Their middle school program offers small class sizes, field trips, sports, electives, and much more. My daughter made lots of friends and loved most of the teachers. She got good grades all throughout her middle school years and earned academic honor roll and other achievements both academically and for sports. During her 8th grade year, her class did a very memorable missions trip and went to DC. She told me that it will be a year she will never forget. The staff was great and very supportive. Mrs. E did a wonderful job in her new role as the principal. Coach Phil is a special person who was always available to the students when they need someone to talk to. He was a great coach, pe teacher, and yearbook teacher. My daughter loved coach Phil and I am so grateful for him. Mr. Shook was another favorite. He taught science and history. My daughter enjoyed him because he would always crack jokes and make everyone laugh. Mr.Shook was a great teacher, however, sometimes, I think he should keep his political opinions to himself. That was the only thing that kind of made me uncomfortable. The other thing relating to staff was the staff turnover. My daughter had a different English and math teacher every year. Which was annoying because she would build a strong relationship with them, then they left and she would have to rebuild. I understand that isn't the schools fault. But it did interfere with math and her math grade. Overall, my daughter and our family loved Valor! We highly recommend this school if you are looking for a small close-knit Christian school community. We felt safe sending her which was a big deal considering the unfortunate times that we live in. Thank you Valor for all the wonderful memories and for providing my daughter with a great Christian middle school experience. Please let me know asap when there is a Valor High! :)

We couldn't be more happy with this school and the biblical foundation it offers especially from what is being experienced from public school. We are so thankful we have found valor and it has been such a blessing to us. How prayerful and considerate this team is in finding solutions and going above and beyond and taking a biblical approach is rare. Our child has superseded his academics which has truly been amazing to see him grow. We look forward to growing with this school.

If I could I would also give this school a zero. First of all this place is a horrible environment…read more Some of the kids are out of control, don't know how to behave, and are terrible influences. Do you know why?: It's because countless parents who have bad children send their kids here thinking it will change them because its a religious school, NEWSFLASH it doesn't, their kids are the ones to change students for the worse. A few of the teachers are also horrible. There is this one particular teacher, I shan't say her name but is a horrible teacher. She complains of having migraines everyday and takes her frustration out on the kids despite being a teacher. She has blatant favoritism and ignores the ones causing trouble and puts the blame on the ones doing nothing. Multiple parents have complained about her and nothing has been done to remove her. Another horrible teacher here teaches TK/Kinder. She yells at your kids, pitches them, and belittles them. She only cares about the cheerleaders which she doesn't even take care of. When you see how she treats those little kids you will be disgusted. She throws little kids food away if they don't eat fast enough for her, a little reminder, these kids are 5-6 years old. Once I heard her bad mouthing kids because their parents forgot to pay for their midterm fee. If YOU DON'T LIKE KIDS WHY ARE YOU TEACHING THEM!!!! This brings me to the next topic:the principal. This principal has got to be one of the most mean spirited women I've met. She only cares about money, not the kids. Also the tuition is not that bad, what's bad is the fact you're charged for everything, and I mean everything. Didn't do the raffle you pay, didn't volunteer pay. They make you pay for everything that's not your fault. They DO NOT value education enough. Why are these kids worrying about art and PTO snacks when they should be thinking about their work. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with thinking about other things as a kid but why am I hearing these kids talk about having enough money for snack sales and then having bad grades, it's ridiculous. They barely challenge these kids. When I talk to other parents that take their kids to other Catholic schools I always hear about these good programs the school has:Scholarships, Clubs, Sports, Internships, this school barely has either. When I pulled my kid out I was surprised to see how behind she was compared to other kids from different schools. Their so called social studies is nonsense! My child in the 3rd grade, when I asked her simple things about social studies she didn't even know! I asked her if it was in her book and she said it wasn't?! In all seriousness don't send your kids here if you prioritize their education and your well-being. Send them to schools in Torrance or Redondo, not here.

Finally--a real biblical church that doesn't shut down or back down: CHRISTIAN WARRIORS, rise up at…read moreRestoration Life Christian Church! In this messed-up world getting darker every day, without Christians shining as the light, nobody sees real hope or truth. Jesus said it straight: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden... let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16). We're called to be salt and light--not sitting quiet, but bold. Christianity ain't just some peaceful religion; we serve a God who's a warrior for justice. "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name" (Exodus 15:3). We fight spiritual battles, not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), and we're geared up to stand firm. Life is sacred from the jump--pro-life is straight Bible. God forms us in the womb: "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb... Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me" (Psalm 139:13-16). He hates innocent blood shed (Proverbs 6:16-17), and tells us to rescue those headed to death (Proverbs 24:11-12). Restoration Life Christian Church is a blazing light right here in Los Angeles--modern Sodom--refusing to bow to the darkness. Shoutout to the warriors there proclaiming truth unashamed! Who's standing with them? #ChristianWarriors #ProLife #BiblicalTruth

Beautiful interior, friendly priests and parishioners, and just an overall welcoming atmosphere that made the visit absolutely amazing. To put it simply, it gave me a very peaceful feeling all throughout the service, which I have to admit is kind of rare in my experience. The acoustics were thoughtfully placed in just the right places making the sermon and music pleasant to the ears for everyone in attendance; whether you sat up front or all the way in the back, the words were clear. I would definitely come back again if we were back in the area.

When churches were open before Covid I especially liked to attend the PM mass on Tuesdays. Always a good number of parishioners attending but never crowded then. From my very first visit I felt an overall warmth from their friendly and varied community. The Church has masses in English, Spanish, & Vietnamese. On Sundays and special occasions you will also be impressed with their heartfelt musical worship. The priests and church helpers are always happy to help you with questions or requests. Saturday is the usual day for confession- however you may ask for a meeting by appointment at other times. Check out their website and weekly bulletin. You can also call the Church office and leave a message in the general mailbox and someone will contact you. If you can leave a donation please do, as it will be much appreciated by this humble place of worship.

Al hamdulilah for Al huda Islamic school…read more I am concerned that Arabic is not being taught verbally or spoken to the children at my son's school, even though they are fluent in Arabic. It is important to teach our children our Islamic faith and encourage them to speak Arabic, regardless of race or ethnicity. Speaking English to them only enables them to continue to speak English, which could lead to them being unable to read the Quran or Arabic as they get older. We need to devote more time to specifically speaking Arabic and not giving in to the English language. Children are young and can learn any language if it is enforced as the primary language.
