came upon this pub and stopped in for dinner around 5 pm. We were greeted immediately and a gentleman took our drink order. Bring a tourist, we did all the typical ordering...Guinness, Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, followed by several more Guinness. We also ordered dessert ( Irish Coffee and Eton Mess.... which was berries, meringue and vanilla ice cream). Food was delicious, big servings, wait staff was very friendly. There are lots of TVs to watch sports. Great atmosphere and very easy for a tourist like me. Very reasonably priced meals too. Our total bill was under 55 euros (not including tip).

This is a great pub for the person looking for a good "Irish" experience without going to a typical tourist pub. The food is great, not typical pub food. There are traditional items on the menu. The Brown bread with Guinness is awesome! If it's a sporting event they have numerous screens and an entire pub downstairs for viewing. On Tuesday and Wednesday they have live Irish music and Irish dancing. It's a great night. Guinness on tap and beers that belong in a tankard are served in a tankard. It's very nice, this is not a hipster pub, so don't look to children for reviews.

Dublin's Beat Bangers & Mash - pretty good with some Irish beer and reasonably priced (11.5 euro)

good place to watch sports in Dublin - caught some American (NFL) football while traveling for work and was able to get decent Irish food. Kindy of loud, but that's what I expected in a sports bar. One knock is they allow smoking inside (as do most European places), otherwise an overall good experience with decent service and a good beer selection.

This is a typical Irish pub serving standard pub fair and full bar with large TV's for the games. It is two levels and the seating is cramped creating a loud space difficult for conversation. I had the Fish and chips 4 Stars and my wife had the wings 4 Stars. If you like loud and lively you will love this pub.

This is a great pub to watch a match in. There are plenty of TVs everywhere and there are a few places where it's comfortable enough to stand. The staff are really sound and efficient and constantly running. There are a few pillars in the way of the big screen upstairs but you can work around that. The screens downstairs are super HD! The upstairs bar does tend to run out of drinks and not be able to refill them during the match but if you're really craving it, sure you can pop downstairs. Great atmosphere during the match.

I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, because you can depend on them to have any game on,…read moreand they have a great beer selection, but due to the arrogance of the bouncers I likely won't be back. I had a reservation for a game and was given a booth. My boyfriend arrived a few minutes, and he should have been able to get in with no problem since we had a reservation, but the bouncer refused to let a single person in due to full capacity. I had an empty seat open in front of me and already ordered our food for the game, so I told this to the bouncer. However, he avoided eye contact as he told me to find a manager. The manager, in fairness, was very nice and he told the bouncer to finally let my boyfriend in. This whole ordeal unfortunately took a half hour, and our food got cold.

Now the bar is understaffed, they don't have the same selection of drinks, and the food has become inedible. Tried two dishes and both arrived cold. The sauces are tasteless and you can tell they are trying to pinch every penny out of the place. The new owners have taken what was Dublin's best sports bar and turned it into a place to avoid. If you like hot wings and good service, sadly, you'll have to go somewhere else.

What a fun sports bar for a night out in Dublin…read more My girlfriend and I googled for a bar that may have the Eagles game on, and word was Sinnotts was one of the bars in the area that frequently puts Eagles games on or whatever the most asked for game is by most patrons at the time. My girlfriend and I were off both geared up in our Eagles jerseys and myself sporting an Eagles hat as well. We were determined to make our presence known and really hope they would put it on the big screen for us if we showed the proper amount of enthusiasm and zeal. Luckly, it worked and another couple came in right after us decked out in eagles gear as well, score, we now had a rooting section as soon as you entered the establishment. They had a great 2 for 1 margarita deal and they were quite good. The food was nothing to sneeze at either, the Irish Stew was probably my favorite of the whole trip, and my only gripe is I wish the portion size was a little larger. I tasted my gf's dish which was the braised beef, and it was a heaping portion size and good, not the best in all of our trip but still very good. This was one of our first few nights in Dublin before meeting up with our tour group for a drive over parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland and I am very glad we chose here as one of the bars. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to make a night out of it watching a sports game, grabbing some food, and if you're in the mood to indulge in a few cocktails, well you will definitely have a wide array of spirits and beer to choose from. As always people SYOY!!!

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.
