Furthermore, the aggressive nature of the presenter created a high-pressure sales environment rather than an educational one. A legitimate student experience shouldn't require checking your critical thinking at the door. If the presentation had provided honest, unbiased information instead of high-pressure sales tactics, I would have gladly recommended it to others who might be interested. A family member of mine (freshman) was sexually assaulted by other students (sophomores), and the incident was reported to the principal and another faculty member in person and through email. There was no follow up until my brother emailed the staff member who "handled" the situation himself, to which she responded that the problem was essentially "taken care of." Not only is that subjective (and in no way truly centers the comfort the victim), it is false. My [family member] received no confirmation of his bullies' consequence and was forced to believe that the issue was resolved. The fact that there was no further discussion/ investigation involving the parents is SO weird. Definitely felt like a coverup so that the schools in the Conejo valley could keep masquerading as safe spaces despite the many offenses of racism, sexual harassment, and bullying that happen way too frequently. You guys disgust me. YOU DONT CARE ABOUT OUR CHILDREN. The entire administration needs to be replaced with people dedicated to protecting our children and setting them up for success.
