I needed pool service pretty immediately after the rains in November and Japi was among the first…read moreto call me back and provide a time for me. He is very thorough, and knows his pools. He is responsive and even answers all of my dumb questions (I am a first-time pool owner). Prices are in line with the industry average, but he truly cares about the pool and does a good job every week! The proof is the report that he sends with each service with pics!

We hired GP&A after speaking with several pool companies and chose them specifically based on their…read morereviews praising quick response times and communication. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We did the "Green-to-Clean ($800)". It took SIX weeks. We had to repeatedly follow up because they would go ~2 weeks without showing up or communicating. When we asked, we were told there was an emergency situation, we tried to be understanding, but there was no proactive communication on their end. We decided weekly service ($250/month). After the initial clean, we signed up for weekly maintenance. Within 24-48 hours of each visit, chlorine levels would drop back to 0 ppm. GP&A's explanation was that our pool system was outdated and needed to be replaced. However, we had two separate pool inspections done when we purchased the home, plus 3-4 other pool companies assess the equipment, none of them flagged the system (installed in 2017) as a problem requiring replacement. Upsell attempts: GP&A quoted us a full system replacement (under $6,000) and then a filter replacement (~$2,200) before they said they could continue service. We decided to move on to another provider. End of service: We asked if they could continue maintaining the pool through the end of the month. Their last visit was six days before the final day of the month (image attached). The pool was visibly green and in poor condition by end of month (again they serviced it 6 days ago and it is this green; not adding enough chlorine). When we brought this up, they responded that the condition was "consistent with the unresolved filtration issue for which repairs were recommended", essentially placing responsibility on us for not purchasing their repair package. We were looking for a long-term, trustworthy pool service company. What we experienced was poor communication, inconsistent results, and recommendations that no other company has supported. I cannot recommend GP&A based on our experience.

We have installed a pool before, so we have a good understanding of what to expect during the…read moreprocess. Initially, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly Emerald Waters Pool completed our pool installation. Unfortunately, we soon realized the speed came at the expense of doing the job correctly. The biggest issue was that the required city inspections were never completed before construction moved forward. Will advanced the project all the way to the final inspection, where the city rejected the entire project. We then spent approximately two and a half months waiting for everything to be corrected and approved before we could finally move forward with the plaster. Even after receiving city approval, the problems continued. The site had not been properly prepared before the plaster was applied, resulting in it having to be installed twice. Then, just three weeks after installation, the color began fading, which was clearly not normal. We contacted Will about the issue but never received a response. We also discovered that the waterfall was installed off-center, another quality control issue that should have been caught during construction. In addition to the pool, we hired Emerald Waters Pool to install a patio and walkway. The workmanship was disappointing. The pavers was neither straight nor level without constant supervision, and we had to insist that sections be redone because they were not installed correctly. To make matters worse, some of the additional work we paid for was never completed. It is also worth noting that the work performed outside of the pool installation was never covered by a written contract, which appeared to avoid documenting that portion of the project. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Emerald. Between the missed inspections, poor workmanship, lack of communication, and incomplete work, the project became far more stressful and time-consuming than it should have been. We strongly encourage anyone considering this company to continue their search for a builder that prioritizes quality, communication, and accountability.

Where do I start? My latest service request with Claffey involved a leak I discovered in my pool…read moreequipment this morning. I called Claffey service, and after considerable back-and-forth and foot-dragging on the phone, I was told, "We're very busy, and we'll put you in the queue." Naturally, I asked for a rough time frame. The response: "We might be able to get to you by the end of next week." That is a complete and utter lack of customer service. To make matters worse, two years ago, during one of the severe cold spells, my pool equipment froze and my heater failed. Claffey had no meaningful guidance on how to deal with the cold weather and offered very few helpful suggestions. One of the more absurd recommendations was that I might need to use antifreeze in my pool during extreme cold. Ummmmmm... The service Claffey provides is okay, and the technicians who have come out have been friendly. However, they are easily 30-40% more expensive than other companies, and that's even after I negotiated a "deal." On top of that, they charge separately for quarterly cleaning, which many other pool services include in their standard fees. Suffice it to say, I wish I had switched companies years ago. Shelley was fantastic to work with during the design and build of the pool; however, for ongoing service, you would be far better off using another company.

Basically told me" No, and we cannot help you at all and will not refer you to someone that can help you." Would not consider using this Company basically if they didn't build your pool then they will not do business with you.
