We spoke with Ronal about our reno and he was able to accommodate our request. We felt that Ronal was very honest and up front about our kitchen modification. He wanted to point out all the potential complications that could happen with the reno (colour matching, floor modification, toe kick modification) We also wanted to save one piece of the old cabinet to be used on the new installation. From the designers to the ownership, everyone is a "yes man". The concept of customer service is lost on these folks; they simply do not care. Everything will look perfect until you pay that deposit and then you'll start to see the red flags. One thing will be written and/or recorded and you will receive something entirely different. The "designers" simply don't pay attention and you find out your order is wrong after it has been delivered, despite numerous confirmations beforehand. It is extremely challenging to work with people that say one thing and then ultimately do something else. The worst part is that as the customer, you are blamed. In my situation, I had visual proof (paper trail) showing that the designer made a major measurement error, even after final confirmations and after I was told all requests have been correctly submitted, and this was brushed off entirely. This is a clueless company. Customer service aside, the big issue is all of their cabinets are made overseas in China. This has nothing to do with quality but has everything to do with timing. From the beginning, you'll be waiting at least 12 weeks for initial delivery; everything is sent via boat in containers. If something goes wrong, you'll wait another 12 weeks (15 weeks in my case) during which time I was given continual lies about the order status: "it will be two weeks", "it will be two more weeks", "it has arrived", "it will still be four more weeks". Yes, you are reading this correctly. After being told "it has arrived", it was another four weeks until it actually arrived. You have to ask yourself: why would they lie about this? Or do they simply have zero control and insight into their own supply chain? I do not know which is worse. If you've worked with this type of cabinet company before, you'll know that something **always** goes wrong due to their incompetence. Had I known how clueless these people are, I would have stayed far away. This is what happens when you focus on price before quality. A lesson learned for me that I hope those reading this do not repeat. If you want speed, accuracy and quality, stick with a local company that manufactures locally. Cost may be marginally higher but you'll have a better outcome with more timely results. The response times will be faster and you'll get your order much quicker. Within one kilometer of this company are 10 other cabinet companies to choose from. Seriously shop around before even remotely considering these guys. Trust me, this will save you a lot of time and likely money too overall, with less headache. The old saying really is true: "you get what you pay for". Buyer beware.

Having done a lot of our own research as to the different types of flooring available to us, our next step was whether retailers would have what we liked. We found many did not have the selection to give us more choice. We needed to find a good retailer who has good customer service and has staff who do excellent installation because we were not going to do it ourselves. At one big box retailer we were not too impressed by their impersonal sales staff, because they provided us with limited information on what would be involved to have the existing carpet removed and have the underlay and the new floor installed. A good friend had used Metrotown Floors and Interiors before and had referred us to contact them with our flooring project. So we made some time to contact them and to go visit their showroom. The showroom had a very good selection of all types of good to high quality flooring. The customer service representative Al Eris welcomed us as we came through the door. He asked us what was our plan and what needed to be done. Then, he made a home visit to measure the work space and bring up any concerns that needed to be addressed. For example, what baseboards could be used that would go best with the current door frames, trimming of the doors, and to consider that we may need to level the underground floor before installing the underlay and the new flooring. We were impressed by Al's professionalism and his attention to detail. So impressed that we chose to go with Metrotown Floors. Once we chose the underlay and flooring we wanted Al was quick to give us samples of the product, and he advised us of the cost estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He put the time and effort into understanding our needs and he was there for us before, during, and even after our job was completed. Reaching out to us to see if we had any concerns with the installation and if we are satisfied with his customer service and the hard working staff who did the installation.
