If you see something that crosses your eye that could be useful and not something you may see automatically back home, you may be inclined to make a purchase like I did. I bought a couple of pairs of painter-inspired socks that were economically priced. The store manager was courteous as we made our purchases. Did I need the socks? Probably not because I have so many at home, but you can always ditch old socks, and their selection was nice and colorful, so I went for it.

This review is for all three just mentioned. For such a large and fancy house, I fully expected the items in the shop to all be ridiculously-priced, but was pleasantly surprised at the variety of price points that could be found here. Make no mistake, there is some expensive stuff here! But it isn't all crazy expensive, either. At the small Christmas store, RBLUHM was very nice and chatty with me as I browsed and as she handled my purchase. I found a very nice candle on sale to give as a gift and she did a great job packaging it up. At the confectionary, my only complaint was that the space is a bit too small to browse comfortably. That being said, staff was great as I stocked up on local food items to bring back for my team. The chocolates looked great, but I was concerned about them making the journey back home safely! The main store at the end of the building is really the showcase for Biltmore items, from the wines to clothing, and other souvenirs with several cash stations and welcoming staff. I snagged a bottle of wine made on site as a Christmas gift and some local preserves for my mom--jam is her jam!

This large shop is located at the end of the hall of the renovated stables just outside the…read morebathrooms when you come into the shopping village just out the side exit of the Biltmore house tour. This shop is the largest I saw aside from the Historic Village and was loaded with expensive goodies including clothing, decor, jewelry, and wines. They had a ton of cool and inventive wine accessories as well as nearly all the flavors from the Biltmore winery for sale. A large area had ladies clothing and accessories and they sell little collectibles and memory items from the trip to include postcards, magnets, bookmarks, water bottles, etc. It's a very nice shop and large and easy to navigate. It's well worth the stop if you're already at the restrooms and I saw some items here I hadn't seen in any of the previous shops to this point.
