I went in to get an acrylic overlay on my natural nails 1 week ago. Upon sitting at the station I…read morewas assigned to, I noticed all of the nail dust accumulated on the desk. I decided to go through with my service because I didnt have time to go somewhere else. When my nail tech started my service, she prepped my nail and did not remove the dust before applying primer. This can cause lifting. After laying my acrylic down and filing, she began to bring out her top coat. As she opened the bottle, I asked if I can wash my hands because there was no attempt made at removing all the dust caused from filing. I was told no, I can do it after. I asked 1 more time explaining that I did not want a bumby/grit texture cause from adding a top coat without removing the dust. She still told me that I could not wash my hands. After the service I went to wash my hands and there were a few nails that did have a grit texture to the top coat. 1 week later and my nails are lifting. I felt this tech was extremely unprofessional. Not allowing me to do the most basic request is uncalled for. She wastrying to cut corners to speed up my service. This is the biggest sigh of disappointment. Let me start off by saying that this salon started off…read moregreat the first 2 times. This 3rd time around I planned to get a gel fill and gel pedicure with acrylic (to shape my toe nail beds) While the lady was starting on my pedicure, she stated the total would be $81 for everything. I agreed and she continued with my feet. Then, we moved on to my gel fill and at the end she wrote $121 on the receipt. I was a literally confused on the total and I asked her " Wait, I believe the total was $81" and she said " No it's $50 for acrylic powder and $31 for gel pedicure" and I was baffled. Then I said " well I've never spent that much on a pedicure and you stated $81 in the beginning" That means each toe was $5 = $50 for 10 toes to use acrylic powder on it. I have been to many salons in Los Angeles region, including Beverly Hills and I have never had a salon charge $81 for the most basic pedicure. The most I've spent along with acrylic was $60. But they were charging $81!! Not including tip. As a marketing professional that price is wayyyyy over price and they need to be a little transparent and have the management be transparent with its customers. I can see it being a huge problem in the future overcharging for some acrylic powder. Suggestion: maybe drop down the price for acrylic powder for pedicures to $2/toe. I can see that being a viable option. So that means the total for gel pedicure w acrylic powder = $51 not including tip. But anyways they did a great job but I disliked how they handled the situation especially being a new salon. I'm hesitant to return back here unless they become more transparent with pricing and list it on their menu about acrylic powder addition pricing . ALSO, my receipt said NT nails meaning this salon must be a sister salon to the NT nail salons around town apparently. Not the biggest fan of those salons either based on previous experiences there. Please reach out so I can somehow be compensated or refunded partially based on the original agreed amount of $81. (Refund amount = $40)
