I called a couple of days ahead of time to see about scheduling an appointment for a relaxer and she quoted me that her relaxers start at $90 and that includes a trim. $90 is EXTREMELY overpriced for a relaxer, but I was willing to pay for someone that got decent reviews and sounded professional over the phone. I have shorter, bobbed hair that stops right above my shoulders. Once she started on my hair, it took only 5-7 mins for my relaxer to be put in....no tugging, no fighting through knots, it was simple. Once she shampooed my relaxer out and began to condition my hair, she told me that my price had gone from $90 to $135 because of the length and thickness of my hair, and also because I waited so long to get a relaxer. My entire life, I have always gotten a relaxer after 6-8 weeks of new growth and never once has any hair dresser told me that I waited too long to the point they'd have to up charge me. Either way, I feel that I was gypped out of almost $50 because she should have told me before she started service on my hair that my price would be $135, since she'd seen my thickness and length once I walked through the door. I also burned pretty badly on the side of my face, past my hairline and there was no acknowledgement of that. My last complaint is that I asked way ahead of time if I could use my credit card to pay for my services and I was told it was perfectly fine. However, once it was time to pay, I was slightly pressured into using the Cash App because that's how she preferred it, regardless if a credit card is what worked best for me. My hair turned out okay, but nothing I would EVER in life pay the amount I did. After this experience, my recommendation would be to triple and quadruple check what price(s) your expected to pay for your requested services, and clarify what method of payment you'll stick to using.

I don't like big crowds and certain types of energy, so I was impressed by the calm, peaceful atmosphere -- the decor, the vibe, and snacks (popcorn!!) Back to Amy T.... she has an incredible eye for color (trust me totally on this one!!), cut, and style, and genuinely listens while gently offering expert suggestions (again, trust me on this!!) She clearly has a passion for her craft, the results speak for themselves! (wish I'd shared before and afters!). I have to tell her to not make me look "too good" as my daily friends and family will be suspicious of my fanciness.
