Like with any social media platform, anyone has the freedom to put whatever they want out there, but it still surprises me that there are people out there who cannot be satisfied even with establishments who go above and beyond what industry standards are. I work with MANY pool contractors and service companies and Robertson exceeds the industry norm by upholding ethical principles and outstanding business practices. Frisco office. Be responsive, respectable and do what you say you'll do. First. No show for appt, no call text etc. After my follow up making it to a Thursday appt, said proposal mon or tues. Nothing received. Called on Thursday and was able to reach Steve who said bid done, will send next day Friday. Nothing received again on May 9th. It's now June 1, never received anything, no follow up calls etc. Boasting how long you've been in business and supposedly one of 2 largest pool builders does not make you good or an ideal selected pool builder. Robertson pools resurfaced my pool and as soon as they finished the hot tube leaks. I contacted the company and they have done nothing but steal my money. I've asked people around town and they have had bad experiences with this company as well. Robertson is a horrible company. Take my advice and use somebody else. read more

We've been a loyal customer since 2007 when Robertson Pools designed, built and have exclusively serviced our pool - having spent over $100k+ with them in the last 18 years. Total mishandling by Upper Management - an earnest apology is all it would have taken to resolve this issue but apparently they would rather lose a loyal customer than shallow their ego!!! He is conscientious, professional and thorough, and I appreciate that he takes the extra few seconds with each week's service to personalize his service notes/door hanger with each visit, instead of just checking the boxes and moving on. I also appreciate him noticing things that are not working and reporting those directly to Robertson's as well as to me. Robertson's has been providing our weekly service since they built and installed our pool - while we've had plenty of reliable pool techs over that time, this is the first time that I've felt inclined to write about one, as he truly puts the "service" into your customer service and is an excellent representative of your company. I apologize to the Robertson crew that the highest rating is 5-star! My pool was refinished about 2 years ago. Severe issues due to the hard freeze/power outages experienced at that time here in north Texas. We had a major hailstorm come through just a few days ago, hail as big as softballs/grapefruits and my pool looks flawless! I can only comend and acknowledge the Robertson crew's professional install and quality materials for the amazing survival...! My pool is gorgeous and durable! I could not be more pleased! I kept thinking if we can get through this phase and I will be in love with my pool it will all be worth it. Unfortunatly that is not the case. We have several areas where the decking is not completed, broken and nails sticking out. They told my husband they had someone coming out "next week" but that week has come and gone without anything from them. I emailed 5 people on Monday at Robertson's and attached pics of all the areas that needed to be fixed and guess what they said...NOTHING BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT EVEN RESPONDED. None of them. I don't know how this compnay stays in business but I will make sure everyone I know sees the pics of their crappy completed job and hears about their lack of service. Still waiting on completion of pool. I really wish I would have read the reviews before we committed to this group! Communication is terrible!!! Measurement were off to our grill and to fence off the pool which delayed us. We have a had a swampy pool all summer and well into fall due to their delays which they never update us on and we have to call all the time to get any information. I agree with other person on here-get a start and end date. And don't give a lot of money up front if you do go with them- we did and I feel they ran with it! So shady and so lousy in performance. Our pool design was initiated in Summer of 2021, contract signed August 31, 2021, dig began Dec.21, 2021 and completion was June 15, 2022. Robertson is the best. I am writing this review 2 years post-completion with 2 Texas winters in the books. Prior to selecting Robertson, I received 3 other bids from Foley, Hauk, and a company that does fiberglass pools just to compare. Robertson was the best fit for us. We are beyond satisfied and they stand behind their work and service is amazing. Our sales professional, Kevin D. went above and beyond to work with us and our over-reaching HOA to secure HOA approved access for the dig. Our project manager was top-notch. Post-completion, John I. in the pool school, was super helpful and trained us how to do all of the balancing and cleaning etc. My wife and I do it ourselves because he made it make sense. After the last freeze, our booster pump was making loud noise from a failing ball-bearing. Since it was still under warranty, they replaced it promptly. There are many pool companies to choose from and if I built another pool I would go with Robertson again. read more

I will have to echo the other bad reviews. I bought a house with a pool built by Robertson Pools Waayyy back in the late 80's. I still have all the information, pool blueprints, everything minus an elevation. Dealing with a chemistry problem, and wanted to pay a tech to come buy to help me decipher the diagrams vs what we are dealing with. I was actually told "yeah, back in the 80's we were a really small company, and now we are so big we can't work with the old customers". Seriously, wtf??? I didn't ask for anything for free, and have enough money to pay a pol contractor (less than honest and guy by night by my experience) so congrats to semi retired Mr. Robertson for stringing people along for a good bit of time, but I am rarely told "we are too big to assist previous customers that helped us get so big." I was hung up on, my credit card was charged for service not done, I could not contact a real person to talk to, and there prices and equipment are the worst. Robertson Pools has been a big disappointment on our project. The flex fill around the pool was not properly compacted. The travertine tiles are settling and uneven as is the retaining wall. They placed fill on top of our existing sod instead of removing it. There is a void in the pool shell with exposed and rusting rebar. Rust will bleed through the plaster if not sealed. We are unable to plaster the pool until they correct the deficiencies. The construction supervisor told us they would "absolutely" correct the deficiencies and provide a schedule therefor. He has not done so. Requests for a schedule have been ignored. Our patio roof did not comply with City of McKinney permit requirements. It has been on hold for over one month. We await a third inspection. We recommend anyone contemplating using Robertson Pools carefully consider all the various website and BBB reviews. We wish we had. read more

Most disappointing experience for me - from the office staff down to the pool maintenance. We have all summer had a green pool, no shows, and now visit charges when no service was performed. We tried to stay with them, reluctant to change it up for 2 years in 2 homes and spent a lot on new equipment at both pools with them. We were good customers treated so poorly by office staff when we finally said enough we are cancelling weekly service just cannot take the no shows, green pool, etc. Now we are informed by our new pool service company we must do a whole chemical start up as its so bad and filter clean they say should be annual with this type filter but has not been properly maintained so need one only 4 months after Robertson did it. Only rated Robertson Pools a 1 star bc it was the minimum. I went into getting a pool knowing it would be a cluster of an experience, says everyone! We initially went with Robertson from a recommendation and to be honest, we liked our sales guy, Nick. Sadly, we only deal with sales until you sign and then you are hosed. THEY NEVER COMMUNICATE! The worst communication, if any at all, we have ever experienced. The construction sup, David, is a good guy- spit and hand shake type of guy but again, not the best at communicates. The Dir Dave Campbell (I think that's his name) is a snake in the grass! Their paperwork was not consistent with conversations! They NEVER (not even 1 time) showed up when they said they would, even if they said "sometime during the week". The measurements on our pool were completely wrong and didn't match but they told us it's the software and software doesn't lie. (BS- we work in technology! Software us only as good as the developers or company) They showed up for dig day, took down our fence and started digging and NEVER TOLD US THEY WERE COMING! The hot tub/spill over was completely wrong and not what we agreed on or what was documented. Instead of making it right, or giving us a discount, they told us there was nothing they could do and it still looks fine. WHAT?!?? The back side of the retaining wall ;not against a fence, and exposed to the rest of the yard) looked like crap. My elementary school kids would have done a better job. They told me that it doesn't matter bc dirt will be there. (No- Dirt cannot and will not be in the center of my yard or 6 inches from the pool) I could go on and on but...what it comes down to is they don't give a rat's a$$ about customers or honesty! This company is out for themselves. Extremely happy that many of our neighbors were turned away from Roberston Pools when they saw our yard, pool, lack of progress, loooooong timeline, and then heard our facts! Happy to share kore experiences or any/all paperwork from this company. STAY AWAY!!! Not worth it!! P.s. we started this process before covid. I started this process over a year ago I was told to be patient I agreed, we are now to the end part and month after month I cannot get them to come back and finish the error on the travertine decking or finish grading the yard there are ruts all over and I cannot put in the sprinkler system or sod until they come back Brook is nonresponsive and Dave does not stand behind what the salesman or the project manager tells you they charge you whatever they want to and they have you over a barrell. We have built two pools with Robertson Pools, and have been amazed at the design, quality, attention to detail, and overall customer experience in both cases! When we first met our designer (Tony Martin), he came up with a design that was completely different than other builders, and had us sold once we realized Robertson uses their own skilled employees from start to finish! Where other less skilled designers wanted to create a pool with a huge drop-off on our sloped backyard, Tony had the foresight to stair step the pool down from our back porch, and created a resort type experience for no additional expense. When it came time to build our second pool, Tony came through for us again! He developed a completely different design from the previous one that maximized the little space we have in our current backyard. It's rare to meet someone who is so dedicated to their craft, but you can tell Tony enjoys creating pools that fit exactly what customers want - and more! Our superintendent, David Saulmon took over when the construction process started, and was always one step ahead of us in making sure things were done right. He helped smooth over issues with neighbors, made sure our plans were accurately executed, and was always available to help respond to any questions. Several times we asked if something could be done, and David was exceptionally quick to respond, and surprised us by finding ways to accomplish what we were looking for. We didn't build the biggest pools Robertson has ever built, but they made us feel like we are a valued customer, and have given us amazing value on our backyard projects. As a family of engineers, we are exceptionally critical of projects like this, and we could not be happier with our repeat experience! read more

READ THE REVIEWS!!! I used Robertson Pools because my mother in law used them for her replaster. I didn't read the reviews... I always read the reviews. But I took her word for it that they were good. Their lack of communication between THEMSELVES is ridiculous. It started with John (who was rude to me for his error) only installing one pump when my contract had two. Neither Paul or Daniel returning my call that day when I called before 5 p.m. It wasn't until I called again the next day that Paul returned my call to inform me that I was supposed to receive two pumps. But as I suspected John had already thrown away my old up. Which Paul said they would replace free of charge. So I was content for the moment. Then receive another call from Paul now telling me a second pump won't fit with my equipment. Which I feel he knew from the get go but wanted me to purchase a new one which I did because I trusted him. My mistake. So I asked for some sort of a discount since clearly I would've just used my previous pump but of course that one would not have been strong enough. But whatever. So I receive a text from Daniel ready to start the replaster and wanting the last payment. I text him informing him that I needed to speak to Paul first. And he says that's fine but I still need payment. To write the back and forth would just infuriate me again. So I'll spare the exact details. Paul calls me, gives me my discount and they start the replaster. Now when they start the replaster you're expected to brush your pool several times a day right after. Well I call Paul and tell him we're going out of town that we need to hold off on it. He says it's fine you can brush it when you get back. I receive a call from him showing me the pool. Which don't get me wrong the pool itself looks good it's the rest of the issues that would keep him from ever using Robertson Pools again. When I get back home my husband is doing as told brushing the pool and I happen to ask my mother in law shouldn't the pool be on? She says yes. So I call Paul irritated AGAIN. I'll have you know I'm still waiting for that returned call. But he sent Chad out to TURN ON THE POOL because guess what? IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON AND THEY DIDN'T TURN IT ON!!! And Chad calls, very rudely as if it's my fault they didn't turn on the pool, and tells me he was swinging by my house. I'm like who are you and why? And he says don't you need your pool on???? I'm like yeah? Well that's why. Was rude while at my house. And I had an appointment with Daniel the next day because on one of my invoices it said the fountains were leaking. So the fountains were leaking and noone was going to talk to me about it??? Just put it on a invoice and say that's enough. Ok cool. So Daniel comes by tells me what I wanted to hear. So sorry about the bad service, I'll talk to Robert about it and I'll see if your contract has the two pumps blah blah blah.... that was weeks ago he was going to give us a quote for the replacement of the heater and to fix the fountains. STILL WAITING FOR THAT TEXT lol Don't use them. We live DFW. There is better out there for you. Save yourself the trouble. To Paul. Chad. John. Had my pool replastered about five years ago. Pool is twenty five years old. When I had it replastered the pool needed a repair to a small crack which they addressed. ONE year later the pool had a large stain in one end and the crack reappeared. I called and the rep came out and said they never fixed a crack...funny...I had pictures of the entire replaster job and yep they were fixing a crack. I asked about the stain and what appeared to be another crack. His exact comment "Well it's your tough luck". My pool at 20 years looked better than this pool at five years. A positive comment...the new tile work was good. Service...horrible. I was told that the owner would call me...still waiting. Looking for new company to redo this shoddy work. read more

We contracted Robertson Pools to remodel our pool and backyard. The project started in 8/2014 and was supposed to last 6 weeks. Seven months later they are nearly complete. The project has been rife with lack of management of incompetent workers. They destroyed a 6'x4' window in our living room that took them a week to replace. The replacement solar shade came months later. The reason the window was destroyed was, because they were taking down a column to repair part of our patio that shouldn't have been demolished. While we were waiting for the replacement window they showed up to seal our hole in our house with pegboard. Also, their contract is written so as they get payment before starting each phase and leave the customer with no leverage at the end of the job to get it completed correctly. All along the way they have their hand out for the next payment in the schedule before they even finish the phase they are on. They had to be watched carefully, because there were many items they had to re-do either because they didn't follow the plan or simply installed it incorrectly. At the near end of the project our newly formed deck has a 10 foot long crack in it that they have told us is not a warranty matter. They are basically saying that they don't have to provide quality work. I could not recommend them to anyone. read more

When we were unable to find a pool company in our area to repair a leak and replace the tile on our 20 year old pool we mentioned this to our friends Ron and Sylvia Robertson. Ron immediately set up a timeline to do the repairs.. When we were undecided on tile selection he recommended a tile which turned out to be much more tasteful than when the pool was new. His crew drove over 300 miles to be exactly on time. The work was completed in 2 days as promised and the crew of Jorge and Armando could not have been more competent and professional. Roberson's Pools built an in ground, gunite pool for me in 2013, costing over $30,000. They provided a lifetime warranty on the pool structure and other various warranties on the plumbing, and decking. In 2018 a rust spot developed on the pool wall due to faulty construction of the pool that resulted in a metal rod being exposed to water in the pool, which then rusted. The repair, performed by Robertson's Pools, cost me $570 in total. The repair was needed due to a faulty structure made by Robertson's, but when asked to cover the repair, they said their warranty did not cover any issues with faulty construction after 1 year. They stated all they warrantied after 1 year was that the pool would hold water. This is false because the pool structure includes the gunite walls and metal rebar that it encases. Robertson's Pools does not stand by their warranty and is not a trustworthy company. Do not do business with them. read more
