Good food, great beer selection, and awesome people! What more do you need at a neighborhood bar. The inside is in three parts, a small front bar, a middle bar with tables, and a back bar with a few high top tables. They also have an outside for warmer weather. Service was laidback but friendly and attentive. They have a great selection of beers. Food is typical bar food. The wings were very good. Big and tasty (hot honey - naked). Onion soup was fine, a bit salty. The burger and chicken sandwich were also good. The house made chips were delicious. Great spot to unwind and have some brews. read more

Oaklyn Manor is your typical small-town dive bar. When you walk in you see a tiny bar and tables. Then they have a pretty spacious back room. In there, they offer high tops and a longer bar. They have a few beers and ciders on top but nothing too crazy. I went there on New Year's Eve. The place was pretty busy and they only had a few bartenders working. The service was a little slow but it was also a holiday. I want to go there on a nonholiday to see how the service will be and their food. I'll say this; the Manor ain't much to look at, but don't let that deter you. It's your uncles neighborhood watering hole, and was, in fact, my uncles neighborhood watering hole, so it was the only logical option for his memorial lunch after he passed. First, they really did look at uncle like family; there was a definite "Cheers" vibe from the long time bartender. Stories of my uncle singing and cutting up. It was good to see he felt at home here. I imagine they treat most of their guests the same way. But that aside, they laid out an ENORMOUS spread for us of meatballs, sausage, salad, chicken tenders, and wings. And can I just say how good the wings were! Like, surprisingly good. Again, if you just LOOK at the Manor, you probably aren't going to expect much; it's old, tight, a little dark on the inside,(but with a nice outdoor seating area.) But maybe that's their angle; underpromise/over deliver. Seriously, if they were closer, they would be my go to wing spot. The staff was helpful, friendly, and there is a large parking lot immediately across the street. I would have no qualms about stopping here and raising a glass to Uncle Rich if I'm ever passing by. read more

Nice little dive bar! We live close by and wanted to check out this place. Always looking for local bars that's close to home.. and this bar has the drinks and the food! When we walked in, we noticed a little bar are.. probably where most of the locals like to sit and talk with the bartender. So we chose to do so. Our bartender Lydia was awesome and great to talk with. Even made us some different shots that she made up herself and for the other people at the bar! She definitely caters to her customers and you can be sure she'll take care of you! Will definitely be back because of her! Moving on to the food. We ordered the wings, the brined kind with garlic Parmesan and the fries with Old Bay seasoning with a side of cheese. The wings were great! Just wish they were a little bit more crispy.. i prefer dry rub but they had only sauced kinds.. and the fries were crispy! Almost like they were double fries.. which is how i like em! Beers they had on tap were good.. and they had a few brews from the local brewery Tonewood Brewery.. i had the Porter which was so good. They had the bar seating area.. which seems to be where most of the locals sit and then also a dining area where you got tables and chairs on the next room over. Much more room inside than you think from the outside! Will definitely be back! If i wasn't so full.. i would have tried their crab balls.. which i heads were amazing! Don't come here if you care about hygiene. I went up to the front male bartender tonight very nicely: "sorry for bothering you, but the women's room is out of soap. Thank you very much!" Then a female who worked there came up and said something to the tune of "if you can't wipe your coochie without needing to wash your hands you need help." I was just being nice and helping them avoid a problem. They apparently don't wash their hands and shit-talk paying customers who would have tipped well. Avoid at all costs. read more

I used to love the Manor back in the 80s and 90s. Moved away from South Jersey a long time ago but stopped in recently after going to a Phillies game. Completely foul and disgusting now. Food gross. My wife and I have been wanting to check that place out for awhile, and we really dug our experience. This is place has an old school neighborhood bar feel to it with it's wood paneling and lighting fixtures. I dig this look as it feels unpretentious. There is a dining room in the back, so don't be confused if you think it's just a bar. Oaklyn Manor has a decent taplist of good beer, mostly local. It's awesome when a bar caters to local craft beer. The food is your standard bar fare. We decided on wings as a starter, and they were great. Huge wings and crispy with an awesome house made hout sauce with Tonewood beer. The Whiskey bacon burger was very good. A messy and juicy burger with a hint of sweetness from the bacon jam. My wife and I had lunch at the Manor on Saturday , May, 28. My wife ordered a hamburge, ( her Hamburger was fine ) and I ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich. Our server was Billy , who did a fine job. My Roast Beef sandwich was horrible. It looked the Roast Beef was fried, like a cheesesteak. I have not been to the Manor in a few years , however, I have eaten their Roast Beef sandwiches before, and it was delicious. After our meal, I sent an email to the Manor, advising them of how terrible this sandwich tasted. I did not receive a response. They have lost my business! read more

This bar has reopened under new ownership. We stopped in for the grand opening. They have an adjacent parking lot. Inside you will find a bar, main dining room and an outdoor patio (it is small but cozy, we love that patio). They did some new renovations but retained the cozy corner-bar feel that I remember from the 1990's. (no butcher-block tables or hipster Edison light bulbs here, lol) Service: This place was packed! As expected, the service was very slow (1/2 hour wait for appetizer, 1 hour for sandwiches). The staff was hustling and helping each other out. Our server (Amanda) was excellent. She was very friendly/professional and had a seasoned 'please excuse my reach' experience to her...if you know what I mean. Drinks: At the moment, they don't seem to have a written beer menu. We were seated in the main dining room so we couldn't visibly see the beer tap handles, we had no idea what was flowing. Our server had to verbally tell us (note: they have a chalkboard suspended from the ceiling, perhaps they could utilize that to list the beers?). In any case, we chose the Saison beer produced from the local Tonewood brewery that is located down the street (it was very good) Food: At the moment, the inaugural menu seems limited. I imagine as things progress, they will tweak/add-on to it. -- Buffalo Wings: 24-hour brined, oven-baked and then finished in the fryer. These were naked style and very good! They were meaty and the sauce was flavorful (we ordered the 'Hot' but we will order the hotter 'WTF' version next time). -- Chicken Cheessteak: I liked the roll! (good meat-to-roll ratio). The chicken was semi-dry and wasn't very flavorful (needed some seasoning). The American cheese was just draped over the top of the meat and wasn't very gooey (I prefer the cheese blended-in) -- Cheessteak (beef): Better than the chicken cheessteak, the cheese was perfectly melted/mixed-into the meat. The accompaniment of french fries was pretty good...skin-on, crispy on the outside. Pricing: very reasonable Suggestions/Observations/Complaints. The HVAC could use some work, it was hot inside (looks like they are using two ancient window units). It seems they only have one POS (Point of Sale) machine in the dining area, we observed this creating a choke-point for the servers (2 to 3 servers waiting in line to use the machine)...perhaps they need a 2nd one? This place has been here forever I used to hang here in the seventies and eighties it was strange returning after oh a 25 year absence The bar is the same the back dining room is very different gone are the booths I remember and a bar was added The back patio which I remember as the back yard is converted into a seating area So far the burgers, steak sandwich and grilled chicken salad were pretty good Not stellar but average for bar food The nachos did not appeal to me although I was told they are popular The waitresses were great very friendly and very attentive Most would characterize this place as a Dive bAr or old mans bar I concur but it is a badge of honor The open mic nights on Monday run by John falco and david Kelly are great There is a ton of good talent in a relaxed laid back atmosphere read more

A nice little dive bar. There are three bars in the building. The front bar seems to be the most popular, and seems to be where all of the regulars tend to gather. The center bar has tables and a small bar. There there is an outdoor porch bar. They have Tonewood beers on tap (Tonewood is across the street). Other than the Tonewood, most of what they offer is pretty standard for a dive. The servers were friendly, and good to chat with. We never had to wait for drinks either time that we were there. It was pretty quiet on a weekend night. read more

The blandest and greasiest beef you can possibly imagine. Boxed seasoning kits from the supermarket are gourmet by comparison. Instant stomach ache. Service was also horrendous this night, and I noticed the usual manager and owner presence was not there. It showed. Total dive but I still love it ! Good food options but a little pricey for a dive bar. The outdoor dining has stepped it up with a really nice back bar with cute lights and garden ambiance. Since COVID there is also extra outdoor dining in the parking lot with parking across the street available in municipal lot. I was in town visiting a family friend who took me to this bar and my experience was absolute appalling. Not only was the food extremely undercooked but the service and management was unwilling to acknowledge my concerns or work with me in any way. At the bar I ordered the Garlic Parm chicken wings and a Guinness. When i got the beer it was clearly skunked and undrinkable. I mentioned this to the bartender at the time and he insisted that the beer smelled and tasted fine. I asked if I could have a yuengling since I wasn't happy with the taste of the guinness, and was told that I'd have to pay for both. Clearly he has either never drank a guinness before in his life or doesnt care at all about the quality of service his customers are experiencing. However given that it was an irish bartender, my assumption would be the latter. Then when I got the wings things got even worse. I took a few bites of one of the wings and noticed that it was raw in the middle. I showed this to the bartender and was told that this was the normal preparation for the wings. I asked if I could order something else since I didn't want to eat any more undercooked chicken, and again met resistance. When I asked to speak with the manager, he brought out one of the owners Lisa. I expressed to her my concern about both the quality of the wings and the skunked beer, asked if I could order something, and was again met with similar resistance. After the owner was clearly uncooperative, my friend and I just paid the bill for what we had ordered and left. Later that night and into the next day my stomach was upset and I had to throw up several times, which im assuming was due to the raw chicken wings I consumed. I'm not sure if Lisa is aware, but Salmonella poisoning is a potentially very dangerous outcome of eating raw chicken. I am extremely disappointed that yelp forces me to give this place a one star rating, I would give it zero stars if i could. I would recommend that any person considering a visit to this bar stay away. read more

What an incredibly fun place. I must have driven past this establishment 20+ times, I don't think I've ever noticed it before. Last night a friend suggested we get something to eat and already being in the area we walked over. What a wonderful time! We went to the back and sat at the bar-the wonderful bartender with the cutest hat greeted us and engaged us in chitchat while we looked over the beer list. They support local breweries with three different Tonewoods in tap and a variety of others. I had the Bonesaw - they get a star for being friendly and another for supporting local breweries. There was a lay sitting at the bar, she was decked out in a holiday hat and some twinkle lights for a necklace. Turns out she was one of the owners. She couldn't have possibly been any nicer. Yes she is the owner and has a vested interest in happy customers, but...she was beyond lovely and I got a private tour of the entire place. They get another star for that. This place is so much bigger than you would expect. Don't be fooled from the outside it looks small...it's huge. Planning a party, they can hold you and your 500 closest friends. So I'm a vegan and though there wasn't a specific option on the menu for vegans....the lovely bartender and the owner had the folks in the kitchen make a vegan pizza for me. It was so good. They make the dough in-house, it's thin and crispy. There was fresh basil and the sauce was delicious. I was so happy...add a star. Lastly, this is what I have to say about the Oaklyn Manor, they have a jukebox, a well stocked bar with a nice selection of booze, everyone talks to everyone else, the place is unpretentious and is an all around good time. The Oaklyn Manor Bar is an area institution. Around since the late 1930s, the bar recently changed owners and made some updates. One of the things that makes the Manor special is it is one of the few remaining true "locals.' As Westmont has found success being a non-dry town smack in the middle of restaurant meccas Collingswood and Haddonfield, the old Haddon Inn and other old school bars have been bought and reworked into fairly generic spots with decent beer selections and food. Not the Manor. The new owners wisely kept the old man bar feel, making updates to the deck (including an enclosure which allows for winter use), and a few minor tweaks to the interior. What they did do is partner up with the excellent Tonewood Brewery up the street to expand the beer offerings, though a lager and a shot can still be had at a reasonable price. The manor was never known for it's great food, basic bar fare, and the new owners, despite expanding the menu, haven't created anything memorable. The "tomato pie" is basically a bread stick, very little sauce, and the sauce that's there was unremarkable. In this day and age in this region, it's surprising not to find any vegan options aside from salad and fries.The menu prices increased a little from the previous ownership, but are still below the industry average. In summary it's a great cozy place to grab a drink or three, and worth the trek off Haddon Ave to see a true original. read more

O.K. This is a VERY BIASED review. I was practically raised in this place. Crazy as it may seem, our family tradition was to go to the Manor on Christmas Eve. My Mom, brother and I would get a cheese steak, fries and a coke and Dad would get a Michelob with his steak. This place isn't some dive bar. It's one of those old corner bars that the whole family, generation after generation, would go to. It's split between what is essentially a casual restaurant with a bar, and nice little bar where the "men" drink the hard stuff. I now live clear across the country, but I make an effort to stop by whenever I'm home. The last time I was there I waxed poetic to the bartender, Werner, about how great Haddon Township is. The guy sitting next to me bought me a drink. He was a cop. About an hour later another cop bought me a drink. I ask you this. Where can you go where a cop will by you a drink? I returned the favor by buying the whole bar a round. I bought drinks for a baker's dozen, and it only cost me a twenty. No one was obnoxious. No one was blitzed. It was like going to your Aunt's house for Sunday dinner and having drinks with all of your Uncle's and Cousins. So go to the manner and have a Yeunglings and a good laugh. The Manor has improved so much since I ate there as a kid. I would still say it's diner quality food, but the service and atmosphere are great. Our waitress Marley was really eager to help and made sure our drinks were filled, despite looking pretty busy. So I've never actually been inside ths place. It gives off a feel that I would see my Dad sitting at the bar. However, it's right in our neighborhood and has a nice outside porch that we frequent. They have delicious cheesesteaks, as well as your average bar food. Beer selection is average, but you can always find something that you like. Service was slow at best, but when it's a nice day and you are enjoying the great outdoors, things seem to matter a bit less. Next time I shall venture inside. read more
