Thus is the hospital I use for all my heart issues and sicknesses, with that being said, I also want to add I have never have had problems myself. NOW, I would absolutely hate to be someone walking into the ER with ANY issue (I've always ended up going by ambulance rig for ER visits) that should have prompt attention. Tonight I witnessed first hand how an ER can be run so piss poorly, that I would choose to drive 30 miles to a podunk hospital than ho to Trinity Rock Island as a walk in patient. A 40 year old male presenting with left side abdominal pains just below the ribcage, low grade fever, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, panic attacks, loss of appetite, vomiting blood, chest tightness, b/p of 158/98 at 180 lbs pulse of 100bpm, and fainting spells sits for 30 minutes when there are only 4 others waiting and an empty parking lot showing that there is no way that in an ER with atleast 20 bed could be full. The receptionist, who is lucky I missed her name tag or I'd call and raise hell tomorrow with their HR, was rude as hell. When taken in for triage to find out the chief complaints of the patient (I went in as a witness), patient was handed a specimen cup and told that if he was able to fill it once he was sent BACK to the waiting room, that would help speed up his waiting time, he filled it after another 10 minutes in the waiting room and passed it to the desk woman. After another 45 minutes he was called back for blood draws. Sent back out to wait again, and an hour later he decided to go to a smaller hospital half an hour away the following day, and just be in pain that night. He was wrong for leaving, but when you feel like absolute crap, you're in pain, haven't been able to eat, or sleep well, for 2-3 months, explain it to someone and get nothing in return, your anger can take over and you do counterproductive things. I'd rather be beaten half to death with a bag full of rocks than have to walk into that ER. Ambulance rides rule there. read more

ICU nurses are great and do a great job working with the patient and the patient advocate. Floor nurses are another story. They do not know how to handle a hospice patient care at all. My mom was put in hospice care and the doctors in ICU stated she would be sedated and feel no pain. That was true in the ICU. While we tried to find a location for external hospice, the hospital moved her to a regular floor. As time went on, we found that the floor nurses did not provide the same level of care which was expected; however, the floor nurses expected her to be asking for meds instead of them just giving her meds on a timed basis. So we went from full sedation in the ICU to being in pain while the floor nurses waited for her to moan or move indicating that they needed to medicate her. One her last day before she left for at home hospice care, the nurse only gave her meds before the ambulance came to take her home at 3pm. The night nurse gave her meds at 6am. Nine hours between meds for someone on hospice! We were livid! I called the nurse incompetent as well as her charge nurse. I asked them if that is how they would treat their own family member, and they lowered their head in shame. Unacceptable! We called the hospital patient advocate each of the three days of her stay in the main floors to complain. Nothing was done. I called on her last day to offer to talk with the head doctor, the head nurse and the hospice are supervisor to discuss the issues and never received a call back. Do not leave your family there alone on the main floor if you have needs for medicine or unfortunately a family member on hospice waiting to be transferred out. read more

The Hospitalist that I had was very good and compassionate. The nursing staff on the 4th floor were top shelf. The teams that did my endoscopy and colonoscopy were stellar and personable. I was just discharged today and am very glad that I got this group of providers. read more

Great experience in ER from walking in to walking out. I brought my dad to ER for heart issues and my mom with dementia was with us. At check in, the sweetest lady was helping us, her name was something like Shaerrie ( sorry I don't remember exactly). My dad didn't have his hearing aids and mom thought she was getting admitted, and Shaerrie was right there with me and said" you got your your hands full". She made my day. Thanks so much to her!! Triage nurses were fantastic and when we got to a room Dr Briggs, nurse Jael and Ed the tech were so great. This was the first time that being in the ER didn't seem like an eternity even though we were there for 5 hours. Everyone deserves a big pat on the back, or a raise!! read more

Sitting in waiting room at emergency four hrs on end trying to get in and wait. This is so ridiculous but the hospital will charge you as much as they can even if you have been seen for that duration of time. This hospital could use a use head of hospital the get this place back in order read more

I came to this hospital at 3:30PM in the after noon it is currently 8:20 and I still have not been seen this hospital I feel is scamming the insurances companies because they came and took my blood as soon as I got here so I wouldn't or couldn't leave I feel like this is unfair and unethical there was people leaving even after they took the blood so they didn't Perform any services but they are going to charge for taking blood it is now 8:30 and I still have not been seen I don't care how sick I am I will never come to this hospital again read more

I'm from California and was in Rock island ill I had an emergency so I went to Trinity hospital they got me and took care of me as if I was the president they were right on it this hospital is treated me with respect and they got down to business on treating me .this is a perfect example how a hospital should be ran and making patients feel so important. The service s phenomenal but the patient food from the cafe is hard to describe. Ground up, dry, flavorless, and nasty looking. I do not recommend ordering the puréed orange lasagna. read more

I visited Trinity Bettendorff EMERGENCY ROOM on 10-7-22. I arrived with my son; he was/is having a hard time BREATHING! Our arrival time was 8:20 Ish. We sat in this EMERGENCY ROOM waiting for bloodwork and an x-ray for FIVE hours! There was very little movement as far as patients going back. I'm told there was a couple ambulances that came in not to long before we got there so we WAIT! I was getting irritated waiting and not seeing any movement in this line for the longest time. I was however TRYING to be patient. I watched at least 3/4 different people walk out at this point because of the long wait! It finally comes to about 12:45 and I'm asking the receptionist if there was ANY way possible to have someone go on ahead and do the bloodwork that they said they were going to do as well as the x-ray and just send us back out to wait for a bit for results and a room, thinking that by the time the results come back there should be somewhere for us to go! NOPE! This receptionist comes out and tells us that there's only TWO...TWO nurses on the floor and they don't have the manpower to get this request done. I waisted my gas I wasted my time as well as my energy coming to this hospital. At any given moment they could have let us know that they were short on staff so that maybe JUST MAYBE we could have gone somewhere else that had ADDIQUITE staffing for an EMERGENCY room! Very unsatisfied with this level of care. I'm still needing to get my son seen by SOMEONE, but for tonight he tries to sleep while not being able to completely being able to catch his breath! My sister had to go last night because of Covid issues. They sent her home same night and now next night needs to go back because of same issues. This time she is refusing to go back because they were so mean to her. She's already down because of being sick and now she has to figure someplace else to go because of the rudeness. Pretty awful! I have I had the option, I would give TMC 10* because they saved my father's life! The fact that it is not a massive medical campus like others in the region is actually a positive because you feel like you receive more personal care! The unsung heroes of this place are the nurses and staff. They were quick to respond to any of my father's needs with a smile and they were constantly checking to see if there was anything additional that they could do for him! My son went to the ER by ambulance last night at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island with chest pains. He called me this morning to let me know how he was treated. I could not believe my ears! They run the normal cardiac test on him and everything came back negative but he was still in pain. (His grandpa had a history of negative cardiac tests and ended up having four stents placed.) He asked the nurse what they would do for his pain and she told him they were discharging him. He told her he did not want to be discharged that he wanted to find out what was wrong because he was hurting so bad. She told him again he was being discharged and in the course of their conversation, she laughed at him. He of course lost his temper and wanted to know if they treated all of the veterans in this way. I am sure he was not nice about what he said, but that still did not give her the right to treat him like she did. She called the security guards and had him excorted from the hospital. That red-headed nurse needs to be fired! What kind of hospital is this? read more

I have spent many nights in many hospitals (including those connected with Mayo Clinic) watching over various family members post-surgery and I have never seen such amazing, kind, and helpful nurses. They respond quickly to the call button, and have gone above any expectations for having any of my needs as a family member met. I give one hundred stars to the nurses on the sixth floor in the adult wing. read more

If I could give Trinity a lower rating than 1 star I would. Took my elderly father there for congestive heart failure. On the 3rd day, he was chocking on phlegm in his mouth and we couldn't get him to spit it out. Since the nurses desk was right outside his door, I went out and up to the only nurse sitting there. Asked her for help since my father was choking on his own phlegm. She looked at me and said I'm off duty and I really have to finish my notes. I went back in and finally got the phlegm out of his mouth to stop his choking. For the remainder of my father's stay, we stayed at his bedside 24 hours a day - never trusted the nursing staff again. We did report the nurse to her supervisor on the 7th floor. Our family would never use Trinity again for any reason. read more
