I feel bad, but this place still struggles to get food that's hits the mark. There are so many other options with in the area that do a better job. I'll give it another year to see if things improve.

Loaded potato soup topped with banger sausage, bacon & cheese. The best!

Local bar. Friendliest staff & bartenders. Food is delicious! Just had the best loaded potato soup on their St Paddy special menu - had bits of banger sausage on top. yum! Next i had brisket mac & cheese! very good! Bartender was doing double duty with serving patio tables & didn't miss a beat! very attentive when needed. Friendly atmosphere.

Different Cheesesteak #983 in the last 4 years. Special Guest Eater Derek Timm. If you want to read a good review of what we ate, go to Derek's blog, bluejeanfood.com or bluejeanfood.com on facebook. We had a smorgasbord of food. Derek got the Oaklyn Cheesesteak. I saw a grilled cheese sandwich on Texas toast on the menu so I drew on my inner John Cohl and got a cheesesteak on Texas Toast. We got 20 Manor wings to share. Chef Jason gave us three dipping sauces to try. I think this is the best way to enjoy Oaklyn Manor Bar & Grill, several people, a mountain of food and let Chef Jason make you something special.

Nice little dive bar! We live close by and wanted to check out this place. Always looking for local bars that's close to home.. and this bar has the drinks and the food! When we walked in, we noticed a little bar are.. probably where most of the locals like to sit and talk with the bartender. So we chose to do so. Our bartender Lydia was awesome and great to talk with. Even made us some different shots that she made up herself and for the other people at the bar! She definitely caters to her customers and you can be sure she'll take care of you! Will definitely be back because of her! Moving on to the food. We ordered the wings, the brined kind with garlic Parmesan and the fries with Old Bay seasoning with a side of cheese. The wings were great! Just wish they were a little bit more crispy.. i prefer dry rub but they had only sauced kinds.. and the fries were crispy! Almost like they were double fries.. which is how i like em! Beers they had on tap were good.. and they had a few brews from the local brewery Tonewood Brewery.. i had the Porter which was so good. They had the bar seating area.. which seems to be where most of the locals sit and then also a dining area where you got tables and chairs on the next room over. Much more room inside than you think from the outside! Will definitely be back! If i wasn't so full.. i would have tried their crab balls.. which i heads were amazing! And also heard whatever weekend specials they have.. you should definitely try it! If it's a nice little local bar you're looking far... this is a great bar to try out! Will definitely be back

This bar has reopened under new ownership. We stopped in for the grand opening. They have an adjacent parking lot. Inside you will find a bar, main dining room and an outdoor patio (it is small but cozy, we love that patio). They did some new renovations but retained the cozy corner-bar feel that I remember from the 1990's. (no butcher-block tables or hipster Edison light bulbs here, lol) Service: This place was packed! As expected, the service was very slow (1/2 hour wait for appetizer, 1 hour for sandwiches). The staff was hustling and helping each other out. Our server (Amanda) was excellent. She was very friendly/professional and had a seasoned 'please excuse my reach' experience to her...if you know what I mean. Drinks: At the moment, they don't seem to have a written beer menu. We were seated in the main dining room so we couldn't visibly see the beer tap handles, we had no idea what was flowing. Our server had to verbally tell us (note: they have a chalkboard suspended from the ceiling, perhaps they could utilize that to list the beers?). In any case, we chose the Saison beer produced from the local Tonewood brewery that is located down the street (it was very good) Food: At the moment, the inaugural menu seems limited. I imagine as things progress, they will tweak/add-on to it. -- Buffalo Wings: 24-hour brined, oven-baked and then finished in the fryer. These were naked style and very good! They were meaty and the sauce was flavorful (we ordered the 'Hot' but we will order the hotter 'WTF' version next time). -- Chicken Cheessteak: I liked the roll! (good meat-to-roll ratio). The chicken was semi-dry and wasn't very flavorful (needed some seasoning). The American cheese was just draped over the top of the meat and wasn't very gooey (I prefer the cheese blended-in) -- Cheessteak (beef): Better than the chicken cheessteak, the cheese was perfectly melted/mixed-into the meat. The accompaniment of french fries was pretty good...skin-on, crispy on the outside. Pricing: very reasonable Suggestions/Observations/Complaints. The HVAC could use some work, it was hot inside (looks like they are using two ancient window units). It seems they only have one POS (Point of Sale) machine in the dining area, we observed this creating a choke-point for the servers (2 to 3 servers waiting in line to use the machine)...perhaps they need a 2nd one? It is great to have a corner bar in this area, I can see us becoming regulars again!

The…read morefood is consistently very good -- the burgers are huge, the fries are amazing, and the crab fries (made with real crab meat) are absolutely delicious... and that's coming from someone who doesn't even like crab all that much. One of the most fun things on the menu is their chicken "thumbs," which are shaped like little hands -- I wish I took a picture because they're great and definitely something you don't see everywhere. Service can be a little hit or miss, but not because the staff isn't working hard -- it's a big place and when it gets busy, it really gets busy, and they sometimes seem a bit understaffed for the rush. That said, everyone is always very friendly, which makes a big difference and keeps the experience positive. They also have a huge bar with several beers on tap, great specialty drinks, and drink specials, so it's a great place to hang out with friends and have a good time. Overall, definitely worth a visit. Just maybe don't go if you're in a big rush -- go when you have time to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and have a good meal.

My foodie bestie and I added Kid Rips to our must try list years ago and finally got around to…read moretrying it. Parking was a challenge on a Friday night as every space was full and turning around in the back lot involves making a k turn around the other vehicles who are also looking for a spot. We ended up parking down the street and walking over. We were seated immediately, as the bar has ample seating, both high tops and regular tables. My bff wasn't in the mood for a cocktail so we opted for Arnold palmers. Now, I am a HUGE avocado fan and I had heard about their infamous avocado fries so I was super excited about trying them. That may or may not have been the main reason for my visit. The avocado fries are fresh large slices of avocado breaded in panko and fried with a sweet and tangy spicy mayo sauce. I loved them but my bff wasn't as excited. He informed me he isn't a huge fresh avocado fan, so this one is for the avocado lovers. We also opted for the chicken parm rollers which is described as "Chicken mixed with ricotta cheese, herbs and spices rolled in panko breadcrumbs served with house made marinara and shaved parmesan" - they are chicken meatballs. We expected something else and now that we've had them and I re-read the description I'm not sure what we had in mind but it wasn't this. They were just okay. I think if they were placed on a plate with seasoned whipped ricotta and drizzled with pesto it could boost the flavor experience. For our entrees my bff got the chicken strips with the sweet and sassy sauce and I opted for the KO burger. My KO burger was delicious. The seeded brioche bun was buttery and fresh and the burger itself was flavorful. The fries were also fantastic. Fresh cut and sprinkled with a sweet seasoning, I didn't even feel the need to add ketchup or a side of aioli or anything. They were perfect. I didn't try my bffs chicken tenders but the sweet and sassy sauce tasted just like buffalo sauce. Pretty sure it was the wrong sauce but he didn't say anything to our server so that's on us. If you are looking for a bar to hang out and watch sports, get a drink, and have a great burger, I'd recommend this place - but maybe uber there.

nah. Mulligans is…read moreactually fine, but they shoot themselves in the foot in so many ways that I know I won't be going back. And as The Misses stated as we pulled away, "I never knew this place existed, and I'm happy to go back to that." Ouch. First, the good: - The building is spacious, and looked clean. There is plenty of room, and table and bar seating. - The menu is vast, with a lot of options - Service was fine. The bad: - Mulligans is wildly expensive. I think the cheapest thing to eat was a small bowl of fries, which was $7.95 (more on this in The Ugly.) An APPETIZER of chicken fingers was over $13 dollars, and that didn't include fries. I was shocked at some of the prices.... - speaking of those prices, they had Happy Hour AND Lunch specials.....that were almost the exact same price as the regular menu prices. So, a flatbread from the menu was like $12, but the Happy Hour "deal" was a flatbread for $10*....(again, more on this in a second....) How is that a deal? Yardhouse, for example, does HALF PRICE flatbreads during happy hour. - That barely discounted flatbread was also underseasoned, by the way. It looked ok, and had nice sized chicken chunks on it, but The Misses said that everything was underseasoned. (She did give them kudos for fresh fries though...) - There is no kids menu, even though there was a shocking amount of children here. We brought our 7y/o, the table next to us had 2 boys between 5-9, and at least 2 to 3 other groups came in with children just while we were sitting there. But, nothing on the menu for kids. I guess you need to just pony up the $13+ for an appetizer chicken tenders meal. The UGLY: - About those prices....they don't match the menu. I can't stand the price bait and switch, yet Mulligans hit us with it for every item. That bullshit $10 happy hour "deal" is actually $10.40 on the receipt. (BEFORE tax, before one of you wise ass economists chimes in....) My "$11.95 lunch special" was actually $12.43, and the Little Ones small side of fries came in at $8.06. Now, these are just slight little increases, but it's the point that the actual prices arenn't the same as the menu price. All of this is made even worse by the fact that.... - ...anything other than cash incurs a FOUR percent surcharge! So, our meal had an ADDITIONAL $3 tacked on because we paid with a card, like normal people. Who's walking around with cash in 2026? Drug dealers? There is just no reason to travel here to overpay for incorrectly price labeled food that you will then have to pay ANOTHER premium on at the end. The food was FINE, but fine isn't worth the upcharge.

We usually gravitate toward dive bars, but wanted something a little nicer for a Saturday…read moreafternoon--and Mulligan's was the perfect fit! Big, open, and bright with a varied menu and a TON of beers on tap. We had already eaten, so we didn't try the food, but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. Portions looked generous too! One quirky thing: the older section of the restaurant in the back feels like a completely different style of building. It's a little odd, but honestly adds to the charm. Overall, it's a cool place to watch sports, grab a drink, and enjoy a laid-back vibe. Servers and bartenders were super friendly as well.
