Within you'll find a small wooden bar and wood paneled walls. It's cozy in all the best ways. Cross talk with other patrons happens easily. The kitchen is a little space right off the bar, you can see the cook working. If you like burgers, you will be happy with the abundant 1/2 lb. If you like a good grilled cheese and tomato, you'll feel nourished by savory goodness. There's always weekday specials. A lunch special, and a different one in the evening. One of these weekends I'm going to try their breakfast. Cheap eats. Reasonably priced drinks. Some local brewery offerings on tap. And no one will make you feel like a stranger. When sporting events are on the TVs, it's not overly loud or too much. There's something nicely balanced about this little social hangout. I'm happy to have finally discovered the casual home away from home that a good dive bar can be. This is that place. Pull up a barstool. Nurse a pint. Make yourself some friends.

I am not 100% certain that Uncle Ricky's offers inside seating: the main dining areas are outside, complete with a full bar that's enclosed (but still outside). There is a second bar that's fully exposed to the elements. It is definitely a low-key, relaxing environment and very enjoyable when the weather cooperates! Some key takeaways from our visit that may help out fellow would-be patrons: there isn't any draft beer. No big deal. I tried one of the specialty drinks called Cherry Ale and wow was it amazing! Uncle Ricky's offers standard "bar food" fare but above and beyond that, there's a full menu of items available as well as daily specials. A friend of mine likes Uncle Ricky's because they offer many seafood dinner options. There is also a strong chance of live music. Their Facebook page will alert you to the evening's specials as well as if there is a band playing or not. On Friday, there was a band and yes, it was pretty loud, but this didn't impact our evening negatively. Also, it's a bar atmosphere populated with regulars and locals. We find the buzz of a busy environment, filled with people enjoying life a rather pleasant experience. If you're looking for a more intimate, quiet place then you may want to reconsider. The server we had was attentive and pleasant. I also think the pricing of food and drink was extremely reasonable. Good service, a nice variety of different food options, and a relaxing atmosphere - what more do you need? For these reasons, I would patronize Uncle Ricky's again and recommend this business to others who are seeking a similar experience.

What did you say??…read more The volume of the music system at Mt Royal almost shoves you back out the door ... you can feel the sound and I don't even begin to imagine the damage being done inside the ears of the bar keeps at this inn that has been standing on this corner for more than 100 years (Foundation must be good to withstand the thundering sounds ... did I mention it is LOUD IN HERE!!)! Even my glasses were shaking. Friendly staff but frankly I could not hear what my multiple draft choices were so I meekly said "I will have that first IPA." She replied "you nt the ore dub?' Or something like that ... I smiled and said yes. I hate QR menus but oh well. Specials and signatures are there along with the menu ... I find myself moving with the music but not sure it's by my choice or by the reverberation of sound. By the way, I am seated in a side room off the main bar area where the sound is blitzing the atmosphere! They also have some outdoor seating... highly recommended! The good news they were not battered, which seems to be South Jersey kitchen's favorite way to prep the wings made famous in Buffalo, NY. Whatever beer I picked was pretty good (Bonesaw). I watched others struggling with the QR coded menu and absently tapped my fingers to music whose lyrics were hard to comprehend because my ears were blown out earlier. No amount of alcohol would have convinced me they were worth listening too. Although from the outside Bojo's looks nice, inside it's lacking. It's one huge room with the bar in the center. There is nothing remotely welcoming or cozy about the bar AT all. They also have an outside for warmer weather. Service was laidback but friendly and attentive. They have a great selection of beers. Food is typical bar food. The wings were very good. It's worth noting that The Mill also touts ridiculously reasonably priced lunch specials; also, each day of the week has a special associated with it. For example, Thursday night is wing night. Three days a week they have happy hour specials too. Check out their website and social media pages for more information on this. If you've never been or haven't been in awhile, I would highly recommend visiting The Mill. You will not be disappointed and you will get GREAT food/drink and top-notch service!
