My experience here was just ok. The staff are friendly but they just don't do the right thing for their customers IMO. Also, when they send out your glasses for new lenses, they will not save the old lenses. So just hope that the new ones don't give you issues because you won't be able to revert back to the original ones. There were also quality issues with the 3rd party that cut the prescription lenses, resulting in multiple delays. Maybe it's time to choose another vendor. The doctors are great - no issues there. read more

Not Family Friendly - Truly Horrible Experience! I was blindsided and unprepared for the unprofessional and aggressive approach to an issue that a staff member had with the number of *recent* reschedule requests (due to the addition of a new baby). I do not refute the subject matter, and always made each request with over 72h notice, additionally, was never given a heads-up that warranted the unleashing that occurred during my visit with my 7yr old son. If this staff member raised the discussion with kindness, integrity, compassion, and professionalism, instead of INSULT and ATTACK, the discussion might have ended differently. After several years at Foothills Vision (with no prior history of the subject matter), our family (with 3-young children), is taking our vision needs to a practice that communicates and operates with respect towards their patients and their families. read more

Mom went to Colorado Ophthalmology Assoc, Dr. Garett Frank, 11750 W 2nd Pl, Lakewood, CO 80228. Had an eye exam. Took the prescription to Foothills Vision Center, 12810 W Alameda Pkwy Unit B, Lakewood, CO 80228. They filled the prescription. Mom's disabled can't work, on disability, low income & lives paycheck-to-paycheck ($900 month). If I help her she loses benefits. The senior housing got a Grant to help pay for her glasses. Foothills had a HUGE problem filling out the other papwork. Mom picked up her glasses. She tried wearing them a few weeks, but she wasn't able to see out of them. She'd suffered multiple TBI's (from abuse), has Vertigo, sees double out of her left eye and can't look up or down without getting dizzy. Foothills told her to go back to the eye doctor & get another exam & prescription. She called up Colorado Ophthalmology Assoc & they told her she'd have to pay cash for the exam, insurance only covers one exam a year. She'd also have to pay cash for new glasses. She's already paid $400 out of pocket. A year after the visit to Colorado Opthalmology Assoc she tried to get her records transferred to another eye doctor and they refused. Wouldn't have written a review had they even acknowledged mom's letter of complaint after her visit & calls. Do you treat all people so rudely, or is it just the disabled ones? read more

I got my eyes checked here by Dr. DeMoss a few weeks ago. I recieved my prescription sunglasses and I was really able to notice a difference! They are WONDERFUL! All my questions were answered, she took her time evaluating my eyes, and was really thorough. Matt, who helped me with my glasses, was very kind and helpful. He helped me chose the best coatings and material for my sunglasses. I'm a very indecisive person, so he also helped me choose the best frame that fit my personality and my face. I had an excellent experience at Foothills Vision! All of the staff at the front desk, Rachael, Angel and Kylah, were cheerful and polite. My tech was Laura who was very friendly and did all of the screenings very efficiently, answering all my questions. Dr. K was very kind and knowledgeable. I am very comfortable having my eye health in his hands! I did not need new glasses this time, but when I did need a new prescription and frames last time I was impressed with their selection as well as with their optician, Matt, who was friendly and encouraging as he help me figure out which frames looked best. I have been to Foothills Vision twice and both experiences were excellent! There was little to no waiting, everyone was friendly and accommodating and I truly felt valued as a customer. This was in Lakewood on Alameda parkway. It's too bad but there was just one person that can ruin your day and here it was an optician helping with glasses. I had already paid, they were ready and was going in to get them. I wasn't looking my best and was tired and boy did this guy let me know. The peering over his glasses like I he couldn't believe he had to be bothered with me. I ordered three pair. Two were perfect and the other one I couldn't see out of. He kept telling me to look through them. I kept telling him that I couldn't see. "Well" he said in a pinched voice, "I can't keep sending them back". This was the first time that I had them in my hand. He was awful. They were sent back and I was disgusted with his conduct. If you decide to go in, stay clear of the guy in the glasses and I suggest you sit down with one of the women. Much nicer and won't ruin your day and treat you like you aren't worth his time. read more

Living near or around the important stuff in your life makes for such a big deal to me. Grocery store. Check. Dry cleaner. Check. Post office. Check. Hosp/ER. Check. Check. Optometrist.Check. This is a very clean, modern and easy access from both sides that matters. From 470, 70 and 6. Dr Krajewski is all business and expertise. Very polite and runs a well oiled business. He conducts his business efficiently. They carry a wide variety of cute frames and the lady that helped me decide on one deserves my admiration. She's on point and experienced. The back office is clean. The front is bright and uncluttered. FYI: if you lost your glasses don't fret. Give them a call and with the 411 they have about you; will order another pair and send them your wAy wherever you are! Isn't that awesome? If you have diabetes don't go here. They bill your medical insurance vs your vision. So medical doesn't pay for exam and ect: so you get hit with full price mine is 157 yet I'm supposed to get free yearly eye exam: they want more money so they charge medical vs vision negotiations which is much less. My husband and I have been going here for years when Dr. Nelms was there. We have VSP which has always covered part of the annual exam fee. This year, we were charged (a lot) more through our medical insurance because we both have had cataract surgery. So, here we are...senior citizens who are careful with our budget. I saw Dr Hennessy maybe four times for glaucoma pressure checks and routine eye exams. I previously had been seeing an opthalmologist for years and wanted an eye specialist who was closer to my location. The eye specialist would not release my records to Foothills Vision. Last October after glaucoma pressure checks and plugs put into my tear glands, Dr Hennessy stated that I would need to have a field vision test. I went to appointment in March, she did not do pressure checks but did put plugs into tear glands. When she did that procedure in October it was apparent that she lacked skill in doing so and totally my fault for going thru with that again in March with her. My eyes hurt for an entire week. I am very fortunate to not get an infection. Time will tell when I have that procedure again if my glands were damaged with that process from her. I have had that procedure done for years prior and it was done a matter of minutes and never ever experienced pain from it. She sent a refill for glaucoma eye drops to the pharmacy. I complained to the owner of Foothills. A week ago I received a message from the receptionist letting me know that pharmacy called for a refill request and was told that Dr Hennessy referred me to an opthalmologist for my eye care. Apparently that is the remedy to cover one's errors and inexperience. I will choose my own opthalmologist if I want one, thank you. read more

I can't say enough about the staff. I had been a patient, a long time ago, and after a bad experience at another Eye Dr., I decided to go back. The only reason I hadn't stayed there, is because I changed jobs and I live in Westminster. My mom and sister have been patients there forever, so I went back. They are just wonderful; PERIOD! My VSP insurance was funky, but they were awesome in working with me to resolve the issue. I had a scheduled "follow-up", and had missed my appointment, for personal reasons, and they were wonderful in understanding the reasons for my missed appointment. They were able to get me in right away to check the contact lens fitting, so that we could order the correct lens'; which ended up being so different than the prior Dr. But I'm so glad that Dr. K was able to explain my possible eye "problem" and not freak me out at the same time. Won't be coming back here. The staff was nice and polite but it took them almost 3 weeks to get my glasses made and on top of that they didn't call me on the day they came in. Then I needed to order safely glasses for my work and when those finally came in with my regular glasses they were supposed to have transition lenses in them but they didn't. So here comes another 2 or more weeks to wait for the safety glasses to be fixed and ready... read more

The docs that I saw were ok - not very personable; rather dry. And the interactions between the entire office staff was odd: strained, not warm. My biggest problem is that when I came in with an eye concern/problem, I felt like they were guessing. The doc dilated my eye and was gone for over an hour while I waited for an exam and answers. Then, he finally came back, spent two minutes examining me, turned around without a word and started making notes for five minutes. FINALLY, he said, "I *think* the problem is this..." Basically, not sure at all and I left without any advice, suggestions, or resolution. The prices are higher than average here, the hours are quite limited. read more

I saw DR.Hennesy at the above clinic for double vision.After an exam she prescribed glasses which had a prism in it account for my double vision. It took a while to adjust to these glasses but I took the time to do so.The only problem was if I looked dead center in the glasses the prism would work.If I looked anything but dead center my vision was highly distorted.The doctor told me i had to keep my eyes looking dead center and move my head like a robot to see up or down right or left.I am an active person with mt.biking,road biking,driving and other things. So that is not practical. I ASKED AT THIS TIME IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I COULD DO FOR THIS PROBLEM,AND THE DOCTOR SAID NO!!! I went to an opthamologist who diagnosed the problem,but could not fix it and referred me to Center for eye alignment and after an exam,they were able to tell me what to do.Basically,a short surgery which allowed my eyes to be aligned.It was simple,painless and successful.Right out of surgery my double vision was gone and it is still gone to this day. My complaint with Dr.Hennesy is either she doesn't know this exists or didn't want to lose me as a patient.Either she was not educated enough or needing money too much. My advise stay away from this clinic!! read more

Eye dr was decent enough. But the messed up more than half our eyeglass order and messed up our insurance in a way that cost us over $400 and then we're totally rude to me about their mistake. Follow up: got a call fr woman who messed up order and cost us $ and she didn't seem to care much about the situation. Then got a call from the dr and he was much more apologetic and offered to make the situation right. read more

Best vision center I've been to! Obviously this is a yearly visit so I've been going to an optometrist for 30 years. I usually change where I go every year because I don't like the place well enough to go back. That changed this year! Foothills Vision Center took the time to look up my insurance on the phone so I would know the costs before even booking an appointment. The other 4 vision centers in the area that I called before Foothills didn't do that and quoted a high price range. Foothills looked up the actual cost out of pocket and stuck to it. I got in right away to see the doctor and the whole appointment only took about 30 minutes. I'll definitely be going back to Foothills Vision Center! read more

The staff at Foothills is super nice! They are helpful and personable which makes going to the doctor much more pleasant. The office is very clean and nice with a small but comfortable waiting area. I'm not sure how much staff they have but seriously everyone I've encountered is just incredibly kind, patient, and helpful (Alicia is really sweet!). I will say that things can move sort of slow. I've had to wait a bit the couple of times I've gone in and that can be a little frustrating, however, I attribute it to the fantastic customer service so I can live with a little wait!Also, the actual in-store selection of eyewear seemed a little lacking. I don't know if when I went they didn't have much stock or if things just weren't put away but it would have been nice to have some more choices. I don't really love the frames I ended up with but primarily wear contacts so I don't care that much honestly but worth a mention as this is a review after all! Overall, I'm super happy to have found Foothills Vision and plan to continue using this vision center and these doctors for as long as I'm living in the area! read more

We had a great experience with Dr. K last week. I brought in my 14 year old son who has autism and my 14 month old daughter. I explained that my son has trouble with communication and may get confused easily and the doctor took it into consideration. He took his time, explained things slowly and checked in constantly to make sure my son was comfortable and doing alright. I was worried it would be a tough appointment for him and that we wouldn't get an accurate exam completed, however it went really smoothly!! My daughter was very wiggly and hard to control (toddlers, duh) and the doc did what he could to assess the issue I brought her in for. He referred me to a children's eye doctor for further assessment and took the time to explain what she may need. He even wrote down the referral docs phone and name for me, and let me know that he would be contacting them for me. He was easy to talk to and ask questions to, and overall I felt like our experience was very thorough and positive! The only recommendation I would give is to add a few toys to the waiting area as my daughter was having a hay day playing with everything she could get her hands on, which made it tricky to fill out the forms I needed to (only two forms though per child - super easy ones too). Let me start off by saying that I have terrible vision, and that I could not function without glasses. Having someone as thorough and as knowledgeable as Dr. Krajewski is imperative to my own health and to the well-being of my family. Because of my poor vision, it is very important to see same Optometrist year-after-year; someone who has my full vision history, and who will take the time to understand subtle (but very important) changes in my vision. I've been relying on Foothills Vision (Dr. Krajewski specifically) since 2001. Dr Krajewski and his front desk staff are always helpful and thorough. In 2010 I had my glasses blown off my face and destroyed by an explosive blast in Afghanistan. I was Okay, but my glasses were rendered useless. I reached out to Foothills Vision and they found the way to replace my glasses and send them to Afghanistan faster than one could expect to get replacement pair in the United States. Dr. Krajewski went above and beyond of what is expected to help me in my time of need. - I didn't forget that. Foothills Vision Center is a state-of-the-art office, with all the bells and whistles one could expect from modern-day Optometry. Dr. Krajewski is very experienced and knowledgeable Optometrist who is supported by friendly and professional front-desk staff. Their selection of frames and prices is on-par with any other Optometry offices in the area (if not better) and what they don't have on the shelf can be ordered through numerous catalogs. I believe they take most Vision insurances and they also provide care to Veterans through various VA Programs. I'm not sure how their out-of-pocket costs compare to another Optometrists in the area, so I won't comment on that. In closing, if you are looking for a professional, knowledgeable, and experienced Optometrist in the area, you should look no further. read more

My husband and I won't use Foothills Vision Center again. We each bought a pair of glasses, but they never called us and let us know when our glasses were in. After 3-4 weeks, we went to their office to find out. Both glasses were there, but at first, they could only find one pair. We took the glasses home only to discover that neither one of the glasses had been equipped with Transition lenses, which we paid for. We dropped the glasses back off 1 month ago, and still, we haven't heard whether the glasses have been fixed yet. I finally called to ask about it today and was told they would call me back because they busy with a customer. My impression is that the employees are very nice until after glasses are purchased, but afterwards, there is ZERO customer service. I'm going to suggest that VSP remove Foothills Vision Center from their Federal employees vision discount program. read more

We moved to Lakewood in 2012. Among the many things we needed to find was an eye doctor. Because of insurance and previous locations we lived, it was important that we find a doctor who accepted our insurance, an eye doctor we liked, one who was somewhat close to our home and a doctor that we could see on a somewhat short notice if needed. We found all of that at Foothills Vision Center. They have fit us with glasses, sunglasses and contact lens. We have been happy with all of it. I switched to Foothills Vision after having some bad customer service experiences at a previous office. I was nervous about the transition but it was amazing! The front office staff got me an appointment via phone right away. When I arrived to the appointment, the staff were welcoming and explained the visit process in great detail. Dr. Hennessy saw me within minutes of stepping into the office and she was very thorough, friendly, and professional. She gave a quick, yet comprehensive exam, fitted me with contacts, and then sent me out to get frames where I was treated incredibly well. I get to see Dr. Krajewski via the Veteran's Administration this past week was my second visit. What I appreciate most is the fact that along with good eye care I can get a considered, thoughtful, reasoned second opinion about procedures that an opthamologist had been pushing. Dr. K strongly recommended not to do either. Not only does this save me a lot of time and trouble but it underscores the importance of seeking a second opinion when someone is pushing a procedure long before something is absolutely necessary. To wit- his comment to me was that "most 64-year-olds would love to have your eyesight. You don't need cataract surgery for at least a decade." I don't know about you, but that kind of straight shooting builds a lot of faith in a doctor. At a time when far too many medical professionals are pushing pills and procedures onto us, a doctor who advises holding off is a doc who gets my loyalty.
