And the doctor was amazing and helped me find help for my anxiety as well as we all know pregnancy can be mentally straining on the mind. Everyone made me feel safe and comfortable! The receptionist told me that I HAD to wait outside of the building in the pouring rain because of my palpatations. I had to beg to be allowed back inside so I could sit down. Then the doctor calls me to cancel the appointment because she did not want to deal with someone who had Covid-19. She is supposed to be my primary care physician. She didn't even know I was having heart palpatations or was scheduled for a colonoscopy. This call was at the time I was supposed to be seeing her. She had not even looked at my chart. So now I don't get to have my care coordinated or my flu shot. A doctor who refuses to see sick people need to take a leave of absence. You should lie about your symptoms if you want to see a doctor in this practice. Sick people are not allowed.

The drug reps also seem to like him, as he's got a sample of everything...great when you're trying different drugs trying to find a good combination to fix you. Downside (or maybe an upside, I guess) is that his billing people are forever slow. Four months after my first appointment, they had never billed me for what was left after insurance. I finally asked about it and they printed me a statement. I guess he doesn't really need the money. :-p. I just don't like having a pile of medical bills...who knows if they'll just forget to bill me one day and turn it over to collections since it's so old.

It does get busy there, so I wanted to be seen sooner (as I was seen at LVHN Express Care last Thursday for a fall. I decided to book my appt. with Dr Ahluwalia in Northampton this morning. I was extremely fortunate to schedule an 8:20 am appointment at his office for today. Shay (reception/registration, etc.) was incredibly kind and efficient. The nurse, Michelle, was very knowledgeable, caring and good at getting through my nervousness. Today I was able to get a referral for physical therapy (starting this week)! And a prescription for a walker with an attached seat. This is so that I won't reinjure myself while healing. Dr. Ahluwalia is very good at including the entire treatment team in notes and correspondence. Several of my medications can cause dizziness, so we are going to try to lower doses slowly. This includes psychiatric meds from my Psychiatrist, Dr Zemanek. If you are looking for someone who listens and understands a great deal about medication interactions, this is a great place to go.
