After seeing evidence of a rat, and meeting the large guy in my basement, I tried to resolve the…read moreissue myself. I found a crack in a roof drain pipe near the main sewer outlet to the street. Sealed the likely entrance, built trap boxes ( YouTube... ) and used various baits. Rats are extremely smart and fast. He'd get the food but not caught. After a a few weeks I gave in and searched for an exterinator. The reviews about Joe prompted me to get in touch. The reviews describe him perfectly ! He came the next day. We spent almost 2 hours going around the house inspecting for evidence of entry points, nests, activity as well as getting to know each other. He is truly a nice guy who knows his craft ! Joe seemed impressed by my approach. Thought, based on what he saw, that there might only be the one and didn't see any obvious additional enrty points. He suggested a few new baits and traps and we decided to stay in touch before moving to poison. He refused payment for his time and advice. He promptly replied to my status texts over the next few days. Nobody caught, no success... until I got him ! Sent Joe pictures. Recieved a congratulations reply ! Now going to keep monitoring for a few weeks, traps set. Maybe my problem is solved. Fingers crossed my visitor didn't have friends and family. Luis picked up the phone early in the morning, had me send a photo of my bites to him, confirmed that they were most likely bb's and had Danny come that morning to confirm. Danny is very thorough and clear with advice and options, all while keeping you calm. Having been through this before, I decided to treat rather than wait. In keeping up with the times, they have added an additional treatment along with Aprehend to make the extermination even more effective. The matter was taken care of in a few hours, and I am so grateful. With the method they use I didn't have to put all my clothes in bags and only had to do my dirty laundry, which alleviates some of the stress from the situation. I reached out to Stan and he asked me several good questions to truly assess the situation PRIOR to scheduling a home search to see if it was even necessary in the first place! He thoroughly educated me on bed bugs and I learned that my situation doesn't really present like a bed bug infestation. He discussed other options for me to figure out the source of my bites (many of which are inexpensive) while also discussing my options for having M&M support me and help me with my issue. If I EVER am unfortunate enough to really have a problem I am definitely coming back to these guys! They are knowledgeable and trustworthy- not just trying to take your money! Before deciding on this company, I called two other local companies, both of which were expensive and were insisting upon a canine inspection. After reading other 5-star reviews for Northeastern Exterminating, I decided to give them a call, and I'm glad I did. I explained my issue to Joe, who worked to calm my nerves about this situation and thoroughly explained everything that would occur with his company's home inspection, to be performed by his son, James. I wanted an appointment ASAP, and although Joe could only offer me an appointment for several days later, he assured me that he would keep my number at the ready just in case they had a cancellation. The night before my inspection, I received a text message from James confirming the time he would arrive, the price that was agreed upon, and simple instructions for how to prep for the inspection. The next morning, I received another text about an hour before the scheduled time to pinpoint the exact time he would be arriving - which is insanely helpful and courteous. Upon arrival, right on time, James asked me about my situation and immediately got to work performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the three bedrooms in my house, from floor to ceiling. The bed, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, etc. everything was carefully inspected while he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and even what I could do in the future to put my mind at ease. He made sure to look at everything I asked him to, and could not have been more easygoing and professional. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.
