Several items were out of stock in the store, which was a bummer, but other options made it simple to find a replacement. I was able to order ahead a number of balloon arrangements and there are so many ways to customize, with bags, hi-float, weights, length, etc. They will also do curbside and nearby delivery (check online to see if you're in the delivery zone). One worker was unfriendly but the others were very speedy, helpful, and accommodating. As a heads up, if you have any balloons of your own, they will blow them up and add them to your arrangements. I had branded latex balloons and they only charged $1.30 each. I highly recommend the hi-float add-on to make your balloons float longer(24 hour guarantee). Totally worth the time and energy saved to get balloons done here. You can pay a tad extra to have them bagged for super easy transport.

Over the first couple of months of treatment, I grew to hate the way I looked--so I went with a friend on a Saturday and consulted with Scott. It was a wonderful experience: He was fun to work with, kind, compassionate and hugely flamboyant, which I found endearing. I settled on a wig, that had no price tag on it--but which he said was $269. He said he would order it on Monday, and I should have it by that Friday or Saturday. That weekend came and went, and I did not hear from Scott. I didn't call, because I didn't want to be a pest. On Monday or Tuesday of the following week I called him to inquire, and his TONE was rude and unfriendly. He acted like he didn't even know who I was. But he made me feel he was too busy to bother. Then he said he would "check on it" and call me back, which he did. Still, his tone was cold and rude -- like he didn't have time for interruptions, which he made me feel that my call was. Yesterday, I received a call from the shop's owner while I was driving--a very friendly call--stating that my wig had come in. I told her I would call later to make an appointment to pick it up. When I called, I asked to speak to Scott. Once again, the rude and unfriendly Scott "showed up." He hurried me through the call, saying I could either come in in an hour OR wait till after the 4th of July. I chose an appointment after the holiday. After thinking about everything overnight, I decided to cancel my wig order with Secret of a Duchess and purchase it somewhere else. I have worked in sales and customer service all my life, and I like doing business with people who are interested in more than just making a sale. It is so much more satisfying to BUILD RELATIONSHIPS than to simply negotiate a one-time transaction. And life is too short to deal with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! UPDATE: I emailed Judi who owns Secrets of a Duchess to let her know how unhappy and disappointed I was with the way I was treated by Scott. She offered to come in on a Sunday, her day off, to see what she could do to "make things right with me." I met her at the store, and she spent over an hour with me trying on both the wig I had ordered and several others she thought I might like. She was very gracious, hospitable and helpful. In the end I chose a different wig, and she gave me a significant discount to make up for my bad experience. She was so kind and delightful to work with, she more than made up for my horrible experience with Scott. If you are looking for a wig, a highly recommend you appoint with Judi herself. She will treat you right and make the experience fun and fabulous. You will be walking on a cloud when you leave her shop. Thank you, Judi! You restored my faith in people!

The performer was a really good singer and was able to pull of the Prince song!! Costume and all! They updated me the morning of and kept me posted as to the arrival time so I was able to make sure my son was home. I cannot be more satisfied and happier with the outcome!! Ohhhh not to mention that they created an amazing guitar out of ballons and gave it to him along with a balloon hat!!! Loveeeeee *****

As for getting our wedding dresses tailored, we did not receive what we were expecting. My dress just needed the hem shorted as I am average height. My fiancées need some more love, as the bust needed to fit better and the hem shorted. We got measured, paid, and left feeling confident in their expertise. Weeks pass and I'm feeling antsy, so I give them a call for an update. Turns out they were done and ready to be picked up. Once we picked them up and tried them on at home we noticed some issues- My dress now had padding in the bust (did not ask for) and the inner lining of the dresses hem was now longer then the outside. I was able to get into the dress to take the padding out with minimal damage. (given I have minimal sewing skills) But the messed up hem I will have to take to a different tailor. My Fiancées dress had two sets of padding added to it and did not fix the original issue. I removed both sets from the dress. And with my mom's sewing skills she helped it to sit flush to the skin. The hem was also not well done but was less noticeable under the outer layer of tulle. I did not have any extra time to bring the dresses back in to have them fixed. And with the experience we had, I did not feel confident that bringing them back in would fix them. Also with the possibility of getting charged again. I am not writing this to write this place off. They have other services that I'm sure they do a good job at. I am writing this to proceed with caution if you are looking for a tailor. It was definitely an interesting experience for us. And our day was special regardless.
