We did a bit of a search online, and it seemed he likely had a torn/detached retina. The Mayo Clinic website said it was an emergency and needed to be treated asap. Therefore, my husband called the large Littleton eye practice we'd been using the last 4 years. It was ~7:00 pm. The answering service told him the docs there work m-f from 8-5 - call back Monday morning. Husband told her he thinks he has a detached retina, that it's an emergency, don't they have any provision to see an established patient experiencing an emergency, and she repeated, "call back Monday morning." Meanwhile, I was searching "emergency eye care" online, and Eye Consultants of Colorado in Conifer (15 minutes from our home) was the first result. With very low hopes that he'd get an answer different from the last, I passed the phone number to my husband. Dr. Scott Morris answered the phone (@7:15 pm Friday evening). He listened to my husband's description of what was happening with his eye, and asked him to meet at his office in 30 minutes! Dr. Morris opened his office for Richard, did a thorough exam and confirmed that he did have a detached retina that needed attention asap. He connected Richard with a great retina surgeon/specialist who saw him the next morning, did all the preop tests and performed the surgery Monday morning. Richard's eye is healing really well, and we cannot thank Dr. Morris enough for how well he handled this emergency. I can't imagine Richard would have had the surgery as quickly as he did without Dr. Morris' help. It's been 3 weeks now, and we are (obviously) former patients of the large Littleton eye practice (who did call back the following Tuesday!), and happy to be new patients of Dr. Morris. My husband was examined and fitted for new glasses (since surgery changed his vision Rx). He reports it was an excellent experience. Everyone working with Dr. Morris has been caring, helpful and very professional. We've told all our friends and neighbors about Dr. Morris' practice. Aside from saving us a lot of extra driving time/miles, he definitely feels extremely well cared for and confident we now have the very best eye doctor! Highly recommend!

They always provide us samples and lots of advice and they have never pressured us to buy anything there. When I asked about a service this practice offers, something another physician had mentioned that I knew nothing about, Dr. Lee told me I was "way out there," gestured while saying it, and said I was "putting the cart before the horse." I explained that I didn't know anything about it and was asking for that reason, which seemed to further irritate him. I was not arguing or challenging him. I was trying to understand. Instead, he became increasingly defensive and condescending. I repeatedly had to remind him that he is the provider and I am the patient, and that I rely on him to help explain my options and wouldn't know if I didn't ask. It was very strange. The interaction escalated to the point that I told him I was shocked by how I was being treated. He agreed the conversation had become confrontational. Since my questions were still not being answered, I ended the visit on the spot and let him know I would not be continuing care with him. My eyes were dilated, and no protective shielding was offered during the exam, which felt unsafe and unprofessional. Luckily, I had my sunglasses. I love this place, except for one, big, very expensive thing that's happened with the new owners…read more The ONLY options they have for sunglasses are 1) A completely separate pair of prescription sunglasses and 2) Automatically dimming prescription glasses, which don't necessarily help in autos. The add on cost of auto-dimming lenses to prescription glasses *alone* is hundreds of dollars (more than $500), and a completely separate pair of prescription sunglasses are also hundreds of dollars. This is completely unacceptable in a state where we have such high UV risk. No clip ons, no other alternatives. I may still go here for my exam, but I'm not buying glasses here in the future. Forget it.
