    Beautiful tall bookcase!
    Rachael B.

Josh is truly a professional. As others have stated, he clearly likes what he does and he takes pride in his work. We hired him to build a tall book case with drawers and cabinets and a ladder (I will put up a picture). Not only it is beautiful, the whole experience was pleasant. Josh is very reliable (he is there when he says he is going to be and will communicate if otherwise) and I really appreciated how easy it was to communicate with him about the work. We got to see our shelves being built online via Twitpic. He was helpful about ideas for the design (we weren't sure what we wanted). The price was fair for the quality of work and he was accurate as to how much materials would cost us. Josh also set us up with someone else to stain and finish the bookcase (when that is done, I'll post a picture of that, too). When we decided to hire him, there was a bit of a wait (I think it was a couple of months). I assume this is because his work speaks for itself and he has a lot of satisfied customers. When it came time for our work to be done, it was just when he said it would be. We're new to the area, so we don't get a lot of word of mouth recommendations about things we need done around the house. Thankfully, we found Josh on Yelp and we're so happy we did! When we need more carpentry work, we know who to call!

Our beautiful built in bookshelf/desktop/drawers for our study.
    Daniel S.

Josh is very good at what he does. We hired him to build a large built in bookshelf with drawers and a desktop. We were a little nervous about putting down a deposit months in advance (he was booked so far in advance!), but the end result was fantastic. He was always forthright in communication and reliable. He did what he said and was honest when he had to reschedule something. On top of that, he was always friendly and direct. Josh listened carefully to exactly what we needed, talked out any possible issues we'd have, and accounted for all the outlets and such that would have to brought out through the piece. We also had to re-do the crown moulding around the piece, and he noticed the poor installation of the rest of the moulding in the room, so he agreed to re-do the rest of the moulding, too. He's meticulous and thorough. We got to watch the progress as he built the piece, because he posts pictures on his Twitter account, which is great! The installation went smoothly, and the final piece looks great (as you can see in the picture) - it's exactly what we wanted and discussed. The new moulding also looks great! I would absolutely recommend Josh for any carpentry project!

Josh was so great to work with and created the most beautiful library shelves for our new entertainment room, just like we had envisioned! He was clear and helpful up front, and kept in touch and on schedule for when he planned installation. Everything turned out great and we've already gotten so many compliments!

10 ft x 16 ft built-in bookshelf unit built and installed by Triple Crown Carpentry. The smoked glass is a nice touch... Josh's suggestion.

Triple Crown Carpentry (Josh) just completed work on a floor-to-ceiling, built-in bookshelf (10 ft x 16 ft) feature in my home. After seeing his work on his website (Photos page with embedded Instagram account), I knew Josh was the man for the job. Take a look at that Instagram account... full of pics of his work, all of which is impressive. My initial contact with him was submitting a quote request on his site, which Josh responded to promptly. After a quick back-and-forth via email, he came out to our house to have a look at the space and make a quick sketch of what I had in mind. He had told me that it'd be about 4 months before he could start on it, which was fine with us because we didn't want to entrust the project to anyone else. He got in touch with us as the project start date approached and came back out to the house to refresh his memory about the space and the details of the job. He then proceeded to build the feature in his workshop while providing us with a couple updates via email (with pictures) and posts to the Instagram account, which was appreciated and got us even more excited for the installation. One thing to note is that our project was built with red oak, and Josh saw an opportunity to enhance the piece by offering us a different species of wood (name escapes me now) for the small countertop to make it more aesthetically appealing. He looks out for you. After all the pieces were complete, he came out to the house for the install with an assistant, and they installed it in about six or seven hours. And the finished product rates above expectations. He really did a fantastic job, and we could not possibly be happier with it. I was really impressed by his ability to listen to me and my vision for the piece, draw a rough sketch, and create exactly (or even better than) what I had in mind. The guy is a pro, so go with Triple Crown Carpentry. You won't be disappointed.

    The finished unit. Thanks, Josh!

After i paid for the materials, it was a struggle to get them to show up and they never finished the job. timeline: paid on December 1st and was told installation would be done by December 19. They said they would prep the door (paint, etc.) and have it ready for the 19th. The week of the installation i never received an update. when i called i was told that they could not be here because of weather. Next, they said they would come on January 2 to do the job. They showed up only to tear up my entrance and leave it unfinished (See pictures). They took multiple measurements of everything they could find but not made any real progress. They left and took the door and materials (that i already paid for) to paint them (didnt do it the first time) and said they would come back the following Friday (1/9/26) to finish the job. when next friday came, they never showed up, i received no communication from them. After calling multiple times for several days with no response, i was able to connect with them by calling from a different number (they thought was a new job). I was finally able to get Rene to at least return my door and materials that i paid for (which they overcharged me for). They finally showed up a few days later to deliver my materials, but the job was never finished as originally contracted. This is not the first time this happens. My first review was well over four years ago - and I thought it made sense to surface John again…read morepublicly, most notably due to the continued care and attention he gives our rental property out in East Austin. We are in the midst of a tenant turnover (not the best time as a landlord), and having the home sit idle for any amount of time seems like an eternity. But that's not how it is with John. Two days after the tenants moved out, John supported us by conducting a walkthrough of the place, highlighting areas that needed some attention, and got to work. He brought his mower and lawn edger to do some landscaping, flushed the water heater, fixed the front door lock (after troubleshooting it live with a support agent), tightened up some loose cabinetry in the kitchen and bedrooms, and even cleared out the garage of dust and loose debris. John is incredibly thoughtful and is a great communicator - thorough and complete. He actually takes care of the home like it is his own, and honestly, that level of detail and support helps me ensure that I can stand behind the value & security of home when it goes back on the market for the next tenants. John - thank you for continuing to be you. We appreciate you more than you know.

What an aptly named company, because yes, I do in fact, love this handyman service…read more We had paid Home Depot to deliver and install our new dishwasher. When they showed up they said, "Nope there's a piece of wood trim in the way, and we can't," and they left. Literally that's all they said... and left. So I begin the process of calling around to plumbers and handy men. John is the only person that could squeeze our small project in, and when I say "squeeze" I mean it. He (like many others) was booked solid, BUT he went SO far out of his way to make it to our house. Even hanging around for a while in our part of town when I missed his call and it took me over an hour to get back to him. I couldn't believe it. He's clearly not short on business, so the fact that he was concerned enough about his costumer to just wait around and see if we would get back to him boggles my mind. He had SURGERY scheduled for the next day, and was so concerned that if he didn't get to our call that night he wouldn't be able to for some time. Again, he's not short on work, he just cared that it would be a nightmare for us to go that long w/o a dishwasher. Now you would think, busy as he is, with surgery the next day, and late in reply to him as we were, that he would rush the job. NOPE. He stayed here for hours making sure he did the job right, and he was a very pleasant "house guest" as well. Funny stories about his work. Tips about other "jobs" around our house that came up in conversation, and actually tips too, not just fishing for more work: "Oh yeah you could do that yourself, you just need XYZ and to watch out for these things." The dishwasher is installed, run beautifully, and the price was absolutely fair and appropriate. I probably would have paid more. Especially considering how long he was here, and that our instillation did have a few unexpected issues. Again you might worry with other companies, that all the polite conversation it racking up the price, but no way, not with John. Read the name of this business and believe it. You will love this handyman service.
