I made calls to multiple Record stores within the last 2 months prepping, planning on where I wanted to go. Schuler's seemed like the hidden gem no one goes to. I was told, along with several other people that they HONOR THE LINE. I showed up at 4am. I was second in line, made friends with the first and third in line who were also told they honor the line. at 8:45ish a man came out and took note of how many people wanted Taylor Swift only. I was hopeful I was getting my entire ISO and my oldest would get what they want to because again, 2nd in line. Doors open at 9am and the man who came out earlier announces free for all. At that point it became a safety issue, people running, pushing, hollering. I got everything I was after however they only had 1 copy of what Toby wanted and they sold out because of course. I called the grand rapids location, the GM was super nice, offered to send us the vinyl free if they had it in stock but sadly they had only gotten 1 as well and it sold out. I am so sad for my oldest because this was supposed to be a fun experience and because of one careless man, RSD has been forever tainted for us because I really don't want to risk sitting out from 4am-9am in the rain ever again just to be trampled on.

This Barnes & Noble location offers many things under its roof Including a large floorspace with a massive selection of Books that can be incredibly overwhelming. They have a Starbucks cafe located inside the Store also which I go straight to once I'm inside which I order a iced mocha latte shake (gotta try it out)!! I usually walk around browsing there Books while sipping on my shake they do have tables an chairs if you prefer looking to order a slice of cheesecake. Being able to sit an eat in the stores cafe allows you to read a few pages outta your Book you got with you as well. The Customer Service is great here they always got folks working that know there Books they know exactly where to look for a title fast if asked which is Helpful. This B&N is as well connected to the Lansing Mall which is very convenient for shoppers an wanting to checkout another store or grab a bite to eat without having to leave an drive to another location. Like for example if its a rainy day or theres a snowstorm during the Winter you won't have to go outside nor drive to the next store. One of the antiques is the fellow who works here who is certainly not someone you want to depend on if you're in a hurry. He is a sweet old man who always has the time for an impromptu chat about this or that and he has a vague idea where you might find that or this in this store. It's very cramped and difficult to walk through, let alone find anything specific in, but it's so very interesting. Inventory keeps piling in, quite literally, and I don't think I've ever used, literally, so appropriately. I found some openly racist anthropology ("South American Redskins") from the early 20th century, and some truly vintage racist (and racial) legal text from a little bit earlier ("People of color property issues" and yes, that's the origin of the allegedly open minded euphemism, segregation law), sheet music from the Roaring Twenties, Shakespeare annotated meticulously two generations ago by a theater professor, a photography coffee table book from Post-War (World War II) Japan - the era when my father met my mother in rebuilt Hiroshima. There's a fascinating cramped filing cabinet full of antique postcards and while I was there a Korean War veteran and his middle aged adult daughter found a WWII era post card that had been sent to a relative (penny stamp affixed) from Europe. If you're the sort of person who thinks that rummaging through a museum warehouse or a restricted archive would be fascinating or an antique book collector (either a collector of old books, or an old collector of books) this is a must-see one hour destination.

She was in her 20s, tall, medium length brown hair and pretty eyes (green?). I told her briefly what I was looking for. Among their absolutely huge, vast, and colorful array of stones and crystals, she explained to me the properties of those that may suit me. She never missed a beat in her defining each one. She then allowed me space so I could wander and decide on those I felt I needed. I left with (3) stones and (2) crystals. This young lady is truly an asset to Coyote Wisdom!
